Can I use a TRS/TRRS microphone with mobile device while utilizing built-in speakers?

I recently purchased a Lavier Go Mic, but my microphone takes over my speakers whenever it is plugged in. The microphone on my mobile device is very poor and I had hoped the microphone may help with this issue. Can I utilize my internal speakers while utilizing a TRS/TRSS microphone ?
