BT headphone Back/Forward buttons don't work with Firefox viewing YouTube

I'm using the latest FireFox app on Pixel 6a.
When I watch YouTube in FireFox and press Next/Back buttons nothing happens.
When I do the same within the YouTube app it jumps to next or previous video on playlist.
I have searched and it seems this has been a known bug for 13 years. Just hoping someone here has a suggestion.
