Get rid of auto correct feature in Kile 2.9.93

I’m on Kile 2.9.93 using Devuan Daedalus (non-systemd version of Debian Bookworm). One very nagging feature of Kile is that when I wish to input a diacritic letter directly from my keyboard (for e.g., ā, ś, ñ, etc.) it gets automatically converted to =a, 's, ~n, etc. This severely disrupts my workflow when I wish to use the autocomplete feature to input words into my document. Searching for a particular word also becomes a problem. How can I get Kile out of my way to directly input diacritic letters?

Remove duplicates in file (without sorting!) leaving the _last_ of the occurences
Following https://www.baeldung.com/linux/history-remove-avoid-duplicates, I added clean_history() { awk '!a[$0]++' $HOME/.bash_history > $HOME/.bash_history.tmp && mv $HOME/.bash_history.tmp $HOME/.bash_history } trap clean_history DEBUG # execute after every command to my ~/.bashrc file in order to...
Following https://www.baeldung.com/linux/history-remove-avoid-duplicates , I added clean_history() { awk '!a[$0]++' $HOME/.bash_history > $HOME/.bash_history.tmp && mv $HOME/.bash_history.tmp $HOME/.bash_history } trap clean_history DEBUG # execute after every command to my ~/.bashrc file in order to ensure that after every command is executed, duplicate entries are removed. This is important for me, because kile (the KDE LaTeX editor) leaves a ton of "clear" and "cd ..." commands in the history, effectively destroying the history within a single session of LaTeX-writing. And I have not found any way to prevent kile to do that. Anyway... the above line of code effectively removes all subsequent entries of a command and leaves the first entry in the history. However, I want the _last_ entry to remain in the history and all previous entries to be deleted. How can do this? By the way: Kile ignores HISTCONTROL=ignoredups:erasedups so using this approach seems not to be an option. I would also be happy if we could prevent Kile to write into the history all together. Non-duplicates: - https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/190919/removing-duplicate-entries-in-text-file is leaving the first entry in the file - so does https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/525481/how-to-remove-duplicate-lines-inside-a-text-file-get-the-number-of-the-removed - https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/20747/how-to-stop-bash-appending-history uses HISTCONTROL

How to configure inverse and forward search in Kile (LaTeX editor)

How can I delete marks in Kile/Kate in vim-mode?
When setting marks in Kile’s/Kate’s vim-mode via `m.` the line will be highlighted. This can be annoying and the attempt to remove the mark via `:delmarks` fails with `unknown command: “delmarks”`. **Is it possible to remove marks in Kate’s vi editor?** How if so?

How to change background color of side pane of Kate and Kile?
I am trying to customize the color scheme of Kile/Kate. I could do it, except I could not find any way to change the color of the side pane such as files, etc. I prefer dark background, and having dark background in editing space and white background in the left pane is not good for my eyes.

How to install Kile on Debian KDE 7.3 32 bit?

For the past week or so, I'm trying to install **Kile** in Debian 7.3 kde desktop *after* installing TexLive 2013 from a CTAN mirror (downloading the installer in a home directory, decompressing it in install-tl-20140123 and launching the /.install-tl). I had installed perl-tk but apparently it doesn't work when called by /.install-tl so I had to make-do with the text interface. I installed a small version of TeXLive (13 or so packages for a tot of ~730MB). Now, when I go to install Kile from Synaptick Package Manager I get many packages automatically ticked for installation including texlive-common,texlive-base, luatex. From what I've read on the Internet, I need to fool the system into believing it already has those packages by creating so-called dummy packages so the system only installs Kile. Is there someone who has a **correct** and easy guide on how to do so?
