Assume he can not set it up as described above. I live 6+ hours away and unable to do the drive. Is there a way to remotely configure the Apple Watch?
The alternative is to ship his phone to me and I configure it at my home. ANY lessons learned to advance the mission is appreciated.

Is there any way to force this suggestion to happen? My devices are a Series 3 Apple Watch and an iPhone X both on the most recent, public iOS and watchOS releases. I have Allow Notifications and Suggest on Lock Screen selected in the settings tab in Apple Wallet.

For example, I want to create the following custom training:
1. push ups x 30
2. squats x 30
3. pull ups x 15
I want to be able to start my workout where it will first tell me I should do 30 pushups. once finished, I click some button that moves me to squats.
Is a custom app needed for this fitness task?

Most messages work with a notification on the watch and then I can read in Messages on my phone or Mac.
However there are some messages that only appear as notifications on the watch and do not appear at all on the iPhone or any other device.
How do I read these messages - and keep them as the notification just disappears on the watch?
I think all these hidden and self deleting messages are SPAM.

I'd like to be able to view my apple watch Activity data on my mac desktop or laptop.
So for example, workouts, steps, etc, today, and for the last week, much like what I can find in the Activity app on the apple watch.
I've logged into iCloud.com to see if it was there, but it's not, and I looked for an Activity app on my mac desktop, but don't see one. I've also googled this a bunch, and [found this suggested answer - not supported - on Apple's communities site](https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7867231#:~:text=Apple%20does%20not%20currently%20offer,Apple%20Watch%20on%20your%20Mac.) , but would love to find a third party solution to do this, if one exists.
Is there anyway I can see some of my personal health data secured in the health app on my Mac?

I've grown accustomed to the convenience of being able to unlock my MacBook Pro with my Apple Watch, but I just got a new Mac Mini, and no matter what I do, it is not unlocking it for me.
I have checked "Use your Apple Watch to unlock apps and your Mac" in System Preferences → Security & Privacy → General. And I am able to use my watch to unlock (e.g.) settings in the Privacy tab of that same System Preferences pane, like Accessibility settings. I just *can't* unlock the computer itself.
What could be wrong? Why would this work on one computer and fail on another (newer) one?

I thought I would try and get it off the watch itself in settings, but I can’t pair it to my iPhone 11 (running iOS 14.1). Every time I try to pair, my iPhone tells me I need to have the latest version of iOS on my iPhone. Which I have.
Is there any way I can get the serial number without pairing?
Or is there a way to help me pair it to get the number?

The Apple Watch functionality has improved over time. An iPhone used to need to be left on and connected for Cellular to work on the Watch.
I was under the impression that with advances in eSim and Software Updates the watch could now make and receive calls without any dependence on the iPhone, except perhaps for the occasional software update).
Recently I learned that with AT&T that NumberSync is necessary and call do not ring on cellular unless the iPhone is left on and connected to the internet.
What is the current state of cellular connectivity on Apple Watch? According to Apple.com Cellular allows you to leave your phone behind and just use the Watch, but does the phone need to be online somewhere?

I have the activated the "Show Summary When Locked" option on my Apple Watch. When I receive a notification, the app icon, title, and a brief summary appears onscreen when my wrist is down, and a more detailed notification appears if I tap on the screen or raise my wrist.
Sometimes, this brief summary remains present on my wrist for extended periods of time (what seems like at least a couple of minutes). This prevents me from reading the time without raising my wrist and dismissing the notification— a bother when, say, in a meeting.
Is it possible to reduce the amount of time this summary is displayed onscreen? Much to my surprise, I'm unable to find any such options in Settings, nor can I find any similar questions anywhere else online.

I am trying to create a Shortcut that sets a timer based on an input and then retrieve the duration of the timer using the Get Current Timer action (see image below). However, it appears that the Get Current Timer action does not have the intended result in WatchOS. When I set the timer to 5 minutes, the notification indicates 0s. The Apple Watch is on WatchOS 10.1.1.
The same Shortcut works as intended on the iPhone, and the notification indicates 300s.

I often forget to stop my "Workout" that is running on my watch. I'd like an automation something like:
if workout is running AND
in the area of the gym (Geofence) AND
iPhone connects to my car (Bluetooth) THEN

This is partly a "is this even possible" type question because the Shortcut (I assume) will be running on my phone while the workout is running on my watch.

I have over 600 of voice memos on iPhone 2020 SE (actually recorded on Apple Watch) ranging from a few seconds to a couple of minutes. How do I batch move them to a Linux PC, having the date of recording info without the woes of manually ticking 600 files? I've tried just selecting them and sending to Dropbox, but that is painfully unreliable:
* Dropbox does not synchronize more than 10 files at once,
* few out of those 10 are just left behind and unsynchronized by Dropbox,
* the date of recording is lost when copying files this way.
**UPD** Using answers from How can I transfer large files from Linux to iPad over a cable or wifi? didn't help:
*
ideviceinfo
keeps saying "ERROR: No device found!"
* Using third-party file managers is futile since they can't "see" the recording files, those are considered some other kind of files by iOS for some reason.
* FileMaster app actually can share the files "sent" to it, but then again, I'd have to tick 600 hundred files to send the files into FileMaster and then click 600 hundred times in its web UI to download the files. My question is focused on **batch** aspect of transferring.

(I need Lockdown Mode to disable 2G on the Apple Watch since my Apple devices are apparently being attacked with an SMS Blaster (downgrade to 2G) attack as described at https://security.googleblog.com/2024/08/keeping-your-android-device-safe-from.html and paired with some other exploit to take over all the Apple devices on my network.)

The March Challenge in the iOS Activity app is making no sense. At the beginning of the month it started out telling me I needed 719 Calories a day. And my average at the start of the month was:
(Never mind the fact that I'm in Australia and my local setting is kilojoules, and that it should localise like every other app in the world does. Has no trouble showing me activity in kilojoules but the challenge can't show kilojoules?)
Obviously that figure is wrong. First mysterious number right there. 20,263 kilojoules, would that even be possible?
I decided I wanted to get this badge so I converted the required daily average (719 calories) to kilojoules and got 3008.3. So I set the daily move goal to 3000 and planned to exceed it. And I have been, getting to around 4500 a day. So if I exceed the daily average goal the calculated average should be trending UP, right?
Not so. Now it tells me I am under the daily required average (today it reports 699) and the figure is trending down though I am still exceeding it by 50% a day and have been well above it all month.
Possible explanations I have considered....
- the USA uses a different kind of calories from the rest of the world
and my conversion of cal-kj is wrong (seems ridiculous but U.S.
gallons are different to imperial gallons)
- this challenge is as broken as February's
- the decreasing daily figure shown is how much I would need to every day of the rest of the month? But then the ridiculously high figure
from the start of the month makes no sense. -
So can anyone explain this?
