How can you send email to a Gmail Contact Group?
I'm using Android 4.1 on a Droid Razr M. Is there any way to send an email to a contact Group? I've read several [posts][1] that show how to do this but none of them actually work. There is also an app ([GroupU][2]) but it would be nice to be able to send to groups *within* Gmail. [1]: http://www.eh...

I want to set the ringtone for each contact with a particular label on my Pixel 2 (Android 11). Labels are a thing that contacts can have in the default android contacts app (from Google). There seems to be a lot of answers out there about doing this, but only when the contacts app has something *specifically* named "groups". There is nothing called "groups" in the default Google contacts app, but I think that labels are basically the same thing as "groups".

I'm talking in particular about the default Google groups named "Family", "Friends" and "Coworkers"; since I don't use them, and in their stead I have added some other groups that are more useful to me, I'd like to remove or simply hide these default ones, in order to keep the list of groups less cluttered.
Is it possible to do so?

When I export my Android phone's contacts via a VCF file, it seems the contact groups are not indicated in the VCF (and are thus lost if I only import that file).
I see a lot of apps for exporting and importing contacts, but none whose name suggests it will export my contact groups as well.
My questions:
* Is there a way for me to export my contacts together with the contact groups?
* Is there a way for me to export _just_ my contact groups (i.e. which contact belongs to which group)?
* Can I import just-contact-groups "onto" a set of contacts without contact groups (the result of a previous import-export without contact groups)?
Notes:
* I don't have a Google account (and won't get one).
* In case it matters - the phone from which I'm exporting is a Xiaomi RedMi 3S (Android 6.0.1, MIUI 10).
* This question is related, but I don't care about exporting to a VCF specifically; and Android has changed over the years; and the answer there regards a Google account.

I am not able to see some of the groups for which I am a member. My name appears in the group admin's phone. But he is also not able to remove my name and add it again. Other group members cannot see my name in the group member list. So I don't know exactly what the real problem is. I have uninstalled WhatsApp and re-installed it, but the problem remains the same. (Still I cannot see some of the groups in my phone).
Can you please find some way to come out of this?

I'm trying to find a way to set up and manage multiple address books on my phone, and to keep them distinct.
I want to do that to separate my personal contacts from the work ones.
The default behaviour is to collect all contacts from my various accounts in a single big list (two google accounts and some other social networking apps), but it is a bit of a mess to have everything together. I know that the default app have a built-in group manager, but it has a bit of a clunky interface that's not very handy (whenever you open it, you are several clicks away from the desired grouping).
Ideally I'd like to have a solution that let me manage my contacts in a powerful and customizable way, i.e. with tags, custom groupings, and so on, and that let me switch easily between said groups without too much clicking around.
How can I do that? I'm also willing to consider a third party app, but right now everything I've tried still collects every contact from all accounts together.

I've been using Android for 7+ years and now got a Google phone. There are several things I like but one thing which annoys me a lot is that all of my phone's contacts are now merged with Gmail contacts.
For my phone contacts, I have prefixes (Dr, Uncle, Aunt etc.) and groups. Both are now messed up. All contacts are sorted alphabetically.
From my Gmail, all people I've ever sent or received emails from, are shown in the phone contacts. I tried to show only phone contacts by deselecting other but it does not work.
How can I only display contacts from my phone's address book with groups and ignoring prefixes/suffixes in sorting order?

I have a group of friends who like board games, and want me to text them any time we have a board game pick up night come up. But as friends move away or new friends are made I want to update this list.
At this point the list is a couple dozen people long and so manually texting that many people on short notice is hard. I'd like a 'few button clicks away' way of sending all of them a single, simple, text. IE "Board games tonight at my house at six!"
The Question
------------
Is there a series of operations (on any app) that will let me keep a list of phone numbers that I can conveniently group text?
Complications
-------------
* I will routinely add and remove numbers from this list. (basically a Delivery List)
* I won't have access to other communications platforms for these people. (can't make them use an app or connect to their facebook or anything like that)
Other Notes
-----------
* I'm willing to use pretty much any app if it does this (and isn't blatantly evil)

I know I could delete them manually by going into the Group -> "Media" and select all images manually, but rather I'd love to have the opposite behaviour so that I need to specify which images I want to keep / save.
This is also the way it works on iOS: You can specify for every group / contact separately whether images/videos should be kept or not...
Is there any way of asking for this feature officially on whatsapp?
Thanks

I read that since Lollipop this feature was no longer available. Can anyone support or reject that fact? Is there any way around it? Does anyone know **why** Google removed such a useful feature and then only half (Android support) of it?

As is my habit, I retain A's old number for a while, just in case, and add the new number to A's contact record and mark it as the default number.
From this point, if I phone contact A, it uses the new number. Fine.
But now, whenever I text contact group ABC, it still sends to A's old number. Not fine.
I have searched for any information or fixes but drew a blank.
This is a Samsung Galaxy Ace 4 btw.

I have created several contact lists in my Yahoo e-mail account by using Yahoo's website via Internet Explorer. I would like to send an e-mail to one of the contact lists from my Android phone (which is a Galaxy S4), but I can't figure out how... Here is what I've tried so far:
1. Unable To Access Contact Lists From Yahoo Mail App: I tried accessing the contact lists from the Yahoo Mail App, which I installed on the phone, but I can't find the lists anywhere. My contacts all appear in the app, and the information seems to be read-only. I can't edit their names or any of their details, and I can only access a list of all of my contacts when I try to compose an e-mail and touch the "To" field in the newly composed e-mail. There is no mention of the lists to which they belong.
2. Unable To Create New Contact Lists As Groups On Android Device By Syncing With Yahoo Account: I went into the Yahoo Mail App Settings and selected "Sync Yahoo contacts". This imported the contacts into my Android contacts, but it did not assign them to any groups. If they belonged to contact lists in my Yahoo account, no new groups were created. Also, existing groups on my phone that matched the names of contact lists in my Yahoo account were ignored and not used when the contacts were imported.
I realize that I could manually recreate the groups on my Android device and assign all contacts to them, but this would be a very tedious and time consuming solution to a process that seems to beg for automation. Is there a quick way of doing this?
If necessary, is there another app I can download that is safe to use which will accomplish the task? I tried the above solutions using Gmail as a workaround, but encountered the same obstacles.
