How to just block one person's LINE group posts without blocking the person entirely?

How can I block User B's boring posts,
but not block User B's direct messages to me,
in case one day they want to send me one?
As a matter of fact, User B is an expert at saying "Good morning."
And wouldn't you know it, they do so every time the morning sunshine hits them in the right spot. Cloudy days excluded.
So I suppose I would have to rig up a *regexp* filter.
That way I could still be aware if they were having a bad morning and needed help.
Alas, this is not an email box that I could run *procmail* on, but the tightly sealed LINE app.
So I suppose I would need a LINE to email robot...

LINE app only resends first picture. How to detect and deal with?
In the LINE app chats, I was offline when sending a group of photos. Now I am online and press the swirl and choose "resend". The time appears, meaning the resend worked, but my friend says he only got one photo! I am at my wit's end.

**NOTE**: I see the following similar discussion here:
https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/139248/how-to-restore-line-messages-from-titanium-backup
Although that discussion offers a suggestion that might partially apply to what I want to ask here, it does not confirm the validity of that suggestion. Therefore, it does not actually answer my following question:
I'm thinking of switching to
microG
, but a stumbling block is LINE Messenger
. I know that it can run under microG
, but I also know that it can't normally back up and restore LINE Messenger
chat history without access to Google Drive
.
I have an idea of how I might be able to bypass this restriction, but I'm wondering if it actually would be feasible. Here's my idea ...
(1) Under my current non-microG
Android OS, take a backup of /data/data/jp.naver.line.android
(2) Install microG
, and then install LINE Messenger
.
(3) Restore the previously backed up jp.naver.line.android
to /data/data
under the microG
OS.
(4) Take periodic backups of /data/data/jp.naver.line.android
as I use LINE
under microG
.
(5) If i ever want to restore my LINE
history under microG
, repeat step 3 with the latest jp.naver.line.android
backup.
A variation might be to only back up and restore one or more appropriate sqlite
databases that are resident within /data/data/jp.naver.line.android
, instead of that entire directory tree.
I'm willing to experiment with this approach, but before I do, I'm wondering whether anyone has tried anything like this with LINE Messenger
under microG
.
Thank you in advance for any thoughts and suggestions.
**UPDATE**: Thanks to @Andrew-T for the pointer to the other discussion that I missed, which indeed confirms that backup and restore for the database under /data/data/jp.naver.line.android
can actually be done.
I'm just wondering if anyone has actually gotten something like this to work specifically under microG
. I'd like to switch to microG
, but it would give me more confidence to take that step if anyone has already been able to do this in order to get full LINE
functionality under that OS, including backup and restore.
**FURTHER UPDATE**: That other discussion is more than 7 years old, and sadly, it turns out that the information is outdated. The /data/data/jp.naver.line.android/databases
directory that is referred to in that article doesn't contain the database that is mentioned. Furthermore, I checked each and every other database in that directory, and none of them contain any chat history.
I also checked all of the other files and directories under /data/data/jp.naver.line.android
, and none of them contain any chat history, either.
This is consistent with LINE
's decision a while ago to stop allowing local-storage backup and to make Google Drive the only location to where chat history can be backed up and restored from. In conjunction with that decision, LINE
seems to have gotten rid of all local chat history data from its device-resident databases.
So, it looks like I'm out of luck regarding non-Google-based backup and restore for LINE
.
However, I'll keep this question open for a while longer, in case it turns out that someone knows of another way I can manage Android-based LINE
backups and restores without Google being in the picture.
**PS**: Hmm ... I wonder if it would be possible to create a fake "Google Drive" service which looks just like Google Drive to LINE
, but which actually just manages a data store of my own.
I'm going to look into this and report back if I have any luck with this idea.

It looks quite difficult and I am not even sure it's correct.
Can anyone confirm before I try? Also, what is a root shell? Is that some form of an app?

At my sister's suggestion, I installed the [LINE](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.naver.line.android) app in my Galaxy S3. After a while I decided I didn't like it, so I want to uninstall it. Weirdly, when I open Settings > Application manager, there is no option to remove application, only "Uninstall update", which restore an earlier version of the app. The same situation when I open Google Play, the "Uninstall" button only uninstall the updates and restore an earlier version. Same luck with trying [an uninstaller ](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.infolife.uninstaller&hl=en) . I also read that some application may [prevent uninstallation](https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/42427/how-do-i-remove-an-app-installed-if-the-buttons-in-manage-applications-are-loc/42438) by setting itself as Device Administrator, but I check my Device Administrators and LINE isn't listed.
I only observed this behaviour before for system apps or apps that got installed by my carrier, but LINE certainly isn't such app, I installed it myself. How could they have uninstall restriction, and how can I uninstall it?

so I have the following Problem.
I had flashed the custom os anchidroid onto my s3.
It was working perfectly until recently my phone would boot and keep trying to optimise all my apps and restart and try to optimise all apps again and so on. So i googled for an answer, and i found a thread saying that its best to reinstall, so I took a twrp nandroid backup of my broken rom and reinstalled.
Now I have the problem that I dont know how to restore my apps from my twrp Backup. I tried titanium backup and Nandroid Manager. Titanium Backup essential doesnt recover my apps. It does list all my apps but when trying to recover data or data plus app it just says batch action complete, but doesnt do anything. Nandroid Manager on the other site keeps crashing when im trying to open the Backup.
I also tried extracting the twrp backup on my desktop and move the files over to my phone, but thats where my essential problem is: Is it normal that the /data/com.whatsapp f.x. is only 228kb? My whole data twrp backup is around 3gb big, with 400mb being dalvik cache and 2gb base apks and the rest being in /data/data
I would be fine with just reinstalling the apps from the google play store and not recovering chat logs, but since whatsapp and line are based on verification with a phone number this is not an option for me. I dont have my phone number to log in.
Last time I had an issue with my phone I was able to use Titanium Backup to backup Whatsapp and Line and restore then on the factory reset rom again and bypass the phone verification, but since I wasnt able to access my phone at all I wasnt able to reproduce this step.
Did I do something wrong when I tried to restore the apps or is there any other Way I could restore them from my twrp backup? Any Help is appreciated.
Im using the Android Version 5.1.1 with ARchidroid 3.1.5

I want to get back to the exact same state that I was in before I accidentally added them. In other words I want their state in regards to me and my state in regards to them to be exactly like it was before I ever added them.
On Facebook, one could simply click Unfriend.
But in LINE it is much more complicated.

In the Android app LINE , since yesterday, I started receiving spam messages like this one (below the advertisment):
The spammer (with the name

I have deleted the conversation, but more messages have kept coming yesterday and today.
Is there any way to block or report the spammer?
- I would rather not open the message.
- The long-press menu does not show any block option, only "Delete" which I tried already.

LINE is a chat application.
I recently reinstalled my OS, and restored my LINE chat history using this procedure .
Problem: Some of my chats appear like this:
It says:
> Letter Sealing
> Unable to display message as it couldn't be decrypted. Please ask your friend to resend the message.
As you can see, my friend re-sending me the message does not solve the problem.
On the messages from July 6 to the day I reinstalled have this problem.
So I disabled Letter Sealing, and now I can read new messages sent to me (but I can still not read the existing problematic messages).
Questions:
- How to make the problematic messages readable again? I still have the Titanium Backup from the former OS, if necessary.
- Is there a way to re-enable Letter Sealing while making sure that encrypted messages will stay readable even after reinstalling my OS in the future?
