What do I have to do to allow Adobe Reader to see all my files and folders in Fedora 41 KDE spin?

I'm running Fedora 41 KDE spin. I used Discover to install the Flatpak distribution of Adobe Reader. When I try to right-click
Open With > Adobe Reader 9
on a file in Dolphin, it silently fails. When I launch Adobe Reader and select File > Open...
, the dialog displays only the Documents folder in my home directory and does not show /run/media under the File System location.
Update #1:
Per ChanganAuto's suggested link to AskUbuntu, I installed FlatSeal and set some filesystem permissions for Adobe. Now I can browse to my mounted drive and see the file I want to open, but when I try to open it, Adobe terminates. When I run flatpak run com.adobe.Reader
in a terminal window, I see lots of "CRITICAL" lines having to do with Gdk and GdkPixbuf and GLib-GIO but nothing that gives me an idea as to why the open fails and why the app is terminated.
Update #2:
I posted this question on fedoraforums.org and was advised to install a few supporting packages and then the rpm from the Adobe site. The installations went smoothly, and now Reader opens the file, but unfortunately it is too old to understand the new format and extensions used.
For now, there seems to be no resolution.

I use openSUSE LEAP 15.2 with a KDE desktop, and I want to download some collections of PDF files that include an index (IDX and PDX files) for each collection. I'd like to be able to search and view the index files, and view PDF files from the hit list. The Adobe PDF Reader is very old and doesn't handle the latest formats. What packages are available for this?

I received a file from a business that needed me to enter a password. It wouldn't unlock and I called him. He said that I needed the latest version of Adobe. Apparently none of the pdf readers I have installed can read the latest password-protected file generated by Acrobat. There doesn't seem to be an Acrobat for Linux any longer, or at least it isn't listed on the download list. I attempted to load Acrobat reader for windows into wine, but it failed for some reason.
I'm running Mint Mate 19.
Is there any way I can read it on Linux? I'd hate to have to buy a Windows system just for that.
Thanks,
Jim.

On opening with this app, i get below error.

ADOB-DWN

First things first - If I got it right, the Linux folks might like adobe alternatives like GIMP (instead of Photoshop) etc to work with images/pdf/videos on Linux. So they might never miss adobe products on Linux.
But what brings me to this question is - i found a article which describes on: How to Install Adobe Acrobat Reader on Ubuntu 20.04 Focal Fossa Linux
I was surprised, because as per my understanding, none of adobe products are available for linux platforms (correct me if I am wrong ). Then I though Acrobat Reader might be an exception and checked on adobe site. My finding is as captured on the screenshot. --> No, there is no Linux Version of acrobat reader on adobe site.
1) I want to understand how ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/unix/9.x/9.5.5/enu/AdbeRdr9.5.5-1_i386linux_enu.deb exists when adobe does not show it on their website (ok even unix version is not listed on there website).
2) Like Acrobat Reader, are there any other products like Flash etc that can obtained through FTP.
