When "Reduce motion" is enabled, it annoys me that the screen 'blinks' when changing from one app to the other. Is there way of disabling this blink?
This annoys me a bit as I've got sensitive eyes and I would love to find a solution. Haven't found anything on macos official websites

Why do we need a motion coprocessor?
Apple talks about the M7 and M8 motion coprocessors for the iPhone pedometer and other operations. My question is **Why do we need a motion coprocessor?** Surely this is just digital signal processing that the massively powerful primary processor can handle?

Today, due to some reasons I factory-reset my iPhone. When I’m setting up (pressing those “Get Started”), I found something fishy in the Health app.
I rarely work after 1am, and recently I did start sleeping before midnight. I found that there are some walking records, timestamped at night, around 3-6am. My immediate guess is that someone moved my phone at night during my sleep.
I’m not sure whether it is normal. For example, is iOS using location service to locate my phone’s approximate location so as to calculate how many “steps” I *walked*, or is it solely using the motion sensors?
I usually put my phone near my pillow. However, because the numbers of steps are not small (at least 10), it should not be caused by my movement during sleep time.
Since I’m not asking with respect to information security, I’m not looking for counter-measures. So any ideas about the causes are welcome, even if they don’t address to solutions.

iPhone SE powers on whenever moved, defective?

Got a new grey iPhone SE for Christmas from the Verizon store. Seems to work fine except for one issue. When the phone is off (standby), any sudden motion turns the phone on, as if the home or power button were pressed.
Let me be clear: Nothing is in contact with the power button or home button when this happens. The phone isn't getting any calls or messages or other notifications.
There's a passcode, so nothing bad happens, but it's unsettling to open the pocketbook and see the phone screen all lit up.
Is this something deliberate? Can it be configured? Or is the phone just defective?

Motion tracking no longer working on 6S

I recently purchased an iPhone 6S, and the motion tracking worked for a few days, but then in the past four days it has recorded no steps or flights climbed. This morning, the phone started recording data again, but only briefly (maybe 2 hours); it currently is not collecting any motion data. I've been using Apple's Health app and the FitBit app. I tried turning motion tracking off and then back on, restarted the phone, no luck. I'm on iOS 9.0.2. Any ideas?

What's the difference between the M7 and M8 coprocessors? I've been unable to find a clear answer online. On the iPhone 6 webpage, Apple simply states:
> When you’re in motion, the M8 motion coprocessor continuously measures
> data from the accelerometer, compass, gyroscope, and a new barometer.
> This offloads work from the A8 chip for improved power efficiency. And
> now those sensors do even more, measuring your steps, distance, and
> elevation changes.
Is the only difference the ability to track data from the new barometer?

Contention for M7 Motion Chip?
What happens when multiple apps access the M7 motion chip? When one app reads a step count, does it zero the counter for other apps, or will other apps also be able to access the step count and double count the steps? What happens when multiple apps access the M7 motion chip? When one app reads a step count, does it zero the counter for other apps, or will other apps also be able to access the step count and double count the steps?
For example, I use MyFitnessPal and RunKeeper. At work today, while fairly sedentary, I enabled access to the M7 processor in MyFitnessPal. It tracked about 1500 steps. This evening, I went out for a walk and turned on RunKeeper. It logged my activity in MyFitnessPal when I was done, and the steps in MyFitnessPal dropped to zero. I lost the ~1500 steps from earlier in the day. What's going on?

Is there any way to diagnose if the M7 motion coprocessor on my iPhone 5S is faulty?
