Just to keep things short, I was blocked practically everywhere by someone. One day, I accidentally sent a questionable SMS to them. I just hope that there is no chance that they'd ever read it.
I've read somewhere that Android pushes the SMS messages into a separate inbox, meaning that the person can view them one day if they access that inbox. That would kind of defeat the purpose of the blocking feature a bit. I just hope they never get read.
The phone in question here is a Motorola phone, which I assume has very little bloatware (being close to stock Android). Will my messages ever be read?

Block calls and SMS based on pattern
I use Callblocker currently, but the unwanted calls come from different numbers each with the same first 5 digits. Is there a way to block them based on this pattern, preferably free apps?

Block SMS without number
In India, we often receive SMSs which do not actually have a number, but instead, have a name like 'VK-AMSWAN'. In India, we often receive SMSs which do not actually have a number, but instead, have a name like 'VK-AMSWAN'. SMS blockers like Truecaller don't have any facility to recognise such senders and keep asking for a number to block.
When using third-party SMS apps like Chomp SMS, there is an option to show the contact number below the contact name. Guess what it shows for the spam?
- VK-AMSWAN (name)
- VKAMSWAN (where the number shows up for other contacts)
How do I block such senders? I cannot blanket block all unknown SMSs because even banking information comes from such named senders.
It seems SMS blocking isn't as well developed as call blocking is. Truecaller actually rejects spam calls without you ever knowing about them. No SMS blocker I've seen has this facility so far. All they do is receive the messages and hide them. If someone can locate a method to fully block spam SMS, please do tell. :)

Is it possible to have an SMS app that can block some kind of SMS (i.e. where text contains "XYZ" phrases), but I don't want it to be set as the default SMS app? I've seen something like [SMS Radar](https://github.com/tuenti/SmsRadar) but don't know if that can do the task.

The Google Phone app now reports when a suspected call is spam. Right now when I receive such a call, I have the choice to block that number. But what I'd like to do is pre-emptively set it up so that any such call is automatically blocked without my intervention.
I've investigated apps like Root Call Blocker Pro, and while they seem to do the silent, transparent blocking I'm after, it seems to require me actively maintaining a black list, entering the phone numbers I want to block. I'd like to rely on the Google's suspicions to block them. How can I set this up?
Alternately, might this be something my carrier can handle on a network-level? I'd be happy to pay for a relatively cheap app or work up a tasker/etc solution, but I'd rather not pay AT&T for a monthly service.

I want to put someone on a blacklist so I can't see when he calls me or what messages he sends to me. *This is the easy part*. I am using a `MOTO-G6` and it runs on `Android-8.0.0`. the default SMS app is Google-Messages. I am getting tons of annoying spam SMS from contacts with no numbers. It just shows a name for example: VKHLTCHK HPFAMDOC HPYESBNK ... ... I can block these contacts, But I still do receive sms from these...

It is not Three I am trying to block just using them as an example. I cannot add three to contact to perform block options that does not work. What is even more infuriating is that I cannot find a number to block its just "Three" with no phone number to be discovered anywhere.
How can I block these annoying text messages that are not even in my phones contacts.
I am using the default messaging app on the samsung galaxy s7 edge, fully updated, no modifications made.
Long pressing does not work either.
