I am using a wacom bamboo graphics tablet in a dual monitor setup on Linux Mint 19 Cinnamon. My combined screen has a significantly different aspect ratio then the graphics tablet. When I draw a perfect circle on the graphics tablet the mouse on the screen draws an ellipse.
**How can I map my graphics tablet to both screens preserving a correct aspect ratio?**
For a correct aspect ratio a part of the tablet has to be dead. The following illustration shows my current mapping on the left, and my desired mapping on the right.
In the cinnamon system preferences, there is a »keep aspect ratio« setting that only works for single monitors. I can enable »keep aspect ratio« as long as »map to single monitor« is enabled. When I disable »map to single monitor« then »keep aspect ratio« automatically turns off too.

Is it possible to configure a wacom intuos button with `xsetwacom` in a way that pressing that button enables/disables the touch function?

I am using an active pen (one that has a battery) on my Touchpad and it has stopped working. I am trying to find out whether the problem is in the hardware or software. The touchscreen is working fine, so it is only the pen/stylus version that is not working.
What I have so far:
1. The devices are recognized fine,
xcorat@mobilextrem:~xinput --list
...
⎜ ↳ Wacom Co.,Ltd. Pen and multitouch sensor Finger touch id=10 [slave pointer (2)]
⎜ ↳ Wacom Co.,Ltd. Pen and multitouch sensor Pen stylus id=11 [slave pointer (2)]
⎜ ↳ Wacom Co.,Ltd. Pen and multitouch sensor Pen eraser id=17 [slave pointer (2)]
...
2.
evemu-record
shows events on the touch, but not the pen/stylus. The same thing with probing cat /dev/input/event9
vs cat /dev/input/event8
which are the pen and touch.
At this point I feel like it might be the pen itself (i changed the battery :/). Is there any other layer that might be software that I am missing?

I have recently installed Debian Jessie on my computer, and purchased a new Wacom Intuos tablet. I was expecting to be able to simply plug it in and use it, as I have with Wacom devices on Debian in the past, however this was not the case.
GNOME's Wacom tablet configuration tool is entirely unable to detect the tablet, as is
xsetwacom --list devices
. /dev/wacom
does not exist.
I have tried to install xf86-input-wacom
, as per the debian wiki , however apt reports that the package does not exist. Additionally, wacom-tools
is nowhere to be found, despite the WacomTablets guide suggesting that it might help in making Wacom tablets work.

I am trying to get my *Wacom Intuos CTH-490CK* up and running under Arch Linux. The device is recognized and everything but the buttons work. However, most guides suggest to install the proper kernel module, which is not necessary when using a recent kernel (*4.9.8-1* in my case). I read that removing libwacom and just installing xf86-input-wacom and input-wacom-dkms might fix my issues (post in german Arch Linux Forum ), but trying to remove *libwacom* leaves me with the following error:
> error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
> :: libinput: removing libwacom breaks dependency 'libwacom'
Forcing the deletion of the package (
pacman -Rdd libwacom
) leaves me without mouse and keyboard or any external input devices. As I don't see a Wacom device in */dev* I added a new udev rule:
$ cat /etc/udev/rules.d/10-wacom.rule
ATTRS{idVendor}=="056a", ATTRS{idProduct}=="0084", SYMLINK+="input/tablet-intuos5-s"
This didn't work either. I also tried a manual setup using xorg :
$ cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/01-wacom.conf
Section "InputDevice"
Driver "wacom"
Identifier "stylus"
Option "Device" "/dev/input/wacom" # or the corresponding event?? for a static setup
Option "Type" "stylus"
# Option "USB" "on" # USB ONLY
# Option "Mode" "Relative" # other option: "Absolute"
Option "Vendor" "WACOM"
# Option "tilt" "on" # add this if your tablet supports tilt
Option "Threshold" "5" # the official linuxwacom howto advises this line
EndSection
Section "InputDevice"
Driver "wacom"
Identifier "pad"
Option "Device" "/dev/input/wacom" # or the corresponding event?? for a static setup
Option "Type" "pad"
# Option "USB" "on" # USB ONLY
# Option "Mode" "Relative" # other option: "Absolute"
Option "Vendor" "WACOM"
# Option "tilt" "on" # add this if your tablet supports tilt

Do you have any suggestions on how to get the four hardware buttons on the tablet working and how I can bring up a device in */dev*? Please find additional information below. If you need more just let me know,
