/opt/openoffice4/program/soffice: line 121: 18205 Segmentation fault (core dumped) "$sd_prog/$sd_binary" "$@"
java -XshowSettings:properties -version

java.home = /usr/lib/jvm/java-11-openjdk-11.0.7.10-0.fc30.x86_64
This machine previously had JavaSE 8 JDK installed, and OpenOffice worked. Then Java SE JDK was wiped clean, and JDK 11 installed. Since then OO did not work.

When I do this, I get the following error:

I do not know why I have conflicting packages even though I don't have OpenOffice installed. I've tried to remove the conflicting packages, but it just spits out another error I do not understand. Am I doing something wrong? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

drwx------ 1 m m 0 Apr 11 19:50 ../

when I want to open this file with OpenOffice 7.1.2.2, I am getting an error that the file is open with other users and can not be opened for writing.
I can edit the file if I move it to the desktop. and copy it back to NAS drive (so it is not locked as I can write on it).
what is the problem and how can I fix it?
it should be noted that the NAS uses SAMBA 1.0 and I enabled it in ubuntu 20.04.
# Edit 1
there is no lock file:

I would like to convert a string into a date with the accuracy of seconds, for example: "12.12.2020 14:02".
It seems that this is not possible? The DATEVALUE(datetext) culls the hours/mins/seconds information, and TIMEVALUE(datetext) culls the date information, leaving only hours, minutes and seconds.
Is it possible to somehow combine date and time values, to use DATEVALUE and TIMEVALUE together, adding them up, converting to a date, with the accuracy of seconds?
A DATETIMEVALUE(datetext) function would come handy in this case, unfortunately it seems to not exist.

I have an Open Office Spreadsheet document stored inside a bash variable. I want to do something like the following to feed Open Office via
STDIN
:
echo "$openOfficeDoc" | ooffice
But it doesn't work.
*Note:* The content of the bash variable must not be written to disk.
I'll emphasize that I'm trying to pass to Open Office the actual data of the file.
I'm trying to store passwords in an Open Office Spreadsheet file. The passwords are encrypted using GPG. I don't want the passwords to be written to disk for security reasons.
The bash variable value is a binary blob of an Open Office Spreadsheet document. It is **not** ASCII.
The bash code I used to create the blob is:
data=$(cat "Encrypted.gpg" | gpg -u "Dor" -d)
While Encrypted.gpg
is an encrypted file of an Open Office Spreadsheet.
Is it possible to feed Open Office via STDIN?

Any ideas where to go from here?
Just some more information: I used
yum install openoffice
and then checked that the rpm was there by typing rpm -q openoffice
. Also the openoffice
directory is there but I think that's from the original install.

Recently this started happening for no apparent reason: If I click a desktop link to a .odt or .doc file (and presumably others), I get a warning dialog that says:
This will start the program
openoffice4 -writer %U
If you do not trust this program, click cancel
If I click "continue", then I get a dialog with this error message:
Unable to make the service OpenOffice 4.1.1 Writer executable, aborting execution
This was working fine for a year or so, and only just suddenly start showing this behavior. I didn't make any changes that I can think of, that should affect this. The googling I've done to date doesn't turn up anything helpful either.
Any idea on how to resolve this? If it helps, I can start openoffice just fine from the command line, and Iv'e confirmed that the program files in /opt/openoffice4 (like swriter, etc) have the executable bit set. And the current user is the owner of those files as well.

From a Bash terminal in a popular GNU/Linux distro, how can a non-password-protected [OpenDocument Text (.odt)](OpenDocument Text) document be transformed into a password-protected one?
Unfortunately, the LibreOffice man-page does not even contain the string "password", so is not much help here.
I do not wish to wrap the file in an encrypted container such as a [ZIP file](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zip_%28file_format%29) that will require it to be extracted before it can be opened by LibreOffice. It is important the the recipient of the file will be able to open it without needing anything except LibreOffice and knowledge of the file's password.
I would prefer to achieve the desired result using LibreOffice itself and/or standard GNU/Linux utilities, if possible. Otherwise, I would prefer to use only free software applications that are commonly packaged for GNU/Linux distros.

I have an Open Document Master file, which has a link to two external files, but when I type:
