Im thinking to buy the mac mini m4 and connect it to my asus monitor.

Since i have never had a mac, i borrowed a macbook from a friend to check the os,so i connected it to the monitor.
However, in 4k resolution, everything looks tiny in the UI. Searching the web i saw that i should have some scaled option however i didnt see it.
Changing to 2k everything seems big and little blurry.
It is currently connected using a hdmi->hub->type c to the macbook.
I tried it with opened lid.
Anything that might solve it? Also, can i somehow make sure it will work good with the mac mini m4?
Thank you
**Update:**
So I think that I understood little more about the scaling thing. However, I still dont get something. According to a YouTube video I saw, if I go to system information it should show the monitor resolution + UI looks like (image from the video):
However, in my case its always the same in both. if i choose 2k both resolution and UI looks like = 2k and same goes for 4k. why?
