My WhatsApp-1 (+91000000000) has 11000+ items and WhatsApp-2 (+9111111111) has around 900 items. I had a Samsung Galaxy S20FE phone, and I used WhatsApp (not the Business one) app, and my primary no. was (+91000000000). With the add 2nd account feature, I have added (+9111111111) and I was working with "Switch accounts". Yesterday, I purchased an iPhone 13 Pro and started using the Chat transfer option through the Move to iOS app. I saw 11000 items being transferred for a while and this was interrupted overnight. When I checked my Samsung phone in the morning, I could see only one account which is (+9111111111), and on my iPhone, it was asking me to resume the transfer or reset. I have tried multiple times and the resume option was not working. I had to reset my iPhone. Now, I tried to set up (+91000000000) this account in Samsung though the second phone 900 items only mapped to this number, and even if I try to transfer to the iPhone, only these 900 items are transferred. I am sure I have this backup in Google Drive and local backup, not sure how to get WhatsApp-1 chats backup. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In WhatsApp Group chat, when other person is typing when I am actively looking at the group conversation chat, I could see who is typing at the other end. That conversely also means, when I am typing in a group chat, other people too can see me typing. I checked the FAQ Section of WhatsApp. Could not found any settings mentioned for this. **Is there a way to disable showing "Me typing..." to other people in a group chat when I am typing?** Wanted to surprise them by my post directly :)

I am trying to find out privacy settings behind the Wi-Fi chat offered by... Samsung? It is built into my S10e as an additional chat service with little to no information about it. It's free and enables chat over Wi-Fi and to groups of users who have the feature enabled. It also enables Android users to see when others who have the service are typing like on the iPhone. My concern is privacy. If it's free, how do I know that I am not the product here?

I just got my new phone (Vodafone Smart Prime 6) and have a function called 'Chat' when in Message settings. The messages sent on this chat function are shown in green (compared to the blue ones when sending a standard SMS). They also show when somebody is typing and when the message was read. At first, I thought those are Google Hangouts, but I could not find them under the Hangout webpage on https://hangouts.google.com , which led me to the conclusion that those are not Hangout chats. Could you tell me which service this is, and more importantly -> is there any chance to back up those messages (either via textfile export or as a file that can be imported to a new -same model- phone)? I am running Android 5.0.2. You can see a screenshot of that settings menu on the link underneath.

Samsung A54, which had WhatsApp installed with two phone numbers, broke down. Google Drive contains backups of both the phone itself and WhatsApp chats (size 3.1 GB). I'm trying to set one phone number on Samsung A7 as a second number. WhatsApp detects the backup but cannot restore it due to an error. If you choose to restore chats from an old copy, the recovery process holds on. This happens with each of the two phone numbers, that is, it does not depend on the size of the backup. At the same time, if you skip restoring chats, WhatsApp still restores everything except chats in the amount of 3.1 GB. Has anyone met a similar situation and is there any way to restore chat history? P.S. There is no option to reinstall WhatsApp, because there is no access to the main number on the Samsung A7 and no way to receive SMS.

I was reading this about archiving chat and it says: > You won’t get notifications for archived chats unless you’re mentioned > or replied to. Does that mean that if I have a chat with an individual and the last message to them was from me, if I archive it, when the person sends a new message it will considered a reply and I will get a notification? What I was trying to do is "push" some chats to the bottom of the list and archive seems the only option to do such "housekeeping". I want to make sure I don't lose a reply/message too.

Hi all, I've been trying to identify what app this chat icon (outlined in red) is from. It's a screenshot from a Samsung phone in the USA. It's not the native Samsung or Google messages app. It has a right facing arrow inside of a speech bubble. I've tried googling but only come up with stock images for app developers. This is from a screenshot I received so I can't go into the phone and see what the notification is from. Anyone have any idea?

A few days ago, my Whatsapp deleted all my messages and media. Luckily those are still in my internal folder. Is there any way to restore my Whatsapp chats and media from my internal storage as there is no backup for that?

I recently moved from iPhone to Android, now I want to transfer all my WhatsApp chats to my new Android phone from iPhone, but the problem is WhatsApp doesn't have any feature to transfer chats between different platforms, so I was looking for third-party apps which can make this possible, but no luck till now, please share your thoughts and experiences.

Suppose two people are on a plane, a few meters apart, with Android smartphones without internet access, and would like to communicate by text messages and if possible also by audio call, using Wifi or Bluetooth (both allowed on this plane). How can this be achieved? So far I have only been able to think of very complicated solutions, like using XMPP clients on the two phones, or Mumble clients on the two phones, setting up an XMPP server or a Mumble server on one of the phones, and communicating by Wifi, the main problem being that I haven't been able to find any XMPP or Mumble server for Android, so the only way out I have devised would be to install a Linux distro on one of the Android phones and inside of it, a standard XMPP or Mumble server. This is very heavy. Surely there must be easier solutions. Many thanks in advance.

I have got new phone and in that I have lost my whatsapp chat backup as i have skipped to restore and the last backup has been overwriiten by new backup. Is there nay way I can get last backup in my new phone without having old phone

I've been using WhatsApp with my best friend for years and he swapped his prepaid simcard (old phone with with number = X) with a new prepaid simcard (new phone with number Y) recently. When he sent me the first message using the new phone with number Y, I received a new chat window because his number Y was not registered on my phone contact's list. When getting this new chat, I blocked the number because it was unknown to me. When he gave his new number Y, I added it to his contact record on my phone but chats didn't merge together and this is not what I had expected, because now I have our two separate chats: the old one and the new one. How can I merge the 2 chat windows together and keep only the one with the whole chat/calls/medias history? As an admin, I deleted first all the members of the group, left it and then deleted the group. Can the other members still see the messages?

Seems like WhatsApp update has erased all my WhatsApp history. Is there any way to get it back? (Without paying for third party tools, if possible) I bought a new Android phone (Realme 7 Pro) and wanted to transfer my WhatsApp data from the old iPhone to the new Android phone. Seems like there is no way to do it easily so I had to buy a third party app that helped me to transfer the data. I connected both phones using USB, the app read WhatsApp messages from my old iPhone, then installed WhatsApp on my new Android phone and imported all the messages. After the successful migration I deleted WhatsApp on my old iPhone and all seemed to be fine. Then I was experiencing certain problems with WhatsApp and got a suggestion that I might need to update it. I then found WhatsApp in Play Store and there was a button reading "Install" on it. I got a bit surprised about why it says "Install" rather than "Update" but I thought that's just the way it is on Android. I then downloaded WhatsApp and got 2 WhatsApps on my desktop. I tried running the new one and it asked me to confirm the number. I then closed it and wanted to open the old one and realised that it was gone... I don't have backup of my WhatsApp history on iCloud either so I can't get it from there. I have previously backed up my iPhone using iTunes though so I might be able to get something from there, but still wondering what has gone wrong on my Android phone. How could WhatsApp installation just completely bin everything from the previous version?.. Thank you very much for any information/suggestions :)

So I backed up my whatsapp a month ago and then while restoring I was not able to find a wifi source so it just stopped restoring media, only the chats were restored. Now after a month use I have more chats and some media, what do I do to bring back all the older media and keep all the latest chats and media?

Someone deleted me on their contacts because I can't see their profile photo anymore. I just want to know if ever our chat box is not deleted on his/her WhatsApp app, Will he/she see changes on my profile photo or status after deleting me on his/her contacts if he kept the chat box?

I am running a **Rocket.Chat** server of my own and everything works fine with almost all mobile device clients (official 3.5.0) using it. So **GCM** and gateway (*gateway.rocket.chat*) work as should and notifications are showing correctly. Except one phone that has **LineageOS 16** flashed is not showing **Rocket.Chat** notifications although every other aspect do work with the app. is this a known issue with **LineageOS 16**? If not how could I find out what is going wrong? So howto fix it or is it even possible? *I did try to search but did not find any relevant information about this issue yet.*
