I had to hard-reboot my Raspberry Pi (unplug the power) running Ubuntu Server 20.04 and since then I cannot run the console music playermocp anymore. The program runs through the initialization of OSS and ALSA drivers, then fails with the message FATAL_ERROR: No valid sound driver! I have tried purging the package (via apt-get purge mocp) and reinstalling it, but the error message remains. Googling around this question brings up a few very old threads ([here](https://moc.daper.net/node/485) and [here](http://moc.daper.net/node/278)) on MOC's own discussion boards, suggesting this to be either an ALSA issue or with the sound card, but I'm not sure about this since when I run alsamixer it starts and I can do things like change the volume of it. Plus, if run other programs that use audio like mpg123 the audio is fine. Detailed error log extracted with mocp -F is shown below, sorry if it's a little verbose. Does anybody know what might be causing this? Many thanks! there is a a computer (homeserver) in the lan (24/4 on) with speakers connected. the linux system can play music with the programm "mocp" (music on console). i would like to give other users in the lan access to moc to play music. they should connect with ssh to the computer. but there must be a user they only can run the moc programm, if it ends, the ssh connection must end. there is a specific directory (with the music to play) only this should moc and the ssh user see and use. (if moc starts, it can be disconnected with "q" or with "Q" quit.) is this possible, and how?

Loop audio file from the command line (gapless) or into new file
The only command line solution for gapless playback I found so far (working with ALSA and JACK) is `moc (»music on console«)`. While I'm still searching for a simpler way I was wondering if it is possible to loop an audio file into a new file for a given number of times? Something like: lo...

Something like: loop-audio infile.flac --loop 32 outfile.flac for repeating infile.flac 32 times into outfile.flac
