I use Google Calendar instead of the stock calendar on my LG G5. I travel internationally on a weekly basis, and the Calendar app would automatically adjust the calendar events' scheduled time once I landed to a different time zone (if Auto Date & Time is on) or once I adjusted the time zone manually (if Auto Date & Time is off). The fact that Calendar Events' times got changed is utterly impractical and annoying. For example, I would add an event at 8pm on a future date in that destination of a different time zone, and once I land there, the Calendar event time will be changed to 2pm. This throws off the timing of all my events. I almost missed several flights because the alarm did not go off at the right time, especially in connected flights crossing multiple time zones. How can I stop Calendar from doing that? If I recall, iPhone does not do that.

I unchecked all types of notification in Google Play Store, but nothing happens. Is someone experiencing this as well and maybe know a fix? The device it's LG G5.

# Background information (you can skip this) The [Sensor Detect](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fatac.sensordetect) app says that the LG G5 includes a "LGE Step Counter Sensor" made by "QTI" which uses about 0.18 mA of energy. "QTI" could theoretically be [QTI Sensing](https://www.qtisensing.com/) , but I suspect it's actually [Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.](https://www.qualcomm.com/company/about) [This Medium post](https://louis993546.medium.com/quick-tech-support-undocumented-mostly-qti-sensors-on-android-devices-d7e2fb6c5064) discusses QTI sensors for Android devices. Google [writes](https://developer.android.com/guide/topics/sensors/sensors_motion) that, on Android devices, the "step counter and step detector sensors are either hardware-based or software-based." The LG G5 includes a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 MSM8996 system-on-chip (SoC). This chip, in turn, includes a Hexagon 680 DSP with a Low Power Island for sensor processing. Qualcomm [explains](https://www.qualcomm.com/news/onq/2015/08/24/snapdragon-820-countdown-new-hexagon-680-dsp) : "The aptly named 'low-power island' is designed to improve the battery life of always-on use cases, including step or activity counters". All modern Qualcomm SoCs sold nowadays include a Hexagon DSP built in. Software developers can [download](https://developer.qualcomm.com/software/hexagon-dsp-sdk) the Qualcomm Hexagon DSP software development kit (SDK) at no charge. # Questions for you A.) Do you suspect that all major step-counting apps, when installed on the LG G5, do low-power step counting? B.) How can I get some hint as to whether a step-counting app is doing high-power or low-power step counting? For example, can I unzip the .apk file and search through the contents to see what libraries it includes or what methods it calls? ### Postscript In case I need to root my phone in order to get an answer to question B: My particular LG G5 variant (H831) is locked down by design. It's only partially rootable; see [this post](https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/info-autoprimes-all-in-one-g5-thread-updated-april-11-2017.3350648/#post-66165164) and [this other post](https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/experimental-full-adb-root-system-rw-and-dm-verity-off-for-all-g5s.3523499/#post-70197625) . I haven't tried the [Snapdragon Profiler](https://developer.qualcomm.com/software/snapdragon-profiler) , but I know it doesn't require root. # Edit [This post from Google](https://stackoverflow.com/questions/27078334/how-is-it-possible-that-google-fit-app-measures-number-of-steps-all-the-time-wit#30063262) states that Google Fit uses your device's step counter sensor.

for the past few weeks my LG G5 has been unexpectedly restarting, apps have been crashing, and I've been getting messages like "Unfortunately Bluetooth has stopped" but for pretty much every app/service. Also, I've had the phone get stuck on boot loops which has made removing the battery the only solution to getting it to start again. I've tried restarting the phone, resetting network connections, even doing a factory reset twice, none of which help. Even after the factory reset, before even putting in my Gmail account, I get a message "Google Play Services keeps crashing" and then "Google Duo keeps crashing", repeatedly to the point where I can't even do a internet search due to these messages popping up ever 1 second. If I do anything even a little memory intensive, the phone will restart which makes me wonder if it's a hardware issue with the memory. I've had the phone for less than a year (It was a refurbished unit that was replaced under a third-party warranty I bought when I first about the phone from Costco). Otherwise the phone is in great condition. Not sure if it's just time to get a new phone. Any ideas? Thanks.

I have an LG G5, and I recently took a video of 5 minutes with it (the maximum) which appeared to be corrupted. The phone stopped the video alone since it arrived to the maximum recording time, and started saving - something that took some pretty long minutes.
After a while of not touching my phone (to not accidentally interrupt the saving) I wanted to watch the video and realized it's corrupted and can't be open. In the file explorer, I found two files in the format of DATE_TIME.mp4 (1.6GB) and DATE_TIME_temp.mp4 (0KB). Any possible (free) way to fix this video?
How can I make sure it won't happen next time? Thanks! *Note: If relevant - not rooted, stock rom, latest update.*

I have an LG G5. I recorded a video interview I had with Bruce Campbell. The video was slightly over 20 minutes long recording at 1080p at 60fps. I noted while it was recording that the video was automatically split into two separate videos. The first video is the lion share of length at about 20 minutes long and around 4gb in size if I recall correctly. The second video is about 17 seconds long. A few days after the interview the audio on my phone stopped working. I was googling around how to fix the issue and I saw that factory resetting the phone was a common fix. I did a factory reset, it said that it would not affect data on the SD card. After the factory reset the 17 second video appears to be intact and working. The longer 20 minute video seems to show a file size of 0kb in the file manager. Whenever I try to play the video I get a message that says Android does not recognize the video file type. I have been doing some googling around and thankfully there does seem to be ways to recover lost data from an Android phone after a factory reset. What I am looking to do is recover the lost video that was in the Android Phone after the factory reset. Thank you for your help, I will gladly provide any further information or screenshots if you need them.

I recently purchased an LG G5 phone. I am using the "Home with app drawer" home mode because I like having the app drawer. I need to clear the data cache for an individual app. I know that you normally access this via the App Manager, selecting the desired app, and then clicking the "Clear Cache" button. However, when I go into Settings on my phone, I can't find "App Manager". The closest that I can find in Settings is "Apps". This screen lists all of my apps, but when I select one, there is no "Clear Cache" button. How am I supposed to do this?

I keep getting this one notification from Call Services on an AT&T LG G5 that says "Mobile Data Turned Off." Indeed, mobile data is turned off when I switch from cellular data to a wi-fi connection, but I don't need this notification. How can I stop this notification from appearing? My one thought would be to have an app that blocks notifications that contain that certain text, but I haven't been able to find an app that does this. Notifications from Call Services can't be blocked in Notifications settings.

My LG G5 request PIN at start up. It always work except for twice where my PIN won't work and I have to do a hard reset and losing all my data. For the second time, I tried locking into my Google account and using Google's Android Device Manager to reset the PIN with the lock feature (I suspect the PIN somehow mysteriously got reset to something else), but I Google said I already have a screen lock (PIN) and adding lock code is not needed. So I am stuck again other than doing a hard restart. Local repair shop won't take my service because I lost my purchase receipt. Has anyone experience the same issue and have a work around? Thank you.
