And they all require mobile data to be turned on - but then why is it that most mobile phones, including mine, have Radio built in? The only problem with my built-in Samsung Radio is that it needs the earphones to work. I've tried through the loudspeaker, but they all need mobile data. Are there any radio apps that work offline?

I downloaded tons of offline translation packages for Google Translate some time ago. Then at some point, I must have done something, maybe an update or a setting change (perhaps that Primary Language thing that kept popping up every time I opened Translate?), and suddenly all of the packages have vanished. Moreover, when I go under the top-left corner dropdown menu and choose "Offline translation", I end up here: > Image after getting a message "Can't get offline packages list" (or that pops up after those two blue texts appear, which varies from time to time), and none of those is a link. How do I get my offline translation back?

I've been using Google Voice Typing for quite some time as it's fast and convenient compared to typing on the phone keyboard. However, I speak multiple languages, and when I use the Google Voice software, if I enable different languages, the software is supposed to "auto detect" the language I speak, but it makes mistakes all the time. One way for me to get around this is to only select the language I want to speak in and deselect the other languages, but it gets tedious to do. There are a lot of languages that Google Voice Typing supports now and to search for the language I want to speak can be a bit of a pain when I need to reply to several messages in a short amount of time in different languages. My understanding is that there is no "long press" or a simple "language toggle" button for Google Voice Typing, but is there any way to set something like "favorite languages" so they can be displayed at the top so the languages are easier to find? I remember some of the older versions of Google Voice Typing would go by the keyboard language that's on, so as I switched the keyboard language, Google Voice Typing would only be picking up what I say in that language, which worked out much better for me. At the same time, I notice that when I don't have the best internet connection, it can take FOREVER for the Google Voice Typing to work. If I go offline (airplane mode, turn off data, etc.) then it works great because Google Voice Typing goes to offline mode. Is there any way to force the phone to always be in offline mode for Google Voice Typing? Since we can download each diction library offline already, I would hope there's a way or some kind of code that can force the software to use the offline library rather than trying to connect to the server every time.

I have been following the tutorial to try and set it up, so that I can operate my phone and the user interface that it and its various apps provide entirely via voice. I am trying to download the US English language package from Italy. However, a language update was necessary to use it offline, and, as a result, the Voice Access tutorial stalls, as it takes forever. Here is a screenshot: > Image

I bought an Android 11 phone at the end of last year (the phone itself is a no name: "Kruger&Matz"). I started using pre-installed Calendar app -- strictly offline, with no syncing to any account, linking to any cloud etc. It worked perfectly for eight months. Couple of weeks ago (I may or may not have been a little drunk) I let my Google account to sync with all apps, including calendar. Since then, when I open the calendar, it's completely empty, all my previous entries are gone. (I checked my account's calendar's "Trash" folder on desktop, nothing there either.) The calendar stays empty after refreshing it, denying account's access, even when I completely remove all accounts from the phone. Is there a possibility to retrieve the older version of the calendar with all previous entries, or is it lost forever? (I haven't tried to disable or force-stop the calendar app.) Thanks in advance for all the answers and/or ideas. P.S. I really hope you understand my problem, since I'm quite illiterate when it comes to technologies, so I might have said something illogical or plain stupid. Thanks again!

Version 0.2.29 of microG removed support for UnifiedNLP location provider back-ends (due to technical issues with newer Android versions), and instead built the functionality of some of these backends into microG. That includes the ability to scan for cell towers and WiFis in range and build a local database with them (formerly provided by the Déjà-Vu location providers) and the ability to query Mozilla Location Service (at least until that service was discontinued, but services with a compatible API would still work). Now I am wondering if there is a way to import an existing database into microG to be queried locally (there used to be modules for mobile and wifi networks that could do this). Format is not that important – I can convert that as needed, if needed. Unfortunately, since MicroG is a system app, I am somewhat reluctant to upgrading it just to find out, as I have never tried going back to an earlier version if something fails. The phone is my daily driver (i.e. production), not something I would want to carry out tests on. So – does microG provide a way to import cell/wifi databases?

I just received an email notification that Google Play Music would be discontinued later this year, and instructing me to transfer my library over to YouTube Music (I haven't done this yet). I am possibly an atypical user — my entire Play Music library is music that I ripped from CDs and uploaded to my account. I also am often in places without reliable WiFi and I don't like to use data for streaming audio, so I prefer to have my entire library stored locally. To this end I have my entire Play Music library downloaded onto an external SD card on my phone. Will I be able to do the same thing with YouTube Music? All of the information I have read online (for example official blog ) says that "paying members" will be able to download music for offline listening. Does that mean that I won't be able to download my *own* music to my device without paying for the privilege? **EDITED TO ADD:** A few people have asked, in the comments, why I even want to bother with a cloud-based music platform, if I plan on always having my music locally stored. This is a fair question, one I ought to have originally addressed! The reason is that it makes synchronization simple: every time I add a new song or album to my Play Music library (which I usually do from my home desktop computer) it is automatically available not only on my phone (where I can download it to keep available offline) and on my work desktop computer. Similarly if I create a playlist on one device it is automatically available on all of my other ones. Since Play Music is going away, my hope is that Youtube Music will be able to take its place -- otherwise I will have to start all over with a new platform, which I would prefer to avoid.

There are situations when I require to save a "complete" web page for offline reading. I can easily do that on Windows by saving the web page, but not on Android. I am using _Chrome_ on Android and I don't see a _"Save"_ option. Instead, I see _"Save link"_ which, I believe, saves "only" the _"pure HTML"_ version of a site of which the link leads to. I have tried this, but when I view it in the _HTML Viewer_, a lot of necessary CSS formatting and all the images were lost, which made the information misleading and incomplete respectively. I thought I downloaded the complete page and the fault was that of the HTML Viewer for not rendering everything, but I was wrong, as the desktop Chrome also displayed the "only HTML" version when I transferred those pages to my laptop through _Bluetooth_. So, my question is: **How can I download "a complete" web page on my Android smartphone?** It's OK if I can't view it on my smartphone, but everything should be in place when I view it on my laptop after transferring it. It is also OK if it is saved as a PDF file. P.S. I'm asking this as I use the internet very often on my smartphone because my laptop is not connected to the internet. Also, I want to transfer it to my laptop because I don't want to view those "important" pages on a small screen, it's inconvenient.

I use Google Maps on my PC and have some favorite places added there. On my phone, I want to use an offline map. On my old phone, I used [RMaps](https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/RMaps) with whole city maps downloaded with [Mobile Atlas Creator](https://mobac.sourceforge.io/) and manually added favorites and POIs on it. Now I bought a new phone and found out that RMaps is no longer available. I'd like to add favorites/POIs to Google Maps and make sure they will be available with a whole city map when the phone is offline. But I don't want to be somewhere and open Android Google Maps and find out some tile for that area wasn't downloaded. The best solution I see is to download the whole map from Google Maps or OSM and store the map on the phone and use some app that's able to open this offline map file and at the same time sync favorites/POIs with Google Maps. I tried OsmAnd, but when I create a POI on it, it fails due to some authentication error. It's not trying to connect to Google, because other apps are able to sync with Google Apps. But there's no setting to add login data or create a new account. Could somebody suggest a way to properly handle offline maps and sync favorites with Google Maps?
