I am using Android Nougat, but there are no options for GPS in the locations menus (just battery saving >> wifi, bluetooth and cellular network only) Other GPS apps do not even detect the chip in the first place... why?

Bluetooth GPS compatibility list for Android 2.2 / Archos 43 tablet?
I've been looking at a very inexpensive bluetooth GPS ([DeLorme Earthmate BT-20][1]) to pair with my Archos 43 Internet Tablet running Android 2.2. I've been looking at a very inexpensive bluetooth GPS (DeLorme Earthmate BT-20 ) to pair with my Archos 43 Internet Tablet running Android 2.2. Is anyone aware of a compatibility list that I should be referencing when considering pairing my device with a bluetooth GPS? I assume that the Android app will be used to reference maps, and the GPS will simply provide coordinates, but I may be mistaken.

Some time ago I installed a custom firmware (YAR28 ) on my Archos 7HT. This worked fine for a while, until some day when I switched it on it showed the initial startup screen, and after that all my installed apps were gone. So I re-installed the stock firmware from Archos. But then I found out I could no longer access the sd-card. It was not mounted when I inserted it. But when I connected the device to my PC using USB it did show up as drive F: and G:. I could access F:, which was obviously my sd-card, but G: (which should be the internal flash) could not be accessed, and Windows even asked if this should be formatted. When I open the Files on my tablet, and select 'SD Card' it gives the 'SD card is unmounted' error. And when I select 'Internal Memory' it is completely empty. So it looks like the file system is still working, but the internal flash part somehow is no longer accessible. I have a feeling that some low level setting has changed and that I could somehow solve it if I could get access to the underlying Linux system, but I do not have a clue how to proceed.

I own an Archos 43 Internet Tablet running Android 2.2, and I am looking either for an application or configuration option to allow using the headphone out port (if it is plugged in) for the alarm in an alarm clock app. I'd like to hook my Android device to external speakers in order to make the alarm louder than the device's internal speaker is capable of reaching. The ability to use the math alarm option would be nice, as well. I've tried the integrated alarm clock, as well as the free version of "Alarm Clock Plus". Neither of them seem to output the sound to the headphone port in their current configurations. I am not opposed to spending money if I know that it will work as a viable solution. Any feedback or solutions?

I have an unrooted Archos 70IT with the market add-on app and there's a number of apps that I can find in the Market on my Droid but not on my Archos. They are likely "protected apps" which can only be installed on devices approved by the apps dev. To get around this I just download them to my Droid, save to Dropbox then install on my Archos. These apps work just fine, so rather than be "protected" from "incompatible" apps and having to do backflips to get the apps I want, I'd like to trick the Market into thinking I'm on a Droid or some other ubiquitous Android device. Is there anyway of doing this a) at all, and b) on an unrooted device? If so, how?

When I record videos with the rear-facing camera on my Archos 43 Internet Tablet, I am able to watch those recordings on my device, but when I attempt to upload them to online video sharing sites like youtube or blip.tv, they aren't properly recognized or converted. Likewise, when I transfer them to my computer, I can't play the video file correctly. If I transfer the file back to my device, it plays just fine. I know that the device produces *.mp4 video files. How can I convert these (corrupted?) videos so that I can see them on my computer and upload them to video sharing sites? Thanks.

I'm looking to send directions from my PC to my Archos 43 that is paired up with a Bluetooth GPS. Thanks!
