Why don’t links open in external Chrome browser with Telegram Android?
I have "In-App Browser" setting turned off, since I want all links to open in external Chrome browser. However, the links still open in In-App Browser instead of Chrome. Chrome is default and the only browser on my tablet. Why is that? Can this be fixed?

Can someone send me message on Telegram knowing only my email address?
I see that `Telegram` is linked to a phone number. However, you can link an email address to it. There are people (not yet friends) that want to use it. I am not comfortable giving my mobile number to them. If I give them my email address, can they still use Telegram to communicate with me ?

Does Telegram take contacts from other apps on the device? I recently received a notification stating that a person I know has just joined Telegram. This person is not stored in my phone contacts and never has been. The only possible link it has is with the Facebook Messenger app, which is installed on the same device. This also happened on another device with the contact being from Viber. How is this even possible? It has caused a lot of problems because I can not identify the link, and how it happened to be connected. Any insight would be appreciated!

One of the reasons is that when you open the chat from there, you're not able to react to anything. To add a reaction, you need to close that window and open the chat as you would normally before. After checking all of the settings in the app, there was nothing allowing that. How can I then disable them?

Now it says "we have sent you a message **in telegram** with the code" which sounds bizarre. I don't think you can receive a message during the setup phase, and what would be the point security wise? So I don't understand what they could possibly mean by this. I have received no message whatsoever on my Telegram. This must mean it's impossible for anyone to join Telegram.

The least you can ask of a program, that it does what it claims to do. You take a picture inside Telegram, send it and immediately delete it. However it was not deleted at all. A copy of the picture always remains in the folder of the phone:
/media/org.telegram.messenger/Telegram/Telegram Images

If you delete it only for yourself an additional copy remains in the cache folder:
/data/org.telegram.messenger/files/Telegram/Telegram Images
This means:
- deletion for yourself: 2 copies remain
- deletion for both: 1 copy remains However, the user has been deceived into thinking that the image has been deleted. Imagine Telegram shows that your message was sent, but it was not. Similarly, if it shows that an image has been deleted, but it has only been removed from the chat window. There are several security issues: 1. The user has not given permission that local copies can remain after deletion. 2. The user is after deletion not warned that copies remain. 3. The user cannot disable this behavior (at least I could not find a way). 4. The user has to manually delete the files in the folders every time he takes a picture if he doesn't want an unwanted copy. This makes the application useless for such users. 5. Data garbage is created. How can I get Telegram to do what it claims to do? *Notes:* - Deleting the cache within Telegram is not a solution for several reasons. It does not prevent local copies from being saved, it just manually removes them afterwards. Clearing the cache affects all files in the cache, not just one. It does not delete all copies of a given image, the copy in the first folder remains. - Of course, even after deleting a file, the problem remains that in some cases a file can be recovered. Conversely, this would mean that nothing needs to be deleted at all, as it might be possible to restore it. The issue of deletion by overwriting is not discussed here. - The question addresses only the following protocol: first taking a picture within telegram, then sending and immediately deleting it, all done by the same user. - Secret chats are not discussed. - Since it is not open source, hacking methods or manipulation of the source code are not up for discussion. **Edit**
The problem was submitted to Telegram (Link ). However, the text was too long and it was advised to upload a file instead. They only accept only image files. So I had to send a screenshot of my text. Telegram v11.7.0 (5663), Xiaomi HyperOS 2.0.3.0.VMXEUXM, Android 15 AP3A.240905.015.A2

I have Chrome and Telegram installed. Chrome repeatedly and automatically opens a link like https://t.me/joinchat/ ... which invites a person to join a Telegram Channel. After this page, it automatically switches to Telegram Messenger which pops up the same message box for joining the channel. I don't know whether the source of this pop-up is Chrome or Telegram. Anyway, I restricted people who could invite me to Channels on Telegram to my contacts and even blocked suspicious contacts, but it didn't solve the problem. I disabled pop-ups in Chrome setting but it still didn't help. How can I disable this pop-up for this certain website or any other solution?

Since the internet restrictions in Iran have become more severe as of October 2022, nowadays many Iranians are trying different methods to bypass censorship and connect to Telegram. For example, using various proxies and VPNs. So I'd like to encourage them to use Tor - one of the most advanced and secure online anonymity tools. But some of those people seem to gripe that Tor doesn't work in Iran or that Tor's connection is extremely slow, humorously describing its speed as like a turtle with spinal cord injuries. So I was wondering if there is a way to install and use Tor with Snowflake client on Termux, the Linux Terminal Emulator, which is probably a light-weight app and can therefore be used instead of the official Tor Browser and Orbot apps to provide faster performance. After the installation, I also want to set a proxy in my Telegram so that all the Telegram's traffic will be relayed through the Tor Network. So could you help me do so?

I recently bought an Android 13 phone *(Ulefone Armor 24 if that matters)*, and I stumbled upon a problem that oftentimes I stop getting notifications from Telegram about new messages. Judging by my research that might affect other apps. But I don't have any other app whose notifications I heavily rely upon to confirm or disprove that. Further research showed that most of the times when that happens, if I go Settings → Applications → Telegram, I see that the Stop button is grayed out, which implies the Telegram background service got stopped. At first I was blaming Duraspeed, which is default-enabled on this phone and presumably might cause such problems. But after I added Telegram to Duraspeed exceptions nothing changed. So apparently that is not it. Today that problem got repeated, so I tried to peek at system logs with adb logcat, and found this hint:
