iPhone Podcasts app crashes when Low Power Mode deactivates

The Apple Podcasts app for iPhone is one of the buggiest pieces of software I've ever used. It crashes frequently, often failing to remember the last played content (instead it brings up something much older), so I can't easily resume listening.
Of all the bugs, there is one that occurs predictably: The deactivation of Low Power Mode causes the app to crash. So when the iPhone is plugged in and charging, there will come a point when an 80% charge is reached, triggering the deactivation of Low Power Mode, and in turn a crash of the Podcasts app.
The correlation is clear due to the notification:
> **Low Power Mode turned off**
>
> Battery sufficiently charged.
Having Low Power Mode enabled improves the app's performance, in the sense that crashes occur less frequently. But when charging it's only a matter of time before 80% is reached. Freeing up storage space also reduces the frequency of crashes, but does not prevent crashes triggered by the Low Power Mode bug.
I am wondering:
- Have others experienced this with Podcasts or other apps?
- Is there a way to prevent Low Power Mode from automatically deactivating?

I can ask Siri "Play podcast X" It then plays the lasted unlistened podcast from the series X.
However it does not mark it as played so when next time I ask Siri to "Play podcast X" it plays the same podcast.
If I listen to the podcast from my iPad or just mark it as listened to then on the Homepod it will play the unlistened episode
How do I get Hopepod to mark the episode as played?

Recently I have observed the Podcasts app *opening* unexpectedly on my mac, roughly once a month but with no pattern I've been able to identify. This interrupts me from doing what I actually want to do, so I want to prevent the app from opening. As I do all my podcast listening through my phone, I would be happy to delete the app from my mac, though this appears to not be possible — there no "Move to Bin" option in the contextual menu for most of the pre-installed Apple apps, and the
File > Delete Immediately
menu item is disabled.
Given my goal is to stop being interrupted, any suggestions why might the app be opening without any apparent action on my part, *or* how can I delete the app from my mac?
- Preferences > Users & Groups > (me) > Login items
is empty
- Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts
does not list any keyboard shortcuts associated with Podcasts.app
- MacOS 11.6 (20G165)
- Podcast.app 1.1.0 (1575.1.2)

Furthermore, when I bring up the iOS Podcast App from my iPhone using Handoff and click on it on my Mac, I get an error message “Podcast not Available You are not following [some random date] on this device". I am signed in on the same iCloud account and all software is up to date. Everything else on iCloud seems to sync fine. Can anyone shed some light on this?

I’ve discovered that I can still dequeue an episode by marking it is played, but that conflates played and unplayed episodes.
I’m happy to learn a new a paradigm for organizing podcasts but I can’t figure out what Apple wants me to do here.

I have both a Mac (macOS Catalina) and an iPhone (iOS 13.5.1). When I find a podcast in the Apple Podcasts directory I'd like to be able to subscribe to that podcast in any RSS reader, which requires having the RSS URL. Since, not all "podcatchers" have complete/up-to-date directories, having the URL of the actual feed would make it easy to subscribe to any particular podcast.
Given that having an RSS feed is a requirement for a podcast being listed in the Apple Podcasts directory, there must be some way to find the RSS URL.

Moving podcasts from Catalina podcasts app to music?

I subscribe to a set of podcasts in which each "episode" is a song. I want to convert the episodes into songs in my music library. Prior to Catalina, this was [straightforward](https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6050904) . I'd edit the podcasts to change the "media kind" from podcast to music, then edit a couple other metadata fields.
Now with Catalina, iTunes has been split into separate music and podcasts apps. I can start the podcasts app and select a "show" to see the episodes for a podcast. From there, the first thing I tried was to drag several episodes into the music app.
First of all, dragging more than about ten episodes at once causes the podcasts app to crash. I suppose that's a bug which Apple will eventually fix.
Dragging a small number of episodes into the music app does indeed import the file into music. But absolutely none of the metadata for the episode is retained. The only metadata field which is filled in is the song title, which is set from the filename including the ".mp3" extension:
Does anyone know of a practical way to save podcast episodes as music on Catalina, preserving the information about the episode which was provided by the publisher?
Edit: Actually, importing into the music app didn't work at all. the Music app recorded the file's location as ".../iTunes%20Music/Podcasts/KEXP%20Song%20of%20the%20Day/Squid%20-%20Match%20Bet.mp3", i.e. the location of the podcast app's copy of the file. And the music app seems to think the song is zero length for some reason.

At some point in the podcast the playing stops. In the "progress view" at the bottom of the app the podcast logo and times disappear and it says "Not Playing". Looks like the app can't decode a specific part of the compressed audio. You can skip the bad part.
Podcast author says he had a few people telling him about the issue, but he didn't change anything in his production process. Is this a know bug in iOS 13? Were there changes in the file formats supported by the Podcasts app?
