How to disable "dreams" system service?

Some Android 5.0 users often complain about some system service constantly executing, so they just want to get rid of it *at any cost* to avoid battery drain. In my scenario, it's
DreamManagerService
which is unimportant right now.
Since this is a system service (service list | grep -i dream
), I can't find it in the process list (ps -x | grep -i dream
), and interestingly also not seeing it in init.rc
or similar. This internal service is not listed anywhere in the app -- I've already investigated with the "disable service" app.
So my question is more about: **how to stop a system service?** (specifically on Android)
Note: it has been reported by other users that in Android 6, apparently, this service is visible and can be handled much better.
---
As a short introduction (bonus FYI), the so-called DreamManagerService , namely DayDreams or simply screensaver, makes sense for OLED screens, which turn off black pixels, but some LCD IPS phones also allow this functionality (unreasonably).
Obviously, I have already checked that the configuration is okay (disable screensaver ), but the service is still running and somehow preventing the CPU from sleeping, thus eating up the battery. This fact can be diagnosed by using the Wakelock Detector app or a similar one.

Daydreaming -- does it decrease screen life?
Does enabling daydreaming (display a clock while charging, i.e. never turn the screen completely off while charing) affect the life of the screen in any significant way?

I'm using an old Wileyfox Swift as bedside clock, with FsClock-Android running as DayDream service showing the time.
To give the battery a long life, I prevent it from charging more than 80% via Battery Charge Limit .
Unfortunately the display (and thus the clock) is turned off when the battery is charged to 80% and the charge limit app stops charging.
How can I keep the display (and DreamService) on even if the battery is not charging anymore?
----
The phone runs LineageOS 17.1 (Android 10), rooted with Magisk.

I've got a Lenovo Solo VR headset. I've got a long, randomly generated password for my google account that is pretty much impossible to memorize without an eidetic memory. If you remove the goggles to look up the next few characters, the login process resets (this is pretty much the exact same problem on Android phones where switching apps to copy the password restarts the login process). It goes without saying that trying to type this in using the simple hand controller is a PITA (possible, but not fun). In order to use the Google Store, I changed my Google password to something far simpler (as simple as possible). Great, now I'm able to login, but when I change my password back to a long, complex, random password, Google Store kicks me out.
Other than creating a separate google account with a simple, easy-to-type password just for my VR goggles, is there any way to login to Google without a password? Or not have it log me out when I change my password?
If anybody from Google reads this, it would be great if Android or, at least, Daydream could just do what a bunch of other apps do and show me a short code in the headset, then I can visit a page on my computer where I log in as the account I want to activate and then type in the code.

I think it's safe to say the Google Cardboard has no electronic components inside the headset, right? So that's off the list.

- when to daydream = either docked or charging
- "start now" works fine.
I've connected my Nexus 4 by USB cable to a wall charger and "Clock" confirms *Charging (AC), 45%*
Settings > Display > Sleep
is set to 15 seconds while I try to get daydreaming to work. If/when it works, I'll probably set it to 2 minutes.
Despite the above settings, and being on AC power, **the phone never daydreams. Why not?**
This is a Nexus 4 with stock 4.2.2, not rooted, not superuser'ed (yet).

* Is it possible to allow Daydream also while on battery?
* If not, is there another option?
* Optional extra requirement: Ideally, the screen would turn of completely when it is covered.
I prefer ‘simple’ solutions, but am also interested in ones that are more complicated and involve, e.g., some form of automation. (They may also be of interest to others.)

Is there a way to change it so it does not turn off the screen when I tap the daydream? I guess it's a bug...?
I've tried with both the stock clock daydream and a third party one from the store and they behave the same in this manner.
Also - sometimes, this does work (the screen turns on), in exactly the same configuration.
This is on my Nexus 6P with Android 6.0.1

My Nexus 4 runs Android 4.4 and is set to use the standard "Clock" daydream while charging. It has no screen lock. This works fine so far.
Expected:
I would expect the screen to **wake up when I touch the daydreaming screen.**
Problem:
**Sometimes the screen turns off** when I touch it, rather than waking up.
Symptoms:
There might be a time element because this seems to happen when I have not touched the phone for many minutes, but it seems to work OK if it had only been daydreaming a few minutes. AC or USB charging does not seem to make any difference.
→ Why does the screen turn off instead of waking up, and how can I "fix" that?

Daydream mode is working as it should on a stock Nexus 4 4.2 device using the wireless charger however after a period of time daydream mode will shut off and put the screen in to sleep mode. This is not very conducive to being used as a clock in the middle of the night and thus I need to determine how I can get it to remain active throughout the evening, for an indeterminate amount of time.
I believe this is occurring after the phone reaches a certain charge, power delivery is suspended at which time once the sleep threshold is reached the phone will turn off, unless charging resumes. I could in theory set the sleep time to 30 minutes but would prefer a more elegant option.
