How to set up keyboard layout in GRUB2 Shell with sabayon
I have an Italian keyboard and I want to set up the correct layout in GRUB shell. I found many tutorials online that make use of `grub-kbdcomp` or `grub-mklayout`, but those commands don't work on my distribution. How can I set the proper layout?

This question I would think would be far easier to answer by means of Googling it as it is so simple, but alas I am left to ask it here. What I would like to do is to remove launchers I no longer have need for on the KDE 4 panel in Sabayon. Screenshot from Sabayon 1507 Here's a screenshot, down the bottom left you will see icons (which represent launchers) for Google Chrome, Terminator and Konsole, in that order. I would like to remove the Konsole launcher. The only solution I have managed to find on my own is removing the entire panel, creating a new panel and then adding the launchers I want and leaving out the launchers I don't want. As my list of launchers continues to grow this solution will only get more and more tedious with time, hence why I would prefer a simpler solution if anyone has one. The most natural solution to me would be to right-click on the unwanted launcher and find an option to remove the launcher, but this is the menu I get from right-clicking the Konsole launcher: enter image description here Clicking "Icon Settings" just gives me this: enter image description here which is just the options for the desktop configuration file used for the Konsole launcher and to my knowledge has nothing to do with removing the launcher from the KDE panel.

I would like to create an ISO file (which can be used to create a live CD or USB or as a primary controller for a VirtualBox machine) for a customized version of Sabayon Linux I have created on a VirtualBox Virtual Machine (VM), but I do not know how. This customized version of Sabayon is based on Sabayon SpinBase (which is the version of Sabayon specifically designed for creating new spins of Sabayon) and uses the Moksha window manager as its default desktop environment. My host machine, if relevant, (as I imagine creating an ISO will require me to install some extra software) is Sabayon Linux too. My Linux knowledge is that of a novice-intermediate user, so please phrase your answer accordingly (like avoid using phrases that only an experienced Linux user is likely to understand).

I've downloaded and installed sabayon, but all I can find to verify that iso image is an md5sum that can only be downloaded from the same insecure mirrors. - md5 checksums are not cryptographically secure -- that should be at least sha256. - the mirrors to download that checksum from use only insecure protocols (http, ftp, rsync), therefore can not be trusted. - I can't find anything about security issues on Google (at least while I'm running sabayon). Is this distribution designed to pleasure hackers and supported by the NSA? (or am I paranoid?) - would it be secure to install sabayon via gentoo-overlay? (or is there a similar but secure gentoo-based distro out there?)

But if I start a youtube video and put it in full screen, I get horrible performance -- even several seconds of freeze. Also, running e.g. wesnoth is quite slow. I am trying to get networking to work on Sabayon X KDE Edition. I have configured wireless networking using the NetworkManager applet and networking looks OK. However, I can't connect to the Internet, I cannot ping my gateway and I cannot even ping localhost. I have never seen this behaviour on Linux. I am using a manually-configured kernel because I have to boot using UEFI. If you suspect any specific Kernel options, I can check them against the config. Also, networking worked fine in the Sabayon live environment. The first tutorial says to install dev-db/mysql and then execute sudo /usr/bin/mysql_install_db –basedir=/usr but an error saying the command was not found appears. I found out that the command above is an script located at usr/share/mysql/scrips. I have executed it, trillions of messages appeared but now I cannot start mysql or mariadb. The error is >unable to execute /etc/init.d/mysql: No such file or directory but listing /usr/init.d shows me mysql. What to do?

I want to copy all the text from first terminal, with some utility from graphics mode. fbgrab -c 1 ~/image.png saves an image, but in my case it is a transparent rectangle. There is no ebuild for fbdump, so I can't check it. And actually I want some paste (as with wgetpaste -s gists), not a picture. OS is Sabayon Linux with MATE DE on AMD GPU I need this because my chrome browser starts to execute some js, and hangs the system (mouse cursor freezes), then there is a message in virtual terminal about crash in chrome plugin. I want to paste that message, but don't know how to do this.

I would like to compile and then install [Hawaii](http://hawaii-desktop.github.io/) from source code, but I am stuck at the compiling [GreenIsland](https://github.com/greenisland/greenisland) (a dependency of Hawaii) from source code stage. I created a build subdirectory of the source code directory with mkdir build and ran: cmake .. -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/usr but this gave the error: CMake Error at /usr/lib64/cmake/Qt5/Qt5Config.cmake:26 (find_package): Could not find a package configuration file provided by "Qt5Compositor" with any of the following names: Qt5CompositorConfig.cmake qt5compositor-config.cmake Add the installation prefix of "Qt5Compositor" to CMAKE_PREFIX_PATH or set "Qt5Compositor_DIR" to a directory containing one of the above files. If "Qt5Compositor" provides a separate development package or SDK, be sure it has been installed. Call Stack (most recent call first): CMakeLists.txt:60 (find_package) -- Configuring incomplete, errors occurred! See also "/home/fusion809/Programs/Hawaii/greenisland-0.6.0/build/CMakeFiles/CMakeOutput.log". [here](http://pastebin.com/suGdNKkE) is my log file (/home/fusion809/Programs/Hawaii/greenisland-0.6.0/build/CMakeFiles/CMakeOutput.log). I interpret this error to mean I am missing Qt5CompositorConfig.cmake from my system. What Portage ebuild do I need to merge to get this library? If relevant I am working on Sabayon Linux.

https://bugs.sabayon.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4941 I don't understand, how sabayon's initrd image is created. (I am just installing that system for the first time!). When I am trying parameters from instruction https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Multiboot_USB_drive#Sabayon I receive errors about unability to use aufs. How the parameter isoboot= is implemented in Sabayon? How it supposed to work in details? Which program in initrd performs iso mounting? How squashfs is named and how initrd is supposed to find it? What happened to aufs, was it replaced with overlayfs? UPD: Sabayon uses genkernel-next, here is it's parameters description: https://github.com/Sabayon/genkernel-next/blob/master/doc/genkernel.8.txt#L387
