When I select the .pem file it just goes back to the Install certificate screen, and when I choose the -key.pem file it says that I need a private key to install it.
I don't know much about SSL certificates so help would be very much appreciated :)

Edit: I am using mkcert to generate a certificate for a certain IP address in my network. I am using KDE connect to send the files to my phone.

When creating a PWA via Chrome "Add to Home Screen", an "app" is created but every time it opens it just acts as a normal shortcut (opens as a new tab in Chrome browser)
The same website (https://reflect.app) created as PWA on my Samsung Galaxy S22, Android 14 has no issue.
I try using the bit.ly link hack and using "shortcut maker" but no luck.
Is there any solution to this?

My car is a Ford Focus from 2016. If I plug in an iPhone, the car just starts to play whatever music was last listened to (or just starts playing the first track in the alphabet). This is great.
However, I'd rather use an Android phone than an iPhone, and the Pixel 4a is otherwise great, but the playing over USB feature is important to me; the sound over Bluetooth in this car is rather poor.
Does anyone know if this can be done?
I've tried some different music apps - e.g. USB Audio Player PRO - to no avail; even using the USB OTG extension that came with the phone.
USB Preferences
are set to File transfer/Android Auto
I also saw this question: 2012 question from 2012 and thought (hoped) things had moved on since then.

I got a Google Pixel 4a that is stuck during boot without obvious reason (maybe it did an automatic update and restart during the night). Whenever I start the phone, it only shows the "Google lettering" but won't continue to boot.
I can access fastboot (vol- + power button). That way, I have also access to the phone via cmd console on my computer. Still, when I try to access recovery mode, it will also get stuck when it shows the Google lettering. Also, a wipe or factory reset is not possible via power button + vol+ as I cannot access recovery mode. Resetting the phone via https://flash.android.com is also not possible with the error message:
> Device Unlock Disabled
>
> For security reasons, you need to enable "OEM unlocking" in order to flash your device. See the device preparation instructions for more information.
So what other options do I have to get the phone back running?

Update to Magisk 24.1. Support for XPosed modules / Changes

I am on Pixel 4a running stock Android 12. I was on Magisk 23.x with Lsposed (as Riru is anyway [deprecated](https://github.com/RikkaApps/Riru)) . I had no need of updating to the latest 24.1, since everything was fine and I didn't keep up with latest Magisk changes.
Till a banking app update ruined my peace, because it detected root (SBI Yono for Indian readers). All my efforts to circumvent root detection failed @ and I was forced to consider updating Magisk hoping that the *Deny list* feature would help in preventing root detection (though it's not same as Magisk Hide) or else use a compatible root hiding app Shamiko (stable version released a few days ago).
This looked to be challenging since **Magisk 24.1 does not support Riru**. So **how do I run Xposed modules like XPrivacyLua, Xposed Edge etc?** This was my biggest worry.
Google-fu didn't help, but a vague comment on Reddit gave hope. More search revealed other issues and their solutions, which are in the answer below. It was worth the effort since Zygisk is a key feature of Magisk and I may as well step up my game (and your's).
All the best and yes, I won't be updating this to keep up with changes but you hopefully have enough pointers to find your way
@Safety-net passed; developer options state hidden;device shows certified in Play Store. Hiding Magisk app 23.x involves jumping through a lot of hoops, so didn't try that.

So, I thought of making a self answered question to
* Help those who don't know and
* Add to canonical questions. It's important for our site to have such questions as easy reference (not-so-subtle request to others to post more self answered questions!).
**Notes:**
1. I have tried both Linux and Android versions of the answer and they work fine (tested on Pixel 4a, Android 11). The process *may* look daunting but it isn't (I know nothing about Linux, yet managed to root without issues).
2. Moderators are free to make this a community wiki, if more answers are posted depending on the device variants :)

The company where I bought fixed the screen for me, but it doesn't work properly still - at least not 100%.
Marked part of the screen on the image is not responding to touch.
The solution I came up with is to somehow in Android Developer settings move the screen these 50px down, so it starts under the camera, and so I can use the phone like nothing ever happened.
Do you guys know how it can be done?
I looked everywhere but didn't find a solution ;/
Thank you in advance!

I've reset the networks and reloaded the base system (system reset), but nothing changed.
Any ideas?

**How does one install Xposed framework on Android 12?**
**Notes:**
1. This is a self answered question for the *fourth year* on this subject! Edxposed is still in beta and Android 12 is recently released, so there would be many changes to this answer in future. Since I do not intend to update this answer with developments, others are welcome to add and modify - sadly, in the previous three questions, there hasn't been a single edit barring mine :( , so this may help the diminishing breed of Xposed module enthusiasts.
2. Answer is generic in nature and for issues relating to installation / modules you are better off asking in respective device/module threads in XDA.
Moderators are welcome to make this a community wiki if warranted.

OpenVPN 2.5.3 aarch64-openwrt-linux-gnu [SSL (OpenSSL)] [LZO] [LZ4] [EPOLL] [MH/PKTINFO] [AEAD]
library versions: OpenSSL 1.1.1l 24 Aug 2021, LZO 2.10
I installed OpenVPN on the latest OpenWrt 21.02.1
The client config and server conf files both have these lines at the top:
user nobody
group nogroup
dev tun
..
..
I installed the OpenVPN for Android app on my Android phone. When entering the client config file... am I supposed to comment out or delete the first two lines since there is no user called: nobody and no group called nogroup in my Android. At least I didn't see anything in
/etc/group
and `/etc/passwd in Android OS.
I see in the OpenVPN manual that the --user option lets you:
*"Change the user ID of the OpenVPN process to user after initialization, dropping privileges in the process. This option is useful to protect the system in the event that some hostile party was able to gain control of an OpenVPN session."*
I can connect from the Android client to OpenVPN server by commenting out those two lines but is there a way to obtain the benefit of running as user "nobody" and group "nogroup", or some such unpriviledged user, when connecting to OpenVPN server on OpenWrt from an Android phone?
From a Terminal to my phones Android OS if I do ls -l
I can see user and group of all files is: u0_a252
so should I make a user an group of u0_a252
on the server running OpenVPN and then use that as the user and group in you are dropping root privileges on the client with --user and/or --group the client and server config files? My phone is not rooted so I guess running as user u0_a252
will be the same thing as running OpenVPN unprivileged?
Lastly do I NEED to define a user AND a group or is one or the other enough? The OpenVPN manual is a bit ambiguous on this point because it also states: *"[if] you are dropping root privileges on the client with --user and/or --group.."*
Cheers,
Flex

Today, all of a sudden, I saw this screen like symbol on the right side of status bar, which wasn't present after updating.
It is not app related because it can be seen in [tag:safe-mode] also. There is nothing in the notification bar that corresponds to this symbol. Strangely, Google search didn't help. Nobody else seems to have this problem.
Any idea what this symbol means and how to get rid of it?
