Is stereoscopic vision via OTG and 2 USB cameras possible?

I'm thinking of making a stereoscopic night vision device by using 2 USB cameras connected via OTG (type C) to my Android phone. I've already tested 1 USB camera and some VR App from the Play Store and it was a success. Will 2 cameras work if connected to the same OTG cable via a USB splitter/hub of some sort? Is there a way (or app) to display one camera over half of the screen and the other camera in the other half? Is it even possible to have 2 cameras powered and displayed at the same time?
