Quickly connecting to Wi-Fi with Android

I'm having Android Froyo (2.2), in Archos 32. The only way I found for connecting to a Wi-Fi wireless network is through Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> Wi-Fi Settings -> "Wi-Fi networks" list Very cumbersome!
