I have a Google Pixel 4 XL with Android 12 stock OS, and I'd like to use it for ethernet tethering (for devices not supporting wifi). I'd also like to concurrently keep this type of tethering enabled and charge the phone when needed. However, because I can't charge it via USB-C cable while already connected to a RJ45 cable (though I'm using an adapter), I thought wireless charging, since it is supported, could solve the problem. But unfortunately it disables and blocks tethering until I put the phone off the wireless pad and re-plug the adapter. Is there a way to fix this (through Developer Options or else)?

How to launch app when phone is connected to a specific Qi wireless charger?
I have a Qi charger in my car and I wanted that my phone launched the dash cam app when the phone starts charging on this base. Is there any API to detect the ID of the Qi charger? Besides the API, is there any way to generate an event when the phone starts charging?

I've just got a Huawei P30 (standard, not Pro or Lite) and realised it doesn't feature NFC - with no less than 4 wireless chargers in my house and 2 in my office. But I use Google Pay all the time - in many ways I rely on it. I've done some Googling and I can't find much info about this - the closest I came was an article about wireless charging slowly damaging the NFC controller chip over time in a Nexus 7 due to a circuitry flaw. Would adding a Qi adapter pad inside a case affect the data-only NFC on the device? With it not being a native feature, I can imagine there may be some safety drawbacks to the internal antenna and circuitry. But at the same time, Huawei had an official wireless charging case available. So, maybe it's not a problem for the P30?

Wireless Charging stopped working; Could it be a software issue? (Samsung Galaxy S3)

I've had a Samsung Galaxy S3 for a few years, I even upgraded to a newer model, and revered back to my trusty ol' S3 because I missed it, and was and was happy with it's size & features. Eventually the USB charge port stopped working (a common problem on this model). Replacement part is under $2 but microsoldering & board repair are beyond my skill level, so I got a 2nd battery + external charger, which I've been swapping out twice a day for six months. It's a bit of a pain, so when I realized ***Qi-style Wireless Charging*** could be inexpensively "retrofit" to my device, I was thrilled! The transmitter & receiver pad arrived yesterday. I placed the pad under the battery cover as instructed (touching the previously-mysterious 2nd set of charging contacts), put it on the transmitter, and *voilà*, my charging headaches were solved! It charged faster than plugging it in [used to], and even worked with my rubber case attached. **Hooray!** *Until the next day.* **:-(** Today the phone does not detect the wireless charger. I've tried restarting the phone repeatedly, tried two batteries on each of two receiver pads (they accidentally sent 2 instead of 1), tried with/without case & cover, and even different power sources & cables to the transmitter. **None of these steps worked which leads me to believe this is a software problem... Is that possible?** If I can't get it working I'm obviously going to send the parts back and go back to constantly swapping batteries but I'm hoping someone has a suggestion. Could there be settings I am unaware of? When working, *Ampere Meter * app said it was charging wirelessly at 1050mA. Receiver pads are rated for 800Ma; Batteries are 3.87v/7.98/Wh/2100mAh. As I recall it would charge around 650mA back when the charge port worked. Photo is similar receiver pad, on same model of phone: Wireless Charging Receiver Pad Installation on Samsung Galaxy S3 Samsung Galaxy S3, rooted (with no other issues), running Kitkat 4.4.4. - Link to [Samsung Wireless Charging Support](https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00047798/) .

It does show on my phone that it is charging but the phone never increases in stored charge. For example, went to bed last night with phone at 22% and woke up to a 1% battery life. A friend of mine told me, like it was a fact, that qi (wireless) charging is not safe and it damages battery because it heats it. I just bought one charger, but would like to avoid damaging my Nexus. Could not find out any information about it on the internet though, which makes me even more sceptical, that it just might be a rumour of some kind. I am currently charging right now and it is getting kind of warm. The temperature according to a system monitor is just 32 degree Celsius. Seems normal to me.

I have Nexus 7 (2013, rooted). I have seen plenty of examples of people being able to successfully modify Android system scripts such as chargemon to essentially hijack the few scripts running when an Android device is turned off, but plugged in through USB to charge. However, it doesn't seem that induction charging is able to offer any kind of trigger that can be taken advantage of to automatically boot up the device. Is it possible to achieve this goal without a factory hardware set, no modifications? I'm not a hardware guy, so I really don't know anything about what I could/should do in that respect, but if hardware changes are my only option then it's not something I wouldn't look into. Are there even hardware modifications that could be possible to achieve this functionality?

Can someone explain that? Thanks for you help. It is exactly this device: QI charger from ravpower **Edit 2:** Looking at the website of the maker, it seems that they sell a mobile power bank as well. Perhaps they use the same packaging for the mobile power bank wireless charger and the wireless charger without battery. **Edit 3:** I found the packaging on the internet. Picture of the box

Is there a way to enable Qi Wireless charging for Nexus 6P or Nexus 5X? They had wireless charging in all the previous Nexus models and I'm sure it's a hidden feature in there somewhere.

I've just received a "smartfox qi " wireless charger as a gift, but it won't charge my Nexus 4 despite its indicator light turning on, and the Nexus 4 says "charging wireless". Still, it doesn't charge, the battery graph shows a power depletion just as if it were just lying on a desk. It's running stock 4.2.2 without a case. The charger has the exact same dimensions as the Nexus 4, so I just placed it exactly on top. I'm thinking that the wireless coils didn't match up well enough. So my question is: **Where in the Nexus 4 are those charging coils? How do I have to place it to ensure maximum-efficiency charging?** *Bonus questions:* 1. Wireless charging heats up the Nexus 4 a lot. Is this really healthy? Won't it significantly reduce the lifetime of the (non-replaceable!) Nexus 4 battery? 1. What specific product would be a good recommendation, specifically for the Nexus 4?

Is there some method to make wireless charging take priority over wired (USB) charging? I have a device that has to be plugged in to the micro-USB port of the Nexus, and it is preventing wireless charging from occurring. The device only draws power from the USB, but still wireless charging stops the moment it is plugged in. Google has not been helpful so far. There seem to be other phones whose wired charging stops when placed on a wireless charger, but apparently not the Nexus (nor have I been able to find a user's manual which states which one takes priority). There doesn't seem to be any visible setting in Android. Any clues? Maybe some App which can set the charging priority? Completely disabling USB charging is also fine, as long as the USB can still supply power to connected devices (rooting is not an option).

Different transmitters seem to cause different rates of cycling, but I haven't done a real experiment to see what those are. Any suggestions?
