I have got a Samsung Galaxy GT-I5500. Actually there is Froyo 2.2 running on it. I read that with 2.2.2 there got a bunch of bugfixes released. Even though i know Froyo is quite old I never ever read about someone who upraded to Version 2.2.2 though. Everybody seems to stay with 2.2 (or switches to 2.3,...) That's why I would like to ask if there is a way to switch to 2.2.2 even though my carrier doesn't provide it through kies??? --> I already found this page Official ROMs for i5500 but I don't really know about the JPJ/JQ3...-Codes. Even though it says that these ROMs should be 2.2.2 I am not really sure about that, because the Codes listed differ quite a lot. My actual SW-Version: PDA XWJQ3 / PHONE NEJPS / CSC REJP2

I am using Samsung Galaxy I5500 (aka Europa). But when I browse contacts list not all the letters through A-Z show in the right hand side of the screen. The missing letters are K,L,Q,R,W,X. So, that It become irritating for me find these first lettered contacts. Do you guyz have any solution to this? I'm using Samsung GT-i5503 with android version 2.2. I recently updated my Kies application. And after updating when I tried converting videos using Kies Video COnverter from youtube then saved in my phone, it won't play and error message was displayed(Sorry, this video cannot be played.). However, before updating my kies it works perfectly. How can I convert videos now so that can be played in my phone.

I have working Wi-Fi connection. I can connect to any access point in range and I have no problems with passwords, etc. But after some time (sometimes hours, sometimes days) my phone tries to connect to access point and it fails. In Wi-Fi settings I just have "Błąd" message which in English means "Error". Then I cannot connect to any network, I'm not eve able to scan available networks - Wi-Fi is totally dead. When I reboot phone it starts to working normally again. My phone specs: Samsung Galaxy 5 GT-I5500 Android 2.2 - FROYO.XWJQ3 I5500XWJP4

I have a problem with images in my gallery. The thumbnails of my photos are not the actual images when I view the image. The thumbnails are the photos which I have deleted or my other images in my phone. What might be the problem why the thumbnails are not the actual images? Is it messing with my caches?

Ok, so my samsung galaxy 5 was stolen. I had gmail, calendar, twitter(tweetdeck), facebook, ... all my personal data in it. I didn't have any app installed that could wipe this information from a sms (tried to install PlanB through the market, but I don't think it'll work). I already changed my google password and I'm proceeding to change facebook and twitter as well. Is this enough? How much of this information (old emails, tweets, ...) are saved in the phone's memory? Can I prevent access to this just by changing my passwords? I've blocked my SIM card with my provider, so I guess the phone currently have no internet or telephone line access. Here in Brazil we can also block a stolen cell phone with the IMEI number, but I don't know exactly what this means. Will this brick the phone or just prevent it from being registered in the network?

My s5 phone is facing a problem due to mm qcamera daemon bug since 05 November 2014. How can I fix it? I have tried restarting and deleting the cache but that did not work.

With my Galaxy 5, I can visit websites using wifi, but how can I access them using GPRS (=when no wifi around)? I don't want to pay for a 3G data plan with my mobile operator. **Background**: On my old Nokia phone (which didn't have wifi), I was able to visit a website using GPRS (useful only for emergencies, but still, useful). This meant that I did not have to subscribe to some data plan with my mobile operator (at least in my country this is so); I did have to pay for the GPRS connection, but that was only when connected.

My Galaxy 5 has this problem for some months now: wifi stops working, I try to enable it and the phone says "Error" without any other further information. The only way to make it work again is rebooting the phone. I think this problem has been related here before. I have ClockworkMod recovery installed on a phone (Samsung Galaxy5 GT-i5500, I have used it in the past to flash ROMs). The phone is currently not booting, just shows the Samsung logo. I want to get into the ClockworkMod recovery mode, by pressing some key combination. (Do not confuse with Samsung download mode: power-down+middle-button+power.) How to get to CWM recovery mode?

Samsung Galaxy 5 (aka 550, Europa, Corby), Samsung's Froyo version (so, Touchwiz. Launcher is ADW Launcher (non-EX). My notifications (the things in the list when you pull down the notification bar, if that's the proper terminology I have no idea) are all black on dark gray, and I'd like to change it. I don't know if it's even possible w/o hackery. Phone is rooted, upgrade to CM7 or higher is "planned" (for some time now :D). So, if it's possible to make the notifications more readable there, that would be a solution. The only readable notification is black on white (or blue on white, not sure), and it's from TaskXP. So the colors seem not to be hardcoded. And as always, a RTFM is welcome. When it includes pointers to *where* in the FM the info is.

I am considering buying a Nexus 7. I would like to occasionally be able to access the internet out and about, but don't want to pay 50% again to get the hspa+ version. I have a Samsung Galaxy Europa I5500 (a.k.a Samsung Galaxy 5) which allows wi-fi (and USB) tethering to provide my laptop with internet. My question is: would a Nexus 7 16GB Wi-Fi be able to connect to the Android 2.2 access point created by my Galaxy Europa? If this isn't possible, would USB tethering be an option still? I've been trying to give my friend my number. When I first got my *Samsung Galaxy S* I wrote it down in the memos: a mobile number that had 11 numbers in it. I can't remember where I got that from -- and now when I try to find it, I go into *About → phone-status*, but for phone number it says "unknown". I don't know what to do. If I click on the "unknown" thing it does nothing. I also thought numbers were meant to have 10 numbers. So how can I find out what my number is?

Me and my friend's galaxy 5 has a weak Wi-Fi signal. Even in a few meters from access point, it has 2 lines of antenna. Is there any solution for increasing signal?

I installed MadTeam's CyanogenMod 7 on my Galaxy 5 few weeks ago. First time I root and install a mod, but fairly uneventful process. My phone got way faster, and except for maybe getting a little slower to connect to the wifi and/or obtain an IP address, it is better in every possible aspect. What is bugging me is that it is prone to restart itself randomly, possibly many times a day, except that I don't notice it most of the time. Just now I noticed because it was in front of my keyboard, and it vibrates when showing the boot animation. The boot itself is quite fast, so it really never posed any problem so far, and it never restarted mid-use, only when inside my pocket or laying on the table (ie. during standby). I just worry that it may become too common or happen during a call, while texting or something. I fiddled a lot with the configs after installing it to discover what it had to offer, but I avoided changing anything that wasn't UI/usability-related. I took the performance settings warning seriously. Any possible explanation? Or is this somehow normal, like a hard memory cleaning procedure? I did some seaching, but nothing about such issue. * Phone: Samsing GT-I5500 (Galaxy 5) * Mod: CyanogenMod-7-20120912-MADTEAM-galaxy5 (Android 2.3.7) -------------- Updated mod to 20121001 version. Got two unresponsive events (once unlocking screen and another one activating wifi) which caused phone restart seconds later, and according to phone uptime counter, an spontaneous reset 2AM last night. Within 48h. Wifi got awfully bad after update (same baseband I5500LUYJPE), took dozens of tries to get an IP, but apparently it was solved by forgetting the network and typing the password again. In short: wifi improved, random restarts remain.

Is there a detailed description available for all the settings in GpsSetup2 (which can be opened by dialing *#*#1472365#*#*)?
