Netflix and Hulu have both apps for the Samsung Gear VR headset, but Amazon Video doesn't have an app. So my question is, is there any way to watch Amazon Video on Samsung Gear VR? I tried going to the Amazon Video website on the Samsung Internet VR web browser, but when I click an episode it just tells me to download the "Amazon Underground" app, which is a non-VR app for watching Amazon Video on the Samsung Galaxy S7. Also, I tried clicking "request computer version" in the Samsung VR browser, to trick the site into thinking that I'm on a computer, but then Amazon just displays a message that your browser is not supported. Is there any way to change the user agent of the Samsung VR browser to something which makes Amazon play the video?

Is it possible to detect two Gear VR controllers at once with Unity?
Is it possible to detect two of the Gear VR controllers at once, with programming in Unity? Has anyone heard of any way to do this, or does Oculus limits it to inspire you to get a Rift? It would open a whole world of possibilities for the Gear VR when used with Unreal or Unity.

I hope this is the correct place to ask this (they directed me here from Meta Exchange). I'm starting to program in VR with Unity (for Android) and I'm looking to get a low-cost smartphone with VR support. My phone company offered me free either a Moto G6 Play or a Moto E5 Play. According to their specifications, both are VR capable (gyroscope and motion sensor included). However, I've read mixed reviews online, so I would like to confirm if both are really VR compatible and which would be best for testing gaming related media.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE. I've been trying to use it with a Samsung Gear S3 Classic. The phone and watch can find each other, but whenever I attempt to push an app or a watchface from the phone to the watch, I get the message > Unfortunately, Samsung account has stopped I have seen this message for a little while now (whenever I restart the phone) but I have largely ignored it because the phone still operated correctly. However, now it seems like it prevents the Samsung Gear app from installing items to the watch. I have found some items that talk about updating the firmware. I've downloaded Kies 3 (version 2.6.4.17113_1) and that refuses to do anything with my phone (which is running Android 4.4.4). I've downloaded Smart Switch. Which will actually connect to my phone and I've been able to back it up. But it thinks the phone is running the latest firmware version. In fact, my phone thinks that too when I check it directly on the phone. I just would like to get Samsung Gear to install items on the watch, so it's pretty frustrating. If anyone knows how to get Gear to work with this phone, I would truly appreciate any help. I have read that this is related to an incomplete Samsung account. I never had one. I did create one online with the hope to add it to the phone. However, attempts to add the Samsung account causes the same crash message, Details: - Phone Model Number: GT-19305 - Android Version: 4.4.4 - Android Security Patch Level: 2016-01-01 - Baseband Version: 19305XXUFPA1 - Kernel Version: 3.0.31-6850576 - Build Number: KTU84P.19305XXUFPA1 - SE for Android Status: Enforcing SEPF_GT-19305_4.4.4_0050

I checked my phone after class and I noticed that a new app was installed. I keep automatic updates off at all times so I have no idea how this application came to be on my phone. It is called rooms and has the android logo as its thumbnail. I have uninstalled the application numerous times and it just automatically installs again each time. I have tried researching the application and I've come up with nothing. When I click on the app, it tells me to insert my device into my Gear VR. So my question has two parts: First, is this a legitimate application that others have heard of? And second, is there a way I can remove it? Thanks.

Last night the revival of the TV show Twin Peaks started airing on the premium cable TV network Showtime. I'm a Comcast cable customer who's subscribed to Showtime, and I would like to watch Twin Peaks in my Samsung Gear VR headset. So my question is, is there any way to watch Showtimes shows using Samsung Gear VR? As you can see in [this web page](http://www.sho.com/order?s_cid=pse-default-1720&gclid=Cj0KEQjwmIrJBRCRmJ_x7KDo-9oBEiQAuUPKMpLGqHTl0WuOkmqmkgRZoAdYjaqnnlZGGkZKvY1rUiAaAqFj8P8HAQ) , Showtime allows for streaming of their shows through a variety of devices and services, including through Android phones using their mobile app. But they don't have a Gear VR app on the Oculus Store. But is there still some way of watching their shows through Gear VR? For instance, can it be done through a web browser (either the Samsung Internet VR Browser or the Oculus Browser)? I know that from a computer, you can stream Showtime shows via showtime.com, but when I try to visit showtime.com on my phone it redirects me to a page that links to their mobile app.

From what I've read, Daydream case is far simpler with most of the sensors in the phone; while Gear VR has sensors in the headset itself. So it appears to me that other than the controllers, Gear VR headset in hardware terms should cover everything the Daydream headset does. If I buy the 2017 Gear VR (for the controller), will I also be able to view Daydream VR titles, and how will the different controller affect the compatibility?

**Synchronized video playback across multiple Devices (Samsung Gear VR)** **Specs:** Samsung Gear VR (SM-323) Samsung Galaxy S6 (SM-G920F) OS: Android 6.0.1 **The Problem:** I’m searching for a possibility to control one or multiple Gears via a single external device. The key feature I’m looking for is to start/pause/resume a video, while someone else is wearing the gear. (like in a representation) It’s not necessary to be able to start the app from externally, even if being able to do so could become handy. A different player which can be controlled in this way would be satisfying too. The optimal solution would be to have one external device which acts as controller for multiple Gears at the same time. At least some kind of external controller for each single device would be a step in the right direction. ***Here are the solutions I’m currently working on and tried so far:*** **1) MilkVR / Samsung VR Apps** https://samsungvr.com/portal/content/gear_vr_synchronization According to this official website from Samsung this would be the ideal solution to the problem. However, I found some information’s that Samsung renamed this app into “Samsung VR”. So far, I couldn’t find much information’s about the “Samsung VR” app, like exact functionalities, hardware requirements or at least some official statement from Samsung whether or not this app is supposed to be the successor of MilkVR. Besides all of this, it seems like MilkVR is only available within the USA. So even if MilkVR is still developed and can therefore be run on the named system, I’d first need to find a method to bypass the region lock. **2) Controlling via Bluetooth** Another possible solution I’m researching at the moment, is using some kind of Bluetooth controller with build-in multimedia keys, since the official player is supposed to support those. The question in this case would be, whether or not it’s possible to link one of those controllers to multiple devices at the same time. The first test with one generic Bluetooth-based controller (Hi-Shock PG-9033) was disappointing so far, since I was only able to control the volume, seek and going back and forth in the menus. But I wasn’t able to start/pause/stop the playback independent of the built-in menus. Of course, the Bluetooth remote could be replaced with a computer or smartphone generated Bluetooth signal for example. **3) Controlling via other transfer methods** Another thought I had was to send the commands via WLAN or USB, but since I couldn’t find any implementation of that within the built-in appstore I don’t expect this to be a possible solution. **Closing words** If someone has some information’s or experiences whether or not some of these ideas could possible work I would be glad to hear them. Even if there’s another entirely different approach to this problem I would like to hear that too since I’m starting to run out of ideas. Thanks, in advance

How do I access the new Oculus Browser in the Samsung Gear VR?

I've come across a lot of news articles, like [this one](https://www.wired.com/2017/03/gear-vr-just-took-huge-leap-forward-thanks-oculus/) and [this one](https://uploadvr.com/major-gear-vr-updates-web-browser-new-home-70-games-way/) , which say that the newly updated "Oculus Home" interface for the Samsung Gear VR headset comes with a built-in new web browser that's superior to the "Samsung Internet" browser which was the default way to browse the web in Gear VR until now. My question is, how do you access this built-in web browser? I have noticed other changes in the updated Oculus Home interface, like the ability to create Avatars and the "Hey Oculus" voice control feature. But I don't see a built-in Oculus web-browser anywhere. There's just the old "Samsung Internet" app. Is the Oculus browser something you need to install separately? EDIT: [Here](https://www.oculus.com/blog/mobile-vr-is-better-than-ever?ref=producthunt) is what Oculus itself says: > **Navigate the Web in VR with the Oculus Browser**
The Oculus Browser launches today on Gear VR. A fully native app that renders incredibly sharp video, images, and text in Gear VR, the new browser lets you search the web directly from Home. > Using the keyboard, navigate to your favorite sites like Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube just like you would on a desktop. The browser brings 2D and most 360 video content right into Oculus Home, with all the benefits of our newly built experience. But I'm not sure where this "Oculus Browser" and "keyboard" are located.
