I'm trying to solve a problem that is affecting a **Moto G 2014 XT1069** device. What has happened is that the device did shutdown, then when trying to power it up again, it stayed stuck on the Motorola logo for some time. Another person trying to help, said that it was needed to format the cellphone and rebooted into recovery mode. The point is that when trying to factory reset an error appeared. This person then said that the device was bricked and needed to do something to correct it. Then using fastboot through a computer, I don't know what she did but the situation got somehow worse. The first thing is that she unlocked the bootloader. But after all the procedure what happens is that when the device powered up, it just got stuck in a screen with a message **WARNING BOOTLOADER UNLOCKED** and it *doesn't progress any further*. On that same screen it is possible, by pressing **PWR** + **VOL DWN** to access the bootloader, but even if we select "Normal Powerup" or "Recovery", the device just gets back to the screen **WARNING BOOTLOADER UNLOCKED** and nothing more happens. Furthermore, it seems that the battery became somehow "mad". After a *quite long* time interval charging, the device got to 29% of battery and after just a few minutes trying to correct all this mess, the battery got to 6%. I don't know what they did and how all of this happened. How can I fix this mess? How can I make the cellphone boot and make everything right again? If possible I want to avoid flashing the factory image for the reason that I don't have access to the image from the official source and I feel quite uneasy to get from one untrusted source, since it might compromise confidential data. What can I do to solve this? I believe there has to be a way to correct all of this.

Bluetooth pairing fails, no more PIN entry field

I wanted to pair a bluetooth device (specifically, [Dynamo Harvester](http://be-on-bike.de/de/harvester/overview.html)) with my Moto G 2 (Android 6) with the normal workflow: Open bluetooth system settings, scan for devices, select *Dynamo Harvester*, enter the PIN and it is paired. Now, after entering the wrong PIN (0000 instead of 000000) several times – where most of the time a message was displayed that the PIN was wrong –, I entered the correct PIN, and something strange happened. The *Incorrect PIN* message popped up for a brief moment, and afair the device moved to the list of paired devices. Since the app still did not recognize the Dynamo Harvester, I turned bluetooth off and on again. Now the device has disappeared from the list of paired devices, but appears in the scan list. If I try to pair, I cannot enter a PIN anymore but receive a message *Can't communicate with Dynamo Harvester*. I thought that perhaps the device is broken somehow, but connecting with a Samsung Android tablet worked just fine (with the correct PIN). What can I do? Might this even be a bug in Android because of the strange message about the incorrect PIN, although it was correct? Bluetooth; can't communicate with Dynamo Harvester

The Caller or Receiver can't hear my voice but I can hear them. It seems to be a kind of software bug because when I do some recording the mic works perfectly. The only problem that I noticed is my voice is not getting through on the phone calls. I checked the microphone sign in the dialer mode, and it is not disabled too. I have all my contacts and important messages, and I simply don't want to do the factory reset, unless it is really required and is helpful too. I'll appreciate any help.

I recently downloaded [Vrse](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.shakingearthdigital.vrsecardboard) for messing around with VR stuff. To function, the app needs to download 360 degree video "scenes". The files are relatively large; generally a few hundred MBs. I'm extremely low on space, and it won't let me keep more than one scene at a time. Is there anyway to force the app to store data on the SD card? Alternatively, could I transfer the existing app data to the SD card, so that it could download the new data on internal memory? Will the app know where to find it if I do that? EDIT: Device is a 2014 Moto G (XT1064) running whatever came stock (I believe it's 5.1). Thanks! Evamvid

I have Moto G (2nd gen) with 3G connection. During my office hours I am constantly conncted to my 3G network and when I am to my home I connect to my WiFi network. I have noticed this unusual behavior for past 2-3 weeks. When I go home and connect to my home WiFi network many notifications start showing up - like notifications from apps like MakeMyTrip/Flipkart/Yatra and more. These notifications do not show up on my 3G network. It seems these **pending** notifications only show up when connected to WiFi. Notifications for apps like WhatsApp/Twitter work fine of 3G network. What would be the reason for this and where I should be looking if I want to resolve this issue?

I have Moto G 2nd Generation mobile with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The problem is suddenly one day, one of my SIM doesn't get signal at all. I tried: - Settings > More > Cellular Networks > Connect automatically, then a prompt saying "Your SIM cannot be registered" or "Cannot connect to this network right now. Please try again later" - Selecting manually the network that my SIM belongs to. This time the prompt is "No Service Selected network unavailable" - Removing SIM and inserting in another slot, rebooted, turned on airplane mode and off, etc. but nothing worked - Dialing *#*#4636#*#* and did "Turn off radio" and also selected "GSM only", "GSM auto(PRL)", "WCDMA only", etc. but nothing helped - Factory reset, even this doesn't work If I insert this SIM in another mobile, it works. And other SIMs work fine on my mobile. This issue is not there in the beginning and I remember I did not install anything new or change a setting. I couldn't get a solution even on the community or on Google. Please do help me. Additional info: - Device model: Moto G2 (XT1068) - Android version: 6.0 Marshmallow - Problematic SIM: BSNL

However running the following adb command, adb backup -apk -shared -all -system -f D:/backup.ab din't work in my case. The command instructed me to Unlock my device and confirm the backup operation. However doing so displayed the Backup started and Backup completed toast message back to back in just one second duration. And obviously the backup.ab file generated too was an empty 0kb file. Removing and changing the parameter din't help either.

I've just downloaded [Kingo Android Root](https://www.kingoapp.com/root-tutorials/how-to-root-android-without-computer.htm) and after some minutes my Moto G 2nd generation soft bricked and now stays in the Moto logo forever. Since I don't know anything about how to root a phone with safety, I simply didn't enable USB debugging before installing Kingo app. Also, I don't believe this app indeed rooted my phone. I only managed to unlock my bootloader and that's all. I tried to put the XT1068 firmware.zip file in my SD card in order to apply this update from the SD card but it didn't work. Moreover, when I run the command "adb devices" on OS X, nothing shows up. But when I run "fastboot devices" the prompt returns "0010235101 fastboot". And of course I tried to wipe cache partition and data, but it didn't work either. Any suggestions of how to solve this problem will be welcome.

I have an old Android phone (Moto G 2nd generation, running 5.0.2), from which I need to access files in the data\system folder. As I still do use this phone, I'd rather not permanently root it. However, I've been doing some reading, and it looks like it's possible to temporarily root it in a way that lasts until the phone is next rebooted. I've never rooted anything before, and my Googling of this only finds seemingly permanent rooting solutions. I can only assume that the terminology I'm using to search for how to do this is wrong. I'm a reasonably technical person, but I confess I am rather lost as to the correct way to proceed. Is what I'm trying to do even possible (WITHOUT wiping the phone)? **TLDR: How can I temporarily root my Moto G 2nd Gen phone running Android 5.0.2?**

For a few days now, I've been trying to recover my phone. It's a XT1069 (a brazilian dual-SIM Moto G 2014 with 16 GB of storage and DTV). It had a Resurrection Remix ROM with Android 7.1. The battery died, and then whenever I tried to turn it on, it got stuck in Resurrection Remix's loading screen, for whatever reason. That wasn't really a big issue, in fact it was actually good, because it gave me motive to update my ROM, which I was planning to do. Up until then, everything was working fine (although Resurrection Remix didn't boot). I downloaded Pixel Experience with Android 8.0, then I opened TWRP and transferred it to the phone through USB (TWRP supports it). I wiped the system partition (don't remember why - maybe I had tried to install it before and got an error, maybe out of space, I don't know) and tried to flash it. It gave an error, which basically meant I had to update TWRP. But uh oh! I can't anymore. My PC won't detect the phone _whatsoever_! I tried using fastboot, ADB in TWRP, MTP in TWRP, but all I can do via USB is charge it (TWRP does display a "+" after the battery percentage, and it does charge). I was using Debian 9.0.0 when I did this, but I accidentally deleted all partitions in my HDD while trying to install Windows 10, managed to recover them, and finally actually installed Windows 10 (for dual boot - I couldn't dislike Windows more). In either Debian or Windows, it doesn't detect it anymore. Previously it would make a sound and display a notification. It doesn't anymore, in the same conditions (in TWRP, with MTP either enabled or disabled). ADB and Fastboot don't work at all, where they previously did. I already installed drivers in both OSes. Actually, before I even installed drivers, it worked. Even the SD card isn't being detected by the phone anymore. It doesn't mount in TWRP (no error, it seems it wasn't even inserted), and I can't access it in the Install menu (says it's 0 MB, and won't access it). It previously worked. I've searched around a _ton_. Every solution is basically installing drivers, using MTP (can't do), disabling MTP to use ADB (can't do), using ADB Sideload from the Advanced menu in TWRP (can't do), restarting computer and/or phone, updating TWRP (can't do), SD card (can't do), USB OTG (I don't have an adapter, and buying one would require my parents' consent, which is a _bad_ thing, and besides, considering the other options, it's not likely that it'll work). I'm desperated. I don't know what to do anymore. Can somebody help me? What can I do to update TWRP, while my phone is in this state? (Large question, eh. Well, I'm being as specific as I can. Please read it so you can understand the situation.)

I recently tried to remove the Google search bar on my homescreen using this tutorial by disabling the Google Search app in settings. It turns out I was using the Google Now launcher, and so when I rebooted the launcher broke and sent me into some kind of recovery mode (not the proper android recovery mode.) It went through the booting animation, but then just came up with an alert saying 'Optimising Apps: 1/150', which cycled through each app and 'optimised' it. Upon completion, a black screen came up and the phone rebooted itself. I'm using an unrooted Moto G2 which had Marshmallow running on it. I'm wondering how to reinstall my OS or otherwise restore my device; I don't care about data as it is backed up. Any ideas how to fix/reinstall my Android installation?

I received a message from a new phone number about some advertising information. When I opened the message I saw "Report Spam" option to report the spam to whatsapp. However once I replied to that message to not to send anymore ads to me, the option for reporting that contact as spam is not visible. In the menu there is an option to block that contact. However, I feel that blocking a contact is personal choice of an user of whatsapp. And blocking the contact is different from reporting the contact as a spammer right? Or Does the "Block" and "Report Spam" option does the same job? I haven't added that contact in my phone yet. But I want to report that number as spam to whatsapp. Now that Report Spam option is gone, Is there any method to report a contact as spam even after replying to that contact?
