I installed some widgets from the Loop Habit Tracker onto the home screen of the Nova Launcher. Unfortunately, the font size of the text in the widgets is too small. I tried increasing the setting at Nova Launcher --> Settings --> Home screen --> Layout --> Label --> Size. This did not change the size of the text in the widgets. I think this setting only impacts the size of the labels for the apps. How can I resize the text in a widget?

I had Nova Launcher installed and set as default. Yesterday I updated to Android 11. After the update there's a bit of mixup: mostly when I go back to the home screen, it presents the Nova Launcher as expected, but sometimes it drops me into the preinstalled launcher I stopped using long ago in favor of Nova.
Pressing the home button again pops up the Nova Launcher.

How to make an invisible (transparent/blank) app icon in Nova Launcher?

I recently switched my Galaxy S23 from on-screen buttons to gesture navigation. I noticed that using the stock launcher I can open the multitasking screen very quickly when swiping upwards and holding (it takes about 0.5 seconds). When I set Nova Launcher as my default launcher and open its home screen, opening the multitasking window takes about twice as long, almost a whole second. When opening the stock launcher again it works fast like before.
This is very annoying as it heavliy hinders my workflow. I tried adjusting Nova's gesture settings but was unable to resolve the issue. How can I fix this?

Redmi Note 10 Pro, Android 13, MIUI 14, Nova Launcher Prime.
What happen: in the "recent app overview", suddenly, some applications are shown as white windows:
What I tried to do:
- Clear Nova's cache
- Clear Nova's data (and start it from scratch)
- Restart Nova
- Restart the system
This issue doesn't occurs if I use MIUI's default launcher.
I sent an email to Nova's Developer, which told me:
> The reason for this is because stock launchers have complete access to
> the system whereas 3rd party launchers don't. The recent apps screen
> is controlled by Android and your device OEM and is tied to the stock
> launcher of your device.
>
> The issue you are experiencing will happen in any and all 3rd party
> launchers (not the stock launcher), not just Nova.
As I've said, this happened suddenly: two days ago I didn't had this issue; I have to give some specific permission to Nova Launcher? How can I solve?

Lock screen launch bar not launching app, shows different icon too
This is an HTC One with Android 4.3 and Nova Launcher Prime (This may be a Nova issue, not sure yet) Since a picture is worth 1000 words, here is the pictures: Dragging an icon "up" from the lock screen is supposed to unlock the phone and launch the app. This worked fine until I changed SMS apps

I had a home screen icon to the "Manage apps & device" page in Google Play Store. Specifically, I had this set up in Nova Launcher (Prime).
I tried to recall how I accomplished this, and I simply do not recall, as it was several years ago.
Looking at the Nova Launcher backup file, I see that I had a shortcut to
action=com.google.android.finsky.VIEW_MY_DOWNLOADS
. Yet when I go to the Activities
list for the Google Play Store, I do not see this activity.
How can one setup a launcher icon to directly access the Google Play Store's "Manage apps & device" page? Alternatively, the "Pending downloads" page might be acceptable as well.
To avoid accidentally posting an XY question, my goal is to quickly see what apps that were downloaded from the Google Play Store have available updates (and download updates if desired). The device is running Android Nougat and has auto-updates disabled.
---
***Edit:***
The reason why I am interested in how I previously set up this Nova Launcher icon is that I want to open the "Manage apps & device" page as a "tap" (single-click) behaviour on a folder icon. Specifically, Nova allows creating a launcher icon for a folder that uses "swipe to open" to open the folder, and specifying a "tap action" when tapping on the icon. (A bug in Nova appears to prevent enabling "swipe to open" while having no "tap action".)
For the "tap action", the user can select almost anything, including any available shortcut or any available activity
(but not manually entering an activity
string). I just want to figure out how to specify opening the "Manage apps & device" page for the "tap action".

I am contemplating getting a Nova Prime launcher, as opposed to my current combination of Nova free and Folder Organizer.
The main feature of Folder Organizer that I see as a must-have and not sure if possible on Nova is an easy way to find ALL of your installed un-labeled apps (via "Other Applications automatic label") so you can work on relabeling/foldering them (assuming your goal is to have a proper folder for every app you have).
**Is there such a feature (easily find all not-in-folders installed apps) in Nova Prime?**
If not, a second subquestion is, is there a good replacement launcher among those well known (Apex, GO, etc...) that has such a feature?

I tried opening the app drawer and holding down in an empty area to see if the option comes up to create a widget, but it doesn't. I am using Nova Launcher.
In other words, how can I launch a Tasker Task from the app drawer?

On my Samsung S10 with Nova as the main launcher, I'm noticing that for a few days now I don't have a status bar when on my home screen. The status bar is there when I'm working from inside any application, but as soon as I move the the home screen, it is pulled up somehow (literally, I see it moving up and disappearing). I can easily get it back by just swiping my finger from the top of the screen just a bit downwards which is why I don't think this is a bug or the launcher somehow covering it. But I'd prefer for the status bar to remain visible all the time.
I'm really not aware of anything I have done to cause this. I might have pressed something by mistake but I did not tinker with my phone in some meaningful way.
I tried googling this but all I get is results about how to show or hide notifications or icons within the status bar. When it comes to hiding and unhiding the status bar, I could only find development examples but as mentioned, I have never developed anything on this phone, it's also not rooted.
Some help on this would be much appreciated.

Now I am trying to assign the activity to chrome so that when I swipe the chrome icon it opens the chrome in incognito mode.
I have tried assigning the activities from chrome but it does not have separate incognito function.
So I was wondering to any of you guys know anything of this sort can be done.

I've been using Nova Prime for about 5 years, which includes doing at least 10-20 settings backup-and-restore on various devices.
Today I made one another (on my Motorola Moto Z2 Play / Android 8.0 Oreo) and to my extreme surprise I have noticed that all my (restored) contacts widgets have a nasty "main" app (i.e. Contacts) icon overlay over each my contact's photo.
Picture worth thousand words -- before (left) sending Z2 to repair and after getting it back (right):
Analysis so far:
- the problem is only with Contacts; other widgets (Wikipedia and Fancy Widgets in my case) have no "main" app icon overlay,
- happens on both widgets restored from Nova Prime's backup and freshly added,
- happens on Motorola Moto Z2 only (i.e. does not happen on Motorola One),
- happens on Motorola Moto Z2 only this time (starting from this backup restore), since I hadn't this problem for past half year, prior to sending this phone for a repair.
Questions:
- does anyone else experiences similar problem?
- what is its source: is it caused by recent change to Contacts or Nova Prime?
- is there any workaround or a way to get rid of this nasty little thing?
I am adding a contact-shortcut widget by:
- opening Contacts app (default app under 8.0 Oreo?),
- finding given contact and tapping it to get to details,
- tapping three-dot and selecting _Create shortcut_ from menu.
The only difference that I noticed is that prior to this backup restore (prior to sending my Moto Z2 for a repair and getting it back) and on every other device I am getting shortcut created right after above (right after tapping _Create shortcut_). While this time and on this Moto Z2 I see some new, additional _Add to Home screen_ window, where I have to tap _Add_.
I assume (given above) that the problem's source is Nova Prime, not Contacts app.
I am using Motorola Moto Z2 Play (XT-1710-09) with Nova Prime 6.0 on board Android 8.0 Oreo.

There are two things that I'm trying to stop
1- When you swipe up from the bottom of the screen and you see apps and can switch between them
2- When you swipe horizontally on the dock bar and it takes you to the most recent app

Customization beyond just the app drawer and home screen?
I have a Motorola E4 running Nougat, and I was wondering if there was a way to customize the colors (and fonts if possible) used in the GUI menus? I have Nova launcher installed, and while it is nice to be able to tweak the app drawer and Home screen, it can't do much more than that AFAIK. Thanks.
