On my laptop, Samsung Kies is not installed, hope it may be the problem. But my laptop, Kies is not getting installed, it's showing "no internet connected!!" even if I am connected to WiFi.
I am totally stuck, please can anyone help?

Kies stuck on "connecting" on Mac+Samsung Galaxy S2
I have the latest version of Kies, OS X, and a Samsung Galaxy s2 with CM10 on it. It is set to MTP with USB debugging off (if it's on USB storage rather than MTP, Kies crashes). I tried playing with many parameters but none of them seem to work - when I plug in my Galaxy, Kies shows "connecting" and...

It is set to MTP with USB debugging off (if it's on USB storage rather than MTP, Kies crashes).
I tried playing with many parameters but none of them seem to work - when I plug in my Galaxy, Kies shows "connecting" and nothing happens.. (the program itself is not stuck).
Someone suggested launching phone util (7284) and changing the PDA/modem stuff, but it doesn't launch on my phone, I guess it's because of my CM10.
I also tried rebooting the phone/Mac several times.
What else can I do?

I want to update my Galaxy S3 to Jelly Bean but after downloading the firmware using Kies, it starts updating, but then it stops with a "dead" Android with a red triangle icon.
I think it's because I have removed some default apps like ChatOn and Yahoo widgets.
Is there any way to get them back or to install the official Jelly Bean update without a factory reset? I don't want to reinstall my apps again and lose my settings each time I need to update the OS (I also don't want bloatware apps that are pre-installed).
**EDIT:**
I have ClockWorkMod recovery installed. I think that might be the problem. Is there any way I can flash the stock recovery only?.
My operator is vodafone from Portugal.
Any ideas?

When it finally recovers, it announces that backing up messages has failed (the rest of the items are fine).

In the past backup has worked correctly with the same phone.

Using Odin 3.07, it detects the device. I click the PDA button and select
CF-Auto_Root.tar, then Start and I get this error:

NAND Write Start!!
cache.img.ext4
FAIL!
All now when I restart I get this message:Firmware upgrade encountered an issue.
Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again.threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)

Advantages of updating through Samsung Kies compared to OTA?
I have Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and I am still waiting for the KitKat OTA update. If Kies would allow me to end the waiting, I would definitely give it a try. Does Kies provide any kind of advantage towards getting a pending update?

I've got the latest version of KIES installed for a Samsung Galaxy S5 (Verizon). Currently on the June patch level for Android 6.0.1 (and want to use KIES to update to the September patch level). However, whenever I connect my phone, KIES says "The connected device is locked - Please enter password on the connected device". I don't see anywhere to enter a connection password on the device. I'm in the menu, I can run apps, so I'm already past the screenlock password. What exactly do I need to do for KIES to be allowed access?

I was updating the firmware of my Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 with Samsung Kies 3 on my Macintosh and suddenly my laptop turned off, so I disconnect the phone and tried to reboot it and after it displayed the following message on its screen:

Also on top left of the screen there is some text being displayed in the tiniest readable font it seems, which says:

Since, the laptop turned off in the middle of the update, when I restarted it Samsung Kies 3 had no idea what happened and now my phone won't even show up in the Firmware emergency recovery window of Kies 3. Firmware upgrade and initialization also doesn’t work since ‘GT-I9505’ doesn't support initializing.
Can anybody help me?
P.S: My cell phone isn't rooted or anything. I don't have any custom recovery installed. I was just using the official Samsung ROM and OTA updates whenever they arrive.

Kies says
Upgradeing firmware... Do not disconnect a mobile device from the PC during upgrade process
Progress Bar has "Upgrade is in progress.." and is stack at about 1/3
The phone screen shows a green triangle with Downloading... below it and "Do not turn off Target!!! at the bottom.
It has been this way for about an hour.
What should I do?
Should I unplug my phone?
Should I keep on waiting?
I really don't want to end up with a brick.

However I also have 3 newer android (lollipop) phones... so ... what is the advised way? Deinstall version 3 then install version 2.6 (to work with older android versions) and after that deinstall version 2.6 and reinstall version 3 (for my newer android versions) ?
Anyone dealt with this / has a setup for this?
*update* I installed smart switch which seems to work for all. It calls ODIN and stuff seems to work.

I wanna know if KIES keeps these hidden items on backup. Because right after I've had restored the backup there were no more hidden items.
Is that possible that the item have missed his "hidden" property and it's still there or It really wasn't included on KIES backup?
