How to fix HP printer only printing blank page when trying to print from Android phone?

I have a HP 5520 connected via WiFi, I can print from a Windows PC, I can print from an iPhone, yet once I try printing from an Android phone (e.g. Samsung 10e, One Plus 9 Pro) all I get is one white page. The Android phones are on Android versions 13 to 14. The Android phones can see the printer, I can also access the printer's internal server. The phones have the apps [HP Smart](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hp.printercontrol) and the [HP print service plugin](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hp.android.printservice) installed. The only way it would print is to use the ePrint feature, which basically turns my home based printer into a cloud-printer and I find it unreasonable to send private data from an Android phone per email to HP servers. This may be a workaround for someone, but ia no option for me. I tried factory resetting the printer, yet still: when printing from Android phones all I get is one blank page. Is there any way I can fix that or is this a known bug?

How to print files using the Android's Default Print Service?

I'm on Android Oreo which is version 8. This has introduced a way to no longer need any services outside of the Android OS and instead [use its "Default Printing Service"](https://9to5google.com/2017/08/22/android-8-0-oreos-default-print-service/) for printing with an Android phone. These outside services include *Google's Cloud Print, HP, Canon, Xerox, & several others.* Besides those services, you may stick with the built-in one provided by Android itself and it's called "Default Print Service by Android", and in order to begin using it, you'll first have to enable it if not done so already. To do this, go to Settings -> Advanced -> Printing -> Select it, then enable. Now, what it'll do is search for the printers in your network and you know this by what WiFi you're on using your phone. The problem is, after the list refreshes, you can't go any further. It just let you know: *these are the printers in your network and nothing more.* I see the printer I'm going to use to print to, but unable to do anything more than to identify that it's in my network by displaying an IP underneath it. So, I did [online research with those responsible](https://mopria.org/android-8-9-faq#collapse1) and that didn't help because there's no instructions as to how to print. So then, I'm left with a recognized printer not being able to have the option to print or at least show me how to get to the option to print. My question is **how do you print from Android using the Default Print Service besides just using it as a tool to view printers in your network?** # PROBLEM * Android's "Default Print Service" only shows printers but is unable to choose a printer for printing + An example of me printing is viewing a PDF document and for Android, you have to either find the following options when viewing a file via cogwheel/3-button icon: - *Share...* - *Send To...* - *Open With...* + At this point I don't see "Default Print Service" as a selection and this is the problem # SOLUTION * None-so-far #### NOTE * Finding "Default Print Service" in Android may vary with different phones + Location: Settings -> Advanced -> Printing * Files can be images to anything with text like a PDF or even a txt file

We have a number of Android tablets at my workplace for access to an internal web application. We would like to print from this application from the tablets and have a number of compatible printers on our network. However every tablet can "see" every printer and the users become confused as to which printer they should print to, sometimes printing to a printer that is not even in the same building let alone near them. Is there a way of managing the list of printers in Android to restrict (and ideally rename) which printers each tablet can "see"?

Make android device to be a print server

I am using Android 11. I could not get the version of Chrome I am using. I am using an OTG connector with a USB cable to connect my Android phone to my printer Ricoh Aficio SP C320DN. I'm also using the NokoPrint Android app. In Chrome's desktop version, I can tell the browser to print background images through checking the "Background Graphics" option under more settings. I need to do the same on the mobile version. But I can not find the option when printing. Does it exist somewhere? Or does not it exist at all? P.S. I am developing an app using Oracle APEX and I need to enable users to print the web page themselves. Telling users to tick a checkbox or change a browser setting could be sufficient. It's been days since I am surfing the web, but all solutions do not work as expected.

I'm printing from my Samsung Galaxy Note10+ to a Xerox VersaLink C405 and the default print settings are not what I want: Print settings dialog (Ignore the number of pages; this is just to serve as an example.) I want to use Letter paper and double-sided printing as default. But changes to the settings here are not retained for future jobs. I could not find anything in the system settings or the "More options" dialog that would let me set the defaults. I can otherwise print without issues. The phone is running One UI 4.1 (Android 12) and has the Xerox print service plugin installed. Is there some way to change the default print settings?

Now how do I print to it by using my android device? I found HP ePrint and Google's Cloud print, but they tend to go over the internet to connect to my printer, which is quite the detour since I'm on the same network as the printer anyways. So is there a way to print directly to the printer from my Android device?

On a Moto G (5) Plus running Android 8.1.0, API 27, I have Default Print Service under Settings > Connected devices > Printing. When I click on Default Print Service it starts searching for printers, which doesn't return anything, even though my printer and phone are on 192.168.3.x (my home LAN). I can click the 3 dot menu and click Add printer, then under *Add manual printer*, I type the IP address of the printer, but the result is immediate: > Printer not supported The printer is connected to the LAN through a JetDirect 300X (yes, very old technology). But the printer works fine when configured to receive output from Windows machines. On Windows, I put in the IP address, Port Number 9100, protocol Raw. The driver is HP LaserJet5, which comes with Windows. Beyond the default print service, I also tried and HP Print Service that I found on GooglePlay, but I could not find a way to manually add a printer using that. Is there a way to get my phone to print to this LAN connected printer?

I would like to use a Brother HL-L2300D printer (USB printer) to print from my phone and tablet in my home network for convenience without the document going through a third party server or first turning on a PC. Right now I have connected the printer via USB to my router a FritzBox 7530. ---------- I tried printing a test page with the app PrintBot (not yet purchased), which did work but I'm not so sure whether such an app ends up sending the documents to a server in order to process it to be able to print it, which I do not want for privacy reasons. I also tried Let's Print Droid but it does not work (probably because it seems to have no driver for low end Brother printers?). I would prefer an open source app or at least an app that does not send the documents I'm printing (paid is fine) to a third party server. If it really is not possible to print with this printer from an android device without a print server first processing the document I'll either just continue to turn on my PC every time when I need to print (when it's not already on anyway, obviously) something or buy a Raspberry Pi and run my own local print server.

What should I search for to make sure I get a compatible printer. Also, can this work without an internet connection? (assuming I managed to cache the page or pull up the page in Chrome) I need to be able to print reliable even in spotty internet.

If there's a way to get the printer to still work with my phone, that'd be great for my studies. P. S. My printer doesn't support wireless printing. It is an EPSON L3100 printer. I've tried apps such as Epson iPrinting and NokoPrint (it's just a highly rated app). Neither of these worked. Here's a screenshot of the details of my phone enter image description here
