For example in this screenshot, the Dropbox (center row in the left) icon is an android icon. This happens to me from time to time with many different applications.
The bad icon works properly: It still opens the application normally.
If I grab the dropbox from the all-apps folder and drag-and-drop a new shortcut, it displays correctly:
" class="img-fluid rounded" style="max-width: 100%; height: auto; margin: 10px 0;" loading="lazy">
If I remove the bad icon, and leave only the correct icon it seems all normal:
" class="img-fluid rounded" style="max-width: 100%; height: auto; margin: 10px 0;" loading="lazy">
Questions
===
1. Why does this happen and how can I prevent it happening in the future?
1. Is there any way to "reset" all the bad icons in one shot?

I currently do that via [Image Asset Studio](https://developer.android.com/studio/write/create-app-icons#access) , but it's monotonic work that seems easy to automate.
Is there a way to generate those images automatically?
## What I thought about
1. Using convert
(imagemagick): I'm uncertain how to apply the rounding though.
2. A Python package: I haven't found anything on pypi
3. Running Image Asset Studio via command line: [seems not to be possible](https://stackoverflow.com/q/74330586/562769)

How do I change this back to normal or is it corrupted &/or non-repairable?

How to make an invisible (transparent/blank) app icon in Nova Launcher?
In Nova Launcher Prime 6.x, how does one make an app's icon invisible (completely transparent / blank)? I can try to find (or create) an icon pack that contains a blank icon (preferably on F-Droid), but I'm hoping there is a faster solution.

Unfortunately, every time I restart my phone, it defaults back to circle, and I have to manually change it to squircle again.
Is there a way to lock this setting so it won't reset when the phone is reset, so I won't lose my squircles?

Yesterday I installed a suggested update on my Huawei nova3i, to EMUI version 9.1.0
There is one change which I don't like. Many apps installed from the app store used to have round icons, but now they have square icons.
See in this before and after, how the 'Calm', 'MeeWee' and 'Vimeo' icons have changed shape:
(We can also see that the icons grew a little bit larger, which I don't really find appealing either.)
**Is it possible to restore the old look, with smaller round icons for apps from the App Store?**
(I am willing to install a theme if I have to, but I don't really want the default icons, wallpapers and text to change!)

My friend is using a device running MIUI 12.5.1.
They have installed some app, and then some kind of magic happened, in which they were told by the device that it would be cleaning up / removing icons of unused applications - even though the app had been used; and the icon went away. Now, they want to restore the icon. The app appears to be installed when examining Settings | Apps | Manage Apps.
My friend reports they can't find the icon anywhere, i.e. hasn't just been moved (although TBH when they told me this I got suspicious it's in some folder they're missing).
How can I restore the app icon? I've searched the Settings, and have not found anywhere this might be possible; app screen customization also only offers widgets, not app icons.

I have a strong personal preference against adaptive icons. I hate how they make everything look the same and less distinctive. I know apps are required to have them, but most apps still also package a "legacy" icon that has a distinct shape. It seems like every launcher uses the adaptive icons if available though and the extent of their customization in regards to icons is choosing which shape you want every single app to be.
I also know some icon packs change the shapes of some apps, but I want the apps' styles, not the icon packs', and I want *all* icons with legacy icons to use them.
Is there any current way to have this option to not use adaptive icons? I'm on a Pixel, so fairly close to stock Android.
