I'm looking for a way to automatically answer any incoming phone calls with a voice message, i.e. an autoresponder.
So actually much like voicemail, except I don't want people to leave me messages. I just want to play a welcome message or "I'm currently not available by phone" and refer them to my email address or Whatsapp.
Upon looking around I find tons of solutions which can auto respond by SMS, i.e. sending an auto reply text message. But that's not what I'm looking for, I prefer to play back a voice message.
Is there a way to do this, either natively from within Android or with an app?

A few times a year someone who isn't in my address book might call me, but every day I get several spam/scam calls. So basically anytime I see a plain number, I swipe down to make my phone stop ringing.
I've been assuming this sends the call straight to voicemail (so that if it is legit they can leave a message) but it strikes me that "rejecting" a call might hang up completely on the caller.
What happens when I "swipe down to reject" a call from the homescreen? Is there a way I can quickly ignore a call while still leaving the other party a chance to wait for it to go through to voicemail?
This is a fairly stock phone, an "Android One" Moto x4 bought from Google Fi but it does have some extra Motorola tentacles on it.
(I'm also interested in doing this automatically, but only if it uses a built-in feature and **not** some random app that *you* happen to trust, sorry.)

How can I access "visual voicemail" without closed-source apps on GrapheneOS?
Is there an open-source dialer or other application that allows access to PIN-protected voicemail messages? I don't want to have to call my voicemail. I am running GrapheneOS.

My phone is a Samsung Galaxy A20. I have several archived voicemail messages that I am trying to listen to, but when I try to retrieve them, a message pops up that reads, "Unable to play music. This music format is not supported". It shows the path as:
/Internal storage/Music/Samsung Messages/Voice message
(along with various details specific to each message such as the other person's phone number)
I am a novice and therefore I don't understand what this means. I would just like to know how or if I can even listen to these messages in order to find the ones that I am looking for and erase those that are no longer needed.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S20 (Verizon) phone. Contacts that I blocked create new telephone numbers online to call me constantly. I want my normal unblocked contacts to ring (family, friends, doctors, others). My goal is for all numbers not in my contact list to go to voice mail before the ring. So I can use my device normally without the distraction of unknown callers.
Research shows:
- Airplane Mode inhibits the full use of my phone.
- Do not Disturb limits my notifications.
- Spam blockers do not block the new numbers people create.
- Premium voice mail only works on a known contact (I have this).
- Block from the phone or the website only works on a known contact number.
- Setting a ringtone only works on a contact already in the list.
- Changing my number is only temporary so not an option.
Many solutions have to do with a known number to manipulate. An unknown number is the bane of my existence. Can anyone help?

I want to download a backup of my voicemail messages to mp3 (or any other audio format), but I don't know how to do so.
My scenario is the following:
I received several voicemail messages during the last few months, and now I want to download them for a personal backup.
My voicemail app (built-in from the factory. Samsung galaxy A10 ) gives me the option to listen to these audios but does not give any option to download/archive/save/forward to these messages.
On my carrier website (Orange in France ), I'm able to retrieve (and download) only the last 15 days' messages. They keep the listened messages just for 14 days (30 days for the not listened ones).
I've tried to use third-party apps to download my messages (e.g., "voicemail saver" that is paid and "visual voice mail & missed call alert" that is free), but none of these apps worked to recover these messages.
My question is: since I can listen to these messages, I'm sure they are stored somewhere. So how can I retrieve them?

A certain family member deleted a very, very important voicemail from their Android (Google Pixel 4A) phone. I'm not even sure exactly when this happened.
(I understand that the content of the VM is not relevant to the question, but it was a voicemail from my wife's father, who has died, and so the message is irreplaceable and priceless to us.)
I'm working with my carrier to see if they might have a record of it, but I am not optimistic.
Is there any possible way to try to recover the audio from the phone?

When using my Verizon HTC Thunderbolt running CyanogenMod to call my wife's Verizon HTC Incredible, also running CyanogenMod, it always goes straight to Voice Mail. I can call other Verizon phones with no issue and my wife can call me with no issue and my wife can receive calls from other Verizon lines with no issue and she can call me with no issue. Issue is only from my phone to hers. I called Verizon and they said it is not a network issue and suggested an installed application might be causing the issue. They suggested to put both phones into Safe Mode boot. I was able to do this for Incredible, but failed using the directions they provided for the Thunderbolt. They said after boot starts, hold down volume down key for boot process on Thunderbolt.
How can I debug this issue of my phone going straight to Voice Mail? What would cause just my phone to experience this issue? Any advise and suggestions would be appreciated.

However, some 800-number company has been calling me constantly (which I have already added to a "block" contact which directs all calls to voicemail via Contact app menu option). However, they leave voice mails which creates this notification on my phone:
Click the image for larger variance
But I cannot swipe away this notification. It is a constant and persistent notification.
Is there a way I can either:
1. Never show voicemail notifications (without having to call T-Mobile and disable my voicemail box)
2. Swipe to remove the notification or hide the notification (via an app or similar?)
I am rooted on a stock Nexus 5.
I would have just used Google Voice as my voice mail box but apparently T-Mobile prepaid lines cannot have call forwarding so I can not use that option.

Is there any way to get Visual Voicemail working using the Phone (dialer) app on T-Mobile in the USA?
I have two open-market phones - one a factory unlocked handset from China (Unihertz Titan) running Android 9, the other a formerly-locked (to Telstra, if that matters) Galaxy S10+ running Android 10 - and neither can access visual voicemail through their in-box Phone apps. I've never had this problem before, with older Androids (back around the Android 4 days) or with the Windows phones I used until EoL (everything from WP7.x through W10M, VVM worked out of the box perfectly).
T-Mobile has a VVM app on the Play store, but even aside from the inconvenience of needing a separate app for what all my previous phones had integrated, it is... bad. It's rated 2.5 stars, and it earns it (not all voicemails showing up, generally clunky and unreliable).
I've been on the phone with T-Mobile, Samsung, and even Telstra; none could help. On the Titan, the VVM screen always says "Visual voicemail is not activated yet, please try again later". On the S10+, the VVM toglle is just outright missing from the built-in phone app.
I haven't rooted either phone, and they're both running stock ROMs. I have ADB installed, if that's needed.

Sony Experia won't let me enter my voicemail PIN
I call my voice mail and it asks me for my PIN. After entering 3 out of the 4 digits, the screen starts blinking not allowing me to enter the fourth, then telling me I entered an incorrect PIN. So the phone makes it impossible for me to retrieve my voicemail.

- disable my carrier's voicemail
- record a voice message to a sound file
- when my phone rings have an app automatically accept the call after X rings (or seconds), then;
- play back the sound file to the caller, then;
- hang up
Is there a way to achieve this? Perhaps an app?

I'm looking for a voicemail app that will answer my phone after a configurable number of rings and route the caller to voicemail stored on the Android device.
I don't have voicemail with my carrier.
I'm not interested in features of Google Voice because it seems to piggyback on real voicemail and also I don't want to port my phone number to another service if indeed that is required.
(Note: I remember doing something similar on a PC desktop years ago when the phone line was hooked into the modem, the computer would act as voicemail.)

I'm trying to record audio played by a phone by routing it through a computer running Windows 7. Specifically, I want to record voicemails playing from a Galaxy Note 4, which I was trying to do by playing the audio through the computer and recording with Audacity.
I have _one_ male-to-male 3.5mm cable. By connecting that to my computer's mic jack and the phone's headphone jack, I can get a different phone (Galaxy S6) to play through my computer's speakers and can record like I want to, no problem. Also, plugging headphones into the Note 4, the audio plays perfectly through them. So, the cable works, and the phone's jack works.
But when I plug the cable into the Note 4, only half of the audio gets sent; I hear all the high-pitched parts through the computer's speakers, and all the low-pitched parts still come through the phone. Bizarre, to say the least. I would try using a different cable, but I only have the one, and it works fine on the other phone.
The voicemails are stored on my provider's server, not the phone, so I can't just copy them through USB, and trying to record them through the phone's speakers hurts the quality too much (lot of background noise here).
Ideally, I'd like to know what could be causing this strange problem and how to fix it, but any method of saving these voicemails will be enough. Can anyone help me out?
