I just switched almost all of my computers over to CachyOS, but I have a big issue now. AnyDesk isn't working. It worked perfectly before. I'm able to connect to other computers that are running SteamOS, Windows 10 and Windows 11, but can't connect to any of my own CachyOS computers from my own computers. I am however able to connect from CachyOS to my other computers. I keep getting this popup: AnyDesk: Remote display server is not supported (e.g. Wayland) --- I searched a bit and it seems like some people on Ubuntu are having the same issue by looking at this question . The answers there aren't very helpful though. As an example, I don't even have that gdm3 directory. So therefor I can't find this file: /etc/gdm3/custom.conf.

I’m facing an issue with AnyDesk on a Debian server running MATE. AnyDesk fails to work after a hard shutdown (e.g., power loss) unless I manually log in to the desktop environment (even with a monitor connected). Details: AnyDesk is configured to start on boot and works fine after normal reboots. However, after a hard shutdown: The service is active (sudo systemctl status anydesk). Connections fail until I log in locally (entering the user password) and open AnyDesk manually. I’ve disabled “vigilant access,” so remote connections shouldn’t require manual authorization, but this seems to make no difference. I suspect that AnyDesk or a dependency (e.g., Xorg, the graphical environment, or user session initialization) isn’t fully starting until a user logs in. What I’ve Tried: Enabled and verified the AnyDesk and lightdm services. Set up a virtual display (Xvfb) to simulate a monitor. Ensured network and DNS services are active on boot. Goal: Ensure AnyDesk works immediately on boot (without requiring a local login) even after a power loss. What additional steps can I take to debug or resolve this issue? Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

I want to connect to a remote machine using SSH. Unfortunately, it seems that the SSH ports are closed. I found the following solution, but it is not convincing and relies on commercial software (Anydesk). The remote machine does not have a monitor or dummy HDMI. I can connect to this remote machine via Anydesk, but I can only see a black screen. I then create a TCP tunnel as shown in the figure below. enter image description here While Anydesk is running, I can connect to the remote machine via SSH using the following command line: ssh -p 2223 user@127.0.0.1 I want to achieve this without depending on any commercial software. Do you have any ideas on how I can connect via SSH?
