XFCE way to view open windows like macOS Exposé, GNOME Activities

I want a button in XFCE to show me open windows (minimized and maximized) like
* *Exposé* (later *Mission Control*) on macOS
* *Activities* in GNOME or
* *Task View* in Windows 10.
I found some tools like *Xfdashboard* and *Skippy-xd*, but they need compiling from source and I get errors from compiling them, and I am new to Linux.
Now I use the *compiz* scale. It is good actually, but it only shows maximized windows. It doesn't show minimized windows and the shift switcher compiz has two modes, "cover" and "flip". Both of them aren't my interests. I want them to show like a grid.
Finally, I want to say the Activities button is needed for fast switching windows and productivity.
My Linux is MX Linux 21_x64 wildflower Xfce-desktop.
I have only 4GB of RAM, Gnome and Ubuntu use too much memory. That's why I use Xfce and this is what I want a button to open running applications like these:

It appears my icons are appearing below my screen. This is part of a screenshot, but I cannot see it on my monitor:
-------------------------------------------------
I am running Linux Mint 16 Cinnamon.
I changed the size of my panel, and now my desktop icons overflow to underneath the panel. How can I prevent this from happening?
I want to be able to auto-sort it without it returning to being hidden.

Terminal command execution from panel
Opening terminal, entering command, hitting enter, works fine. Can we optimize, get rid of that first step: Rather than opening a terminal, can commands be entered directly into a panel, via some single-line terminal widget (on Debian/Mate)?

I am trying to create a script that launches tmux with a specific pane layout and size. I am following the tutorial in the following link:
https://leanpub.com/the-tao-of-tmux/read#pane-resizing
However when I try to use
tmux split-window -p 75
it's more like a 40%/60% split. I've also tried tmux split-window -p 90
to see if I could get a bigger, and more evident, difference in size between the two panes but it doesn't change much.
These is the code that I am using:
#!/bin/sh
tmux new -s abc -d
tmux split-window -p 90
tmux attach -t abc
I know how to create the layout that I want but my problem is getting the pane sizes that I need.

I recently installed Arch Linux with the XFCE desktop environment. NetworkManager used to work, but now, every time I start my laptop, it fails to connect to Wi-Fi and appears to be stopped. Running systemctl status NetworkManager shows that it is not active. Attempting to start it manually results in the following error:
Job for NetworkManager.service failed because the control process exited with error code.
See "systemctl status NetworkManager.service" and "journalctl -xeu NetworkManager.service" for details.
Checking the logs with journalctl -xeu NetworkManager.service reveals this error:
bus-manager: fatal failure to acquire D-Bus service "org.freedesktop.NetworkManager". Service already taken
It seems like NetworkManager is unable to acquire the DBus service, possibly due to another process holding it. When I try restarting dbus, NetworkManager starts successfully, but this disrupts my XFCE session—specifically, the panel disappears, and I start experiencing various UI bugs.
What I’ve Tried
1. Restarting dbus and NetworkManager, but this leads to the panel disappearing.
2. Checking for existing NetworkManager processes and killing any duplicates.
3. Reviewing journalctl logs to understand why NetworkManager can’t acquire the DBus service.
4. Restarting the XFCE panel with xfce4-panel &, which temporarily restores it but doesn’t address the root problem.

OS: Arch Linux
Desktop Environment: XFCE

I use multiple keyboard layouts. On my taskbar, I see two distinct keyboard layout indicators, which identify themselves as:
* iBus 1.5.30 "IBus is an intelligent input bus for Linux/Unix."
* Keyboard (keyboard@cinnamon.org) "Keyboard Layout"
When I press the layout switch key combination, it's the Cinnamon indicator which changes; and that is ok with me. What I want is to make the iBus indicator go away and not confuse me.
Can I do this (hopefully without hurting other usage scenario, like logging in to a different desktop environment)?

After seeing how many custom status bar implementations like Polybar seem to use some existing widget for displaying system tray icons I'm not too hopeful with this but would it be possible to get the metadata (icon, software name etc.), which is displayed normally in desktop environment's panel's system tray, programmatically via either some API or command line command?
Since the tray itself seems to get this info from somewhere I figured it should be possible but I don't know where to look into. I checked the XFCE sys-tray's source briefly but didn't figure it just yet since I have no experience with GTK apis. Looked like it uses some socket api.
I'd like to display system tray icons but stylize them and position them with more freedom than the system tray widget(?) allows.
If it matters, in my case I'm using XFCE desktop environment on Manjaro.

I'm using Devuan Daedalus, with the Cinnamon desktop environment, v5.6.7.
I've installed an app to
/foo/myapp
on my system, and have even created a start menu entry for it via the menu editor.
Now, I would like to have the icon/button for this app pinned to my panel - like I can do for many other apps (e.g. Firefox, Nemo, Quassel etc.), with right-click menu on the running app's panel button. Unfortunately - I don't get this option on the right-click menu for my new app.
Why is the 'pin to panel' menu entry missing? Is there something I need to do to "bless" this application so that I may pin it?

I want to run the Midori browser to see only a web page without the gtk title bar of the browser.
For example I run midori with this command:
$ midori -a https://unix.stackexchange.com/
If I set
no
in openbox rc.xml, the title bar of Midori is shown anyway.
So I am searching a way to not whow the title bar of the gtk application.
A possible solution is to start Midori in fullscreen mode whit this command:
$ midori -a https://unix.stackexchange.com/ -e Fullscreen
but in this case the tint2 panel is covered by the fullscreen window.
There is a way to limit the area for the fullscreen window in Openbox?
I tried with margin option in rc.xml, but this doesn't work with fullscreen windows.

I'm using Linux Mint 18.1 (Serena) and I would like to add a new taskbar/panel, to use and track the windows in the second monitor.
All of the solutions I have read say to
- Right click the existing panel
- Click on
Add New Panel
.
- Right click the new panel
- Click Properties
, then unmark Expand
.
- Drag the panel to the second monitor.
This last step is the problem for me, since Mint won't let me drag the panel outside of the bounds of the first monitor.
Any help would be appreciated.
