My cell phone is a Samsung Galaxy Pocket 2 (SM-G110B/DS) running Android 4.4 KitKat. I found the developer options, and "by mistake", I selected one of the overlays. The problem is that the overlay has a bigger resolution than what my screen supports, and it doesn't let me touch the screen (Overlay #1 1280x720).
I have turned the phone off and on again and it didn't work, I took off the battery, pinched it, and tapped on it several times... nothing changed, but that overlay is still there and doesn't let me touch the screen.
How can I turn this overlay off?

I've got a Google Pixel 8 Pro running GrapheneOS. When I'm on the phone talking to somebody and hold the phone to my ear, it very often accidentally registers taps. This e.g. leads to activation of the flashlight or Bluetooth by the slide-down menu. Locking the screen after answering the call does not help, probably because the slide-down menu is accessible anyway. I cannot find any setting to prevent this. Does anyone have the same issue or any idea of how to fix this?
I used the app Sensors Toolbox to check whether the proximity sensor works as it should. And it does. However, it only detects small distances at the top of the phone (where the ear should be during the call, which is not always the case). If the phone detects a small distance to the skin during the call, the screen is deactivated, but is activated if the phone slips a little from that position. Is this normal?

I'm running Android on a mobile device, but I really just use it as a computer. I have a wireless mouse/keyboard that I use to navigate windows, etc. The keyboard works well generally, but I find some features lacking. I really would like to map keypresses to the touch screen input. i.e. I can set W to send touch input from a part of the screen given by the pixel location or some such thing.
I have a background in computer system, so I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty. I am willing to root the device, install programs, or build in some additional hardware. I can probably do it from scratch, but I really would like to not waste that much time on it.

Android doesn't seem to support external touchpad (usb or wireless) pinch gesture for zooming in and out?
I tried a few external wireless keyboards with touchpads built-in, while the touchpad works for pinch on Mac and Windows, it didn't work for pinch-zooming on Android.
So my guess it's not possible. I use my Android TV box (BuzzTV box, Android 9) as an Android desktop for apps e.g. PDF reader.
Also tried using normal mouse, scroll wheel and ALT or CTRL or whatever combination it is typically..
I understand Android 14 has support for external keyboards but I don't see mentioned whether it also provides pinch zoom gestures for external touchpads. Not planning to upgrade the TV box yet.
To solve the external keyboard compatibility, there is an app called External Keyboard Helper for Android. That solves the keyboard issue.
But I can't find anything similar that would allow me to use pinch/zoom on external touchpad.
Some apps have support for keyboard shortcuts (Alt+leftButton+arrowRight/arrowLeft works for me), but most apps do not support this.
The issue is not related to this specific tv box. I tried other brands TV boxes and it is the same problem.
Is it a universal Android limitation?
UPDATE: Here I found some answer.. But I am still looking for a way to pinch zoom a PDF. So I guess my question needs to be - is there any app for PDF that supports pinch and zoom natively on non-touchscreen pointing interfaces?

I would like to know whether on Android devices it is possible to input a combined touch plus swipe gesture.
For instance, I could touch with one or more fingers with the left hand, and simultaneously swipe left to right or right to left with the right hand.
As an application, with TakBack, this could be used, with one finger plus swipe left to right or right to left, to skip forward or backward one word while text is being read, with two fingers plus swipe left to right or right to left, to skip forward or backward one sentence while text is being read, and three fingers plus swipe to toggle pausing while text is being read.
I think, this could be significantly useful in improving usability of TalkBack for blind users.
When will this be available in Android?
Thanks.

Is there a way to disable the two-finger double-tap gesture to skip chapters on YouTube? Or alternatively, is there a way to disable or reduce the sensitivity of two-finger gestures on my device?

I'm using Android for a HMI touch screen that is embedded in an electrical cabinet.
It runs a kiosk app with a web browser that connects to a web interface. The interface has buttons that does stuff.
The screen is set to sleep after 2 minutes. And is awakened by touch.
But I dont want the touch to activate any of the buttons in the interface, if the screen is sleeping.
So the first touch only awakes the screen and doesnt register as input in the interface.
Is there an app for this? That could extend/replace the built in screen saver.

The company where I bought fixed the screen for me, but it doesn't work properly still - at least not 100%.
Marked part of the screen on the image is not responding to touch.
The solution I came up with is to somehow in Android Developer settings move the screen these 50px down, so it starts under the camera, and so I can use the phone like nothing ever happened.
Do you guys know how it can be done?
I looked everywhere but didn't find a solution ;/
Thank you in advance!

Suppose my screen breaks, and I can no longer operate it via touch, but I can still see parts of the screen although broken.
In this case, can I connect to my Android device via a mouse (for instance, a Bluetooth mouse, or a mouse via USB hub that allows me to charge my phone or keep it charged while keeping a USB mouse attached simultaneously)?
This way I could back up some pictures that were not saved to Google photos, WhatsApp chats, or other data.
So, this could be useful (navigating with a mouse when your screen is broken and does not respond to touch).
Is Android configured by default to support this behavior? If not, then i think it should. I don't know which screens break the touch sensor only when they break, but perhaps quite a few. In this case, if Android is not preconfigured to allow this behavior, the mouse will not be able to operate, and the data will be unrecoverable.
Thank you for your answers.

Guided Access is an excellent set of features for the iPhone that allows one to restrict or block inputs to the device. How can I replicate this behavior with my Android phone?
The features the I am most interested in
(so that I can restrict access to my phone when my children are using it) are:
- ability to disable all hard buttons (power, volume up/down, back, home, the button that display open tasks, etc.), and
- ability to disable all touch events.
Of course, such an app must also provide a way to re-enable these inputs again using one of them (or said another way, to disable the restrictions). For example, to disable guided access on the iPhone, one triple-clicks the home button.

I bought an aftermarket replacement LCD + touch for my Moto G7 Power off Aliexpress . However, it has an issue.
The problem is that it sometimes detects a touch in the top middle of the screen. This is the part of the screen where the notch is. So an actual physical touch on that part of the screen could never be registered because there is no touch sensing there.
When I then touch the screen anywhere else with just one finger, it detects two touch inputs. My screen is unusable in this state (obviously). I have to turn the screen off and back on again to get rid of this error. Here is a screenshot of the issue:
I have tried cleaning the connector, wiping data and cache + Dalvik cache. I downgraded my phone to another firmware version. I tried two different custom ROMs (LineageOS 18 and 17) but the issue persists. I'm using the original charging cable. No screen protector. It happens during normal usage without the phone heating up bad. A restart doesn't help, it only temporarily fixes the issue in the same way turning the screen off and on again does. Sometimes it happens 1 minute after I turn the screen on, sometimes it doesn't happen for half an hour. On average I would say it happens 50 times a day, which is getting very annoying.
I managed to start the partial screen app and press *RUN SCREEN ANALYSIS* through ADB shell after the glitch started happening. But after a minute, the app tells me "no areas were added". The erroneous touch is happening at (339.5; 0) so I also tried starting the analysis and then sending a tap event at those coordinates but still, no areas were added.
Is there anything I can do? Like making the system permanently ignore touch inputs in that region? I'm fine with such a solution as long as it works. I have some knowledge about Unix and Android systems, but I'm not an expert at this. Btw, I have already filed a complaint with the seller.

This sounds silly, but it has been driving me mad for years. I do not want to disable the touch sound, I want to change it. This is not an option in the sound settings. You can only disable the touch sound.
I have tried rooting my devices with no luck, and I can't find any up-to-date information about rooting either device (S7 Edge on Verizon, and Note Pro 12.2 (SM-P905V). Every guide I've come across seems to have been copied and pasted from the same source, and it involves using Odin, but fails every time I attempt it.
There simply *must* be some way to change this sound! The Samsung sounds are horrible 'nature inspired' crap, but I like having interface sounds. I've wasted far too may hours trying to figure this out a couple of times a year.
Can someone confirm that it is currently NOT POSSIBLE to root the above devices? My understanding is that Samsung aggressively patches to make rooting dificult or impossible, but I'm hoping I'm wrong.
Thankyou.
