I'm running Garuda linux on my desktop and my computer has 2 HDMI ports and one of those comes from the NVIDIA 2070 super. The regular HDMI works all the time with no issues but the nvidia one just seems to stop working with no errors or anything.
If the cable is plugged in on boot it will work if I'm in BIOS but after that the screen is frozen on the
welcome to grub
screen.
I'm guessing this is a problem with my nvidia drivers. How do I trouble shoot?

I'd like to add the Garuda look & feel for KDE (https://garudalinux.org/downloads.html ) to my system. Unfortunately, it appears Garuda is an entire distro.
I would appreciate help on how I can include Garuda look & feel to my Arch Linux.

I've been going down the i3wm road of pain and can't for the life of me understand how to change the output device with cli commands.
Setup:
* Using i3-gaps (Base Distro is Garuda Linux)
* pipewire is the audio provider
* When using pavucontrol I can switch between my Headphones and Speakers as the output port but can't seem to figure what is changing in the background with pactl, wpctl, aplay
* I have headphones connected to my front aux panel and speakers connected to the rear aux panel.
Any help would be appreciated :)
Update: Found a solution and posted it in the comments

Whenever I am trying to start a gnome applications (like calculator, Files, event gnome-control-center), I get the following error:
gnome-control-center: error while loading shared libraries: libappstream.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
After further research, It appeared that I don't have libappstream.so.4
in /usr/lib/
, yet I do not find online any way to install this specific version of appstream on arch.

I booted Garuda Linux Gnome , an Arch based Linux distro from ventoy , after which I went into Gparted to delete the previous root and efi partitions from the previous installation.
To my surprise, I saw that the root btrfs partition was mounted at var/lib/os-prober/mount automatically at boot .
A few Google searches reveal os-prober to be something related to grub and boot entries.
I don't know what caused this unexpected behaviour.
Any thoughts ?
Is this a big issue?

Can I use an LMDE-Mint live USB to repair my installed Garuda distro?
I broke my Garuda install after updating, and after restoring a snapshot it still won't boot, which, as I understand, is a result of the snapshot using a previous version of the bootloader. I want to use a live USB to chroot and reinstall my bootloader, but my live Garuda is long gone and all I have lying around is LMDE Mint.
Is this still possible, even though they are based on different distros, or do I have to recreate a Garuda USB stick?

I'm using Garuda Linux with Gnome and I recently switched to X11 because I like to share my screen and play games, and wayland comes short specifically on that. I know Gnome isn't supposed to be used for gaming, but I genuinely liked the workflow it provides when I'm coding.
My problem here is that on wayland, I can simply hold Super and scroll to switch to another workspace. That doesn't work with X11. I have installed x11 gestures that provide me gestures for my touchpad but I'd rather use my mouse when I'm at home.
Anyone knows why kb + mouse shortcut combinations don't work on X11, and how I can fix it?

I had a dual-boot setup with Windows 11 and Garuda Linux Dr460nized version previously. Windows bootloader and Garuda's grub were installed on the same EFI partition. So when I was doing a clean reinstall by cleaning everything except for the Garuda Linux root partition, I also deleted the EFI partition where Garuda's GRUB was installed. I thought I could reinstall GRUB in case anything goes wrong through the Garuda live boot repair tool which usually worked in cases of boot override by Windows (but this time it didn't work at all).
After deleting the previous EFI partition, I created a new EFI partition of filesystem FAT32 with flags boot and esp. My Garuda's root folder is still there and hopefully, the data is all safe. But how could I reinstall Grub for my Linux in that EFI partition? I attempted to reinstall GRUB using Garuda's live boot repair tool but it didn't work saying couldn't mount /boot/efi. Does that boot repair tool only work when there is grub installed previously?
Anyway, guys, I need your help here. I want to install Grub to the EFI partition so that I can access my Linux and its data. How can I do that? Is there a way by using Garuda's live iso? I tried to search for this but there weren't proper instructions for my specific scenario and there were some commands like chroot, mount, etc. which I couldn't really follow properly due to different contexts. So please help me get back my Garuda Linux. Thank you!

I am trying to install [Linux Brew](https://brew.sh) on [Garuda Linux](https://garudalinux.org) (Arch Linux based distro) but the install script fails with the following error:
==> Pouring portable-ruby-2.6.8.x86_64_linux.bottle.tar.gz
Error: Failed to install ruby 2.6.8!
Error: Failed to install Homebrew Portable Ruby and cannot find another Ruby 2.6.8!
If there's no Homebrew Portable Ruby available for your processor:
- install Ruby 2.6.8 with your system package manager (or rbenv/ruby-build)
- make it first in your PATH
- try again
Failed during: /home/linuxbrew/.linuxbrew/bin/brew update --force --quiet
I verified that Ruby exists on the system:
➜ ruby --version
ruby 3.0.3p157 (2021-11-24 revision 3fb7d2cadc) [x86_64-linux]
Is it complaining that Brew wants a particular version? I found [one](https://arstechnica.com/civis/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=1482948) or [two](https://www.reddit.com/r/ManjaroLinux/comments/t9zs67/homebrew_help_on_new_manjaro_install/) other users who posted the same error in recent days. The latter is also an Arch-based system and got the suggestion to install
pkgconf
, which I verified is installed on my system.
➜ pkgconf --version
1.8.0
I can't seem to figure out what the problem is ... any suggestions? I am new to Arch Linux based distributions.

I've installed Garuda Linux on my machine and upgraded the system. However, after I reboot, I face a wifi connection problem : the network manager cannot detect my wifi router but only detects my phone if I set it as a mobile hotspot.
I've been searching a lot for a fix to this issue and I even reinstalled Garuda so many times but after I reboot I come to face that annoying problem again.
I've tried many solutions provided for such a problem in various websites and forums and none of them did work :
1) restarting the network manager with `
sudo systemctl restart NetworkManager
`
2) disabling wifi powersave
3) adding 2 lines as following to /etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf
:
~~~
[device]
wifi.scan-rand-mac-address=no
~~~
4) adding 2 lines as following to /etc/NetworkManager/conf.d/nm.conf
:
~~~
[device]
wifi.backend=iwd
~~~
and I ran these commands :
~~~
sudo pacman -S iwd
sudo systemctl stop wpa_supplicant
sudo systemctl mask wpa_supplicant
sudo systemctl enable --now iwd.service
sudo systemctl daemon-reload
sudo systemctl start iwd.service
~~~
5) I also restarted my wifi router in vain
So what shall I do now ?
## NOTE : ##
Sometimes when trying some of the mentionned fixes, the network manager detects my wifi router but it cannot connect to it and shows : Authorization supplicant failed

So, today I decided to try out Garuda Linux. After being a little experienced with simpler Linux distros like 'Ubuntu', 'Raspbian', Mainly attracted by its looks, I decided to try out this Arch-Linux based 'Garuda Linux Dragonized'.
After dual-booting it everything seemed to work smoothly, until I ran into 3 problems:
1. Bluetooth problems on Windows 10 21H1
2. Microphone not working in Garuda
3. Time in Windows changes every time I boot back into it.\
But most importantly, I need my bluetooth connectivity issues fixed on Windows.
Any possibilities or help?\
System Specs:\
CPU - AMD Ryzen 9 5900HS\
RAM - 16GB\
SSD - 1TB nVME\
Bluetooth and Wifi Card - MediaTek.
I looked up a lot online, but none helped.
Any help is largely appreciated.
Thank you.
