Why can’t phantom files in trash in macOS Sequoia 15.5 be deleted?

I have a strange issue with my Mac Mini with macOS Sequoia 15.5 installed. When I run a SuperDuper backup, it backs up my boot drive to a target image on an external drive. No biggy. ut it's sending some files to the trash for some reason, and I cannot empty the trash because these files are in use. I've contacted SuperDuper and they say they don't send anything to the trash. So this is some kind of OS housekeeping issue. I've turned off iCloud and that didn't work. I automate two different backups every week so I can't reboot to empty the trash of some odd files. How can I fix this? This isn't a SuperDuper issue, but a macOS issue. In ~/.Trash:
