How to delete an account on a Mac

I recently purchased a MacBook Pro from 2011. After setting it up, I created a new administrator account in my name. Now, I would like to remove the previous account from the Mac, but I'm unsure of the steps to follow. If anyone could provide guidance on how to delete an account on macOS, I would greatly appreciate it.
