I was reading this about archiving chat and it says:

Does that mean that if I have a chat with an individual and the last message to them was from me, if I archive it, when the person sends a new message it will considered a reply and I will get a notification?
What I was trying to do is "push" some chats to the bottom of the list and archive seems the only option to do such "housekeeping". I want to make sure I don't lose a reply/message too.

I exported my chat history with my friend, JJ, to my Google drive. Somehow a chat history between JJ and someone else (Meg) was exported. I have no idea who Meg is and i have no record of her in Whatsapp or anywhere on my phone.
I tried again and my chat with JJ was exported and saved. However,it did export Meg's a few more times as well.
It seems very wrong that i have a stranger's chat history with my friend saved on my drive.
Any ideas how this happened? I'm on Samsung Note 8.

1. Somehow introduce A's chat history to account B by modifying Whatsapp databases.
2. Then doing a change number of B to A. (This step will delete old A account)
I want help with the first step.
PS: I have looked online on how to merge Whatsapp databases but they all address merging databases of same account here I have to different accounts and also all articles on it are really old.

On my new Android phone I accidentally (yes...) deleted a complete chat I never exported before. Looking for ways to recover it I didn't find the ultimate solution. While I could restore the chat pictures (they weren't actually deleted) I couldn't find a way to restore the messages which are far more important to me.
I still have my old Android phone that I used until a month ago that never connected to the Internet since I deleted the chat. So, if the messages are somehow stored locally, it still has the deleted chat (obviously but for the last month, but that would be better than losing everything). I didn't dare to start the device since the chat loss as I want to understand the implications first.
* Does Telegram store the chat messages locally or only on the server?
* If storing them locally, how can I export them? I guess I need an internet-less solution as a synchronization would obviously delete the chat on my old phone as well. I could only find the Desktop-Telegram-based export, but no other suitable solution.
I'm afraid I guess I'll get a "you're screwed" answer but I want to give the community a last chance to help me before eventually giving up hope.

I hoped I'd be able to recover the chats after signing in with my new phone number, but this isn't happening on its own.
Furthermore, I can no longer log in with the old phone number (as it is deprecated), and cannot do the number transfer.
1. Is there any way to force a recovery of previous whatsapp chats on a
phone with a new number?
2. If not, is there at least a way to access the text content of the
backup files (either on Gdrive, or on the sd card) from e.g. a
computer, or are all the chats definitely gone?
(*)*a similar question was posted here , but is unanswered and only refers to restoring from gdrive, whereas my question also mentions a local backup, and the ability to access the chats even from a different platform as whatsapp.*

I have a chat with a lot of voice messages, pictures and chat messages that I would like to completely export to my laptop, so that I can listen to the voice messages, view the pictures and read the complete chat history.
The 'email chat' option only exports a small portion of the text and voice messages and just 8-10 pictures. As for the 'back up chats' option - I don't know what to do with the created files - as far as I understood from googling, they are meant to be read by WhatsApp itself - not by you on a PC/Laptop.

Initially, I installed Viber to my phone (2 years ago). Then a year ago, I installed it to my computer and a few months later to my tablet. After I installed it on my computer and tablet, the history of all messages were synced to all devices and whatever I did on any device, it was automatically available to all devices. That's the thing that I LOVE about Viber and that's why I use it as my default messaging app.
However, I bought a new tablet and I installed Viber on it, but this time there's no history on it. It's synchronized with other devices since I installed Viber, but there's no history on the new tablet before the date I installed it.
Any ideas?

I noticed that when I go to Contacts > History, the last entry for SMS history is February. All text messages made from then on is no longer being logged in the History view. However, all call history seems to be fine.
I have searched my phone but couldn't find a setting to enable/disable the text message history logging. Anybody knows how to fix this?

Update: It appears to be malfunctioning. I texted 8 different contacts today, it only logged 1.

How to disable Gtalk chat history?
Am I missing something or is there no way to disable Gtalk history by default? Clearing separate conversations is a pain. If history can't be turned off, is there at least a way to wipe the whole Gtalk history at once somehow? (using android2.2) thank you
