I want to factory data reset my phone. It feels nice to have a phone without so many things on it and I like the less amount of storage I have on it. Needless to say, I want to reset it. My phone is an HMD Vibe, and I just want to make sure I won't lose my plan, or my number. My Google account has all my contacts attached to it so I don't have to worry about that, it's just that I'm worried about losing my plan and stuff.

my current data plan has unlimited usage for only certain apps; Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, and Telegram. Any other form of data usage isn't unlimited taking from my limited data pool. Would it be possible to mimic the data usage of a HotSpot to go through any one of these apps. Any help would be greatly appreciated as my home internet is out for the next couple of mounths :)

I would like to prevent Firefox from loading images, due to 3g data limit. * I was googling for an anwser, but it seems that option is not available, and, to my surprise, I did not find any posts mentioning it *does not* exist. * There is no option in about:config that looks like the one permissions.default.image in the desktop version of Firefox. * No extension (in particular, the [Image Block](https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/image-block/)) seems to be installable in Firefox 16.0 for Android. Can you suggest a solution, or a browser, which supports this feature?

Can I easily disable cellular data on an Android device and just use Wi-Fi? Does this change based on whether or not I have root on the device?

I have a subscription that makes Spotify not count towards my data cap. Thing is, when I go in my data usage calculations on my phone, it still is counted. Any way to remove an app from the data cap count on the phone? PS: If I look into my account on the provider website, I have something like 200mb used. PPS: Running a One Plus One, Android 6.0.1 with Cyanogen 13.0, I think I'm rooted, but not sure. Also sorry, I don't know how to limit the size of my image.

I thought this would be a popular question but couldn't find it here so if you do please let me know. My mother just got a new HTC Inspire and is brand new to using a data plan. Since she is worried that she might go over her cap I want to know how can she track how much data she has used in a certain time (preferably within a billing period). I am on Sprint so I've never had to worry about how much data I use. My question is: **Can you recommend a method to manage/track data?** Also, I figure that apps like weather and news should be changed to check less frequently... **any other *default apps* that should be changed to check less frequently**? I've used AFWall+ to block Weather Services Pro from using my data plan, but My Data Manager app still shows it in the top 3 of data plan use. Is there some background process using data that isn't being blocked? Is there some other way to block it from using mobile data but still work on Wi-Fi? Also, I enabled the "Fix Startup Data Leak" option, and after a reboot, nothing could access the internet at all; it could connect to Wi-Fi but the icon was white indicating no internet connection. Then I went into AFWall and pressed Apply, and stuff started to work. Now I can block Browser and when I try to load things in the browser it says "Web page not available" as expected. So maybe it's working now? I watch a lot of inspiration videos from TED (www.ted.com.au) on my new Galaxy S2 phone. However, I only do this when I am at home and can access my home wifi network. My home wifi and the phone's 3G networks are with different providers. Obviously, my phone switches to the home wifi network automatically when I am at home. My question: Is it possible for my 3G network provider to see/track my wifi usage and bill me accordingly (as if I am using the 3G network) because everything goes through the phone that is on their network? I am new to smart phones so please bear with me. My monthly 3G data download allowance is only 150 MB but my home wifi came with 5 GB.

My mobile company offers a free package for facebook with unlimited bandwidth , however when I open my 3G connection the mobile automatically connects to unknown servers (maybe google) and the mobile company charges me for that connection. The question in simple words: How can I make all connections blocked (even google) except facebook.com?

I have a xoom LTE from Verizon but do not currently have a data plan. After getting the ics update I went into settings and unchecked mobile data. I have no reason to believe that I am using Verizon's network, but I am surprised that there is a network strength icon in my notification area that is constantly updated. Is there a way to turn off signal strength checking for the phone network since I do not even have a contract with Verizon? Will it just always be there now that I have ics on the xoom?

I have a Nexus S and a GPRS plan activated, from what customer services of my mobile carrier have told me is that GPRS will give you max of 10-15 kB/s download speed. In my Nexus S if i don't select "Use Only 2G" in "mobile network" setting i get speeds up to 80kB/S and the symbol in the status bar shows 3G symbol. As soon as i select the "Use only 2G Network" my download speed drops to 10 kB/s. I have used spedtest application to check speed. I have verified with my Mobile carrier and i do not have any 3G plan activated. How is this Possible, i don't want to get any kind of shock when i receive my Mobile bill :) Edit : My mistake, corrected capitalizations.

I have 100 minutes of free talk every week, 25 free SMS every week and 2GB of Internet data usage in a month. Nothing alerts me when one of these thresholds has been exceeded. Is there any way to keep track of my outgoing calls and messages, and then receive an alert when I'm going to exceed my limit? It would be preferable if the threshold would reset automatically every week and be configurable.

Just a PDA. I have an original VZW droid, the phone powers up and I can start apps etc; however, I cannot even connect to WiFi (it tries and fails with an error that just says unable to connect, try again). Is this a limitation of the phone being ***not*** activated? I used to use this phone as my every day driver, but I've since upgraded to a new phone, but would still like to use this droid as a wifi web browser around the house.

In Google Maps is there a way to save a route while you're still connected to wifi so that it saves your data plan? Does scrolling through the map while still connected to wifi help because then the points get cached?

I bought Micromax Funbook P3000 (All Winner A10-based clone) one month back and I have a 3G USB Dongle (Tata Photon+), I have a 10 GB plan, in that 5GB was used by Android OS itself. How to stop this as I find no option to "Stop background data"?

The procedure for porting a SIM card from a pay-as-you-go phone to an iPhone 4 is well documented (example 1 , example 2 , config tool for iOS 5 ). This is a nice option for people mostly on WiFi who use a small number of minutes (or VoIP), because with AT&T GoPhone plans, you can keep network costs down toward $100/year. Is there a similar procedure for porting to a high-end Android phone? For example, can you buy a $3 GoPhone from Best Buy, buy an unlocked or AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II off eBay, move the SIM card into the Galaxy, and expect it to work? Other than ensuring the GoPhone plan has a data bundle feature, what other configuration is required?

I'm new to the Android platform, but am looking into doing some development for Android 2.x, with the hope of publishing an app to the Android App Market eventually. I'd like to be able to test my app on "real" hardware, but I already have an iPhone, which is plenty expensive itself, and I don't want to pay for an entire second cell phone plan just to test my code. So my question is, is it possible to buy an unlocked Android phone and operate it entirely over wi-fi? If so, what features (besides the obvious, like making calls), will I be missing out on?

I need to access the Web via my Android phone's cell radio only occasionally. Therefore, I am not interested in a monthly plan (and certainly not in a 2-year minimum contract). I thought that finding a prepaid **web access** card (or plan) for Android **phones** would be as easy as finding one for voice but it turns out way more difficult than I had hoped for: - T-Mobile's attractive Web DayPass works with phones, but not with Android ones. - Verizon's Prepaid Mobile Broadband is not intended for phones at all (Android or not). What are my options really as far as *minimizing the cost of occasional web access via my Android phone, legally and reliably* ? At this point, I am flexible as to whether the solution is for CDMA or GSM (it is still much less expensive to buy a new phone than to sign for a 2-year contract)

I have a Pay As You Go SIM card on my Nexus One which works great for voice calls but I don't really know how to use it for T-mobile's $1.49 Web Day Pass. I called T-Mobile's customer support but they were clueless... All they could say was "press the web2go button". I don't have a web2go button on my Nexus One. I know it is possible to use T-mobile's $1.49 Web Day Pass on a Nexus One, but I don't know how. Any help would be appreciated.
