I bought two Android tablets which supposedly came with Android 12, 16GB of memory, and 1TB of storage. Unfortunately, when I started adding apps and videos, it soon ran out of space. I followed a solution on the forum, installed F-Droid, Termux, and ran it, which informed me that the tablets are Android 8, 16GB RAM, and 32GB of storage. Is there any way I can de-fake them and show the correct attributes?

I've been asked if I can check some faulty behavior of a device, a cheap Chinese android smartphone. I'm not really an android expert, usually I install a few apps to help me figure out few things about the device. These apps I've reported conflicting results compared to what was displayed in the main android settings area: - With DiskUsage internal memory is reported as 3.9gb vs 16gb in system settings. - Device Info HW (suggested by @alecxs) explicitly mark as fake the reported version 9.0, pointing Android 6 as correct with API level 23. Unfortunately the app reports the same storage size of 16gb as stated in system settings. Following another intuition of @alecxs, inspecting the partitions tab and looking at the displayed partitions sizes, it's possible to detect yet another forged spec. The total reported partitions size is around 8gb, the userdata partition is around 4gb which is corresponding to DiskUsage report. In my previous attempt I've CPU Info . This kinda reminds me of fake USB thumb drives scams with less memory than advertised. So is there a way (preferably without root) to test/analyze common technical details of a device for possible tampering/spoofing? Like - Storage - Android version - RAM - CPU - Something else that can be faked? I recently got fed up with my previous smartphone (name omitted) and I'm considering switching to an Android-based phone. However, I have been stumped by the sheer number of handsets. I'm more than willing to change carriers and I have no preferences in keyboard style. What I am looking for (and cannot find on Google) is a comparison of features between different Android phones so that I can make an educated decision (or at least whittle that decision down).

I was using the Droid Hardware Info app for Android and I checked the "camera" tab, and surprisingly for my Redmi Note 10 Pro, it only showed a **12MP**. According to the specs, Redmi Note 10 Pro should have a **108MP** camera. Is this app giving me the wrong information or did the camera manufacturer put 12 instead of 108 or something? Could someone tell me what's happening? EDIT: I am wondering if 108MP is the actual physical resolution of the camera?

The title is pretty much self-explanatory: is Android a 32- or 64- bit OS? I assume that it is one or another and not both, as that would force both 32- and 64-bit binaries to be hosted on Google Play. I know that this is a simple question, and that other people have been asking it, but for the life of me I have not been able to find an answer on the web, and there is certainly not one on this SE.

I have data that looks like this: Linux; U; Android 5.0.1; SAMSUNG-SM-N910A Build/LRX22C Linux; U; Android 4.3; SAMSUNG-SM-G900A Build/JSS15J Linux; Android 6.0.1; SM-G900P Build/LRX22C and I would like to attach characteristics to these devices, to do an equity study of student data. I can kind of know how old the phone is based on the OS used, but I would like to know more (how do I judge that a phone is "good" to help a student study). Is there an open data base that can be queried automatically? What other knowledge can I get from these data?
