I'd like to try playing League of Legends on Fedora. To do so, I installed Lutris, Wine and Winetricks. I installed LoL from the Lutris packages . During the installation, the installer tells me that Directx9 is not found and necessary to run the game: After a long search on the Internet, the solution would be to use Winetricks and install the library, however it doesn't work, it seems to be obsolete: It suggests me to install instead each component individually, which I tried to do (still with Winetricks) by installing all the dlls related to Directx9, but it doesn't change anything, some of these libs are also obsolete. How to install Directx9 under Fedora, for Wine, in order to play to League of Legends?

I never play video games and to be fully honest am uncertain what this means. What can I do to verify DirectX is installed? How do I install it? My installation was made utilizing the Flathub version of Steam . Thank you so much for any help you can provide. _________________________________

I'm trying to run a Windows app (Artemis video game - server mode) on my archlinux server. As it is an windows application I have to run it using Wine. As I'd like to be able to launch the server from anywhere, I'd like to do it using ssh -X (unfortunatelly this app can only be configured and launched on GUI mode) I manage to launch wine Artemis.exe on both my laptop (local install) and my server, however launching it using ssh -X gives me an error : I'd like to poitn out that ssh -X works fine between those two. I managed to launch "wine notepad" using ssh -X ! It seams to come down to directX, which I don't really know about. I tried installing directX9 through winetricks on both the laptop and the server. Did anyone face this before ? Have you got any solution for me to try ?

I have installed DirectX on Wine and used winetricks to have better graphics in my games. Although it doesn't work! When I want to run GTA: San Andreas it shows that I have to download and install DirectX. In other games, exactly nothing happens. I do not know what the matter is. Please help me in my case. My OS is Debian Jessie, Wine version - 1.6.2.

I am trying to install an application in Wine. The program will only work on Windows 95, so I set this option in winecfg. But when I run the installer, it checks if DirectX 3.0 is installed, and however it does that checking causes Wine to crash. Can I prevent the application from doing this check?

I am currently trying to make South Park: Stick of Truth work on Debian Wheezy (64 bit). Currently, upon launching the game, the game locks whatever workspace I'm on and I have to use xkill to stop it running. I have reason to believe that the error is related to directx and upon trying to figure the software by running wine ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/system32/dxdiag.exe I receive an error: ERROR: DXDIAGN.DLL IS OUT OF DATE Is there anyone out there who can help me?
