I'm trying to setup a server on an ArchBang OS. I get installation warnings/errors when I try to install FreeNX on an ArchBang OS. I also get an Authentication error that stops the NX server. I don't know if the two are related. Hello I am using ArchBang on old laptop Dell D410 (Dell D410 Technical Specification ). I have troubles with wifi. My assumption (please read bellow explanation why I deducted this) is that I cannot even enable the wifi adapter with keyboard shortcuts (fn+F2). Before current installation of ArchBang release, the box was running on Windows XP with legacy version (unfortunately I do not remember the exact version) of ArchBang in dual boot. On Windows XP the wifi was running correctly. On legacy version of ArchBang there was the same problem which I have with actual version of ArchBang. When I tried to enable wifi (using fn+F2) on legacy ArchBang the message: “problem with mapping of keyboard shortcut (or something similar)” was written to dmesg (or maybe /var/log/messages sorry I do not remember exactly). The box was then reinstalled to recent version of ArchBang hoping it will solve the problem. Now when I press fn+F2 I do not get any message not in dmesg nor in /var/log/messages. However I’ve tried to issue xev and see what happens: and the result is that all shortcuts (brightness, sound control etc.) are working fine (also in real, and in the xev the codes are returned as well), except those which controls wifi (fn+F2). So my assumption is that I have problem not directly with wifi but with enabling the adapter. Wireless is enabled in BIOS, the wireless LED is not flashing. Can I issue some command from command line to enable wifi interface instead of using fn+F2 shortcut? Anyone know what is this folder for, and if it's safe to delete it? It's an ArchBang box, and this folder was there ever since install. I'm not really sure if it's just some junk left after installation, or if it genuinely has some purpose? (edit: it's empty)

I have just installed archbang 2014 on my laptop Asus K53SV. I followed the instruction on Archbang wiki. I have already installed ntfs-3g, but I can not access to the internal (ntfs-formatted) devices. Last week I tried Crunchbang 11, it couldn't connect to wireless. Yesterday I removed it and installed Archbang from CD (final 2012 version). Everything was working perfectly, when I did pacman -Syu and rebooted, Archbang stopped detecting my wireless card so I bet that the new Linux drivers aren't compatible with my HP Pavillion G. It's not the first time that I've seen drivers incompatible with my laptop, I've seen it last week with Crunchbang, and I've had graphics issues with every Linux that i've used on this laptop. What I would like to do is simple. I want to downgrade the Archbang wireless drivers, I want my original drivers back, the ones installed in the final 2012 version (I have the CD, can I use it?), and then I don't want to allow pacman to upgrade my wireless drivers, so next time I run pacman -Syu, I want everything to be upgraded except my wireless drivers, and if possible my graphic card drivers. You see Ubuntu 12.04 works great, 12.10 doesn't work at all, I don't even see the login screen, even with nomodeset. I don't want that to happen, and Archbang is a rolling release so I don't know if the next time I upgrade my packages I'll face some issues, I want to allow pacman to upgrade everything, just don't mess with my graphics and my wireless, that's it.

I installed archlinux but I want to get the look and feel of Archbang. Is there a way to find the config files or scripts for Archbang? http://bbs.archbang.org/viewtopic.php?id=2501 gives a list of packages but I also want the resources and quick ref of key bindings in the background, menus, default application and other things I don't know about. The reason I don't want to install Archbang is because I want to follow the Arch Way. the reason I want Archbang config files is because people already thought about usability and solved that problem for me. I like their solution.
