i'm 50/50 sure this is a sdl1/sdl2 mismatch between kdenlive and melt (both are projects i hadn't heard of 4 hours ago) i'm using kdenlive. the two previews (clip and project) are both a dull green colour ... so ... so i guess they're not getting any data? amongst a sea of log messages, i see this gem which makes me think OpenGL or SDL isn't talking to itself ...

I am not sure whether this is causing the rendering to crash (I am not using any OpenCV tracking for instance). I couldn't find any relevant information on the other errors.

I am using kdenlive to speed up a video. Then I want to play it back, slowing it down to be as the original. It is a way to have smaller files. But the sound is all funny, even when I make the video slower. What settings should I use?

I’m having trouble with with my files in Kdenlive. I can’t find my files through Kdenlive. They just don’t show up. I have been able to load them into Kdenlive by dragging them into Kdenlive using the files function in Ubuntu. But, I can’t save the rendered file to anywhere. First problem I have is finding the file path, so that I can load it into the “Save to” option in the drop down menu from the “Render Button” in Kdenlive. The second problem is that Kdenlive can’t deal with removable media. So in looking for a solution, I found a similar problem being discussed at: **https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/591962/kdenlive-not-able-to-open-save-due-to-apparmor** In that link it suggested that I download the "portable AppImage" from the "kenlive website," which I did. The file copied and it’s sitting in my “Download File.” But the file will not open run or anything. The “Kdenlive Website” has this note: *The Appimage will work on most GNU/Linux distributions. After having downloaded the file, you have to make it executable (right click and in the permissions set “Allow executing file as program” or similar): you can then launch it by double-clicking on it. If you’re using Ubuntu or a derivative and prefer to use native packages, you can add our PPA to your repositories.* When I “Right Click” on the download file, I get the following options in the drop down Menu: Open Containing folder ( I get a message that contents can’t be displayed) Go to download page Page Copy Download Link Remove from History Clear Preview Panel I see no option to execute as a program. I am trying to open up kdenlive on an OpenSUSE system however I receive an error from the Terminal. > Failed to initialize SDL: Could not setup connection to PulseAudio When I try to open up kdenlive outside the Terminal I get the following: > "Could not create the video preview window, something wrong with your > install or driver settings". I try to drag and drop an image into the environment but it crashes and closes. Kdenlive is not starting, It shows the splash screen then closes I also tried to reinstall it and restart my PC but its still the same then, I tried to launch it from the terminal (so that I can see the error) and this was the result:

Does kdenlive have a limit regarding the workable file-size?

I've been struggling with this for a few days. - Ubuntu 18.04.4 LTS - appamor 2.12-4ubuntu5.1 My situation is similar with the above link, in that when ever I try to **open a file** in kdenlive nothing happends. The terminal shows me

When I run sudo aa-status I can see a record for snap.kdenlive.kdenlive in Enforce mode So I tried to sudo aa-complain snap.kdenlive.kdenlive . and it returns

Can't find snap.kdenlive.kdenlive in the system path list. If the name of the application
is correct, please run 'which snap.kdenlive.kdenlive' as a user with correct PATH
environment set up in order to find the fully-qualified path and
use the full path as parameter.

Next I try to verify if the profile exist in the folder . Looked in etc/apparmor.d/ folder and cannot find the profile file. There are a few other profiles which is listed in the aa-status, but cannot find in the folder. Those profiles have the same issue to complain/enforce . When trying to complain/enforce the few profiles that DOES EXIST in etc/apparmor.d it shows correctly Setting to complain mode. This leads me to believe the issue is with the appamor profiles . Any help appreciated.

I'm using Centos 7 and would like to install the latest version of Kdenlive. On their official website, they don't have a repository for Centos, but they do for Fedora which uses UnitedRPMs. So my question is, is there any way to get UnitedRPMs on Centos 7, and is it safe to do so? I'm also open to any suggestions to get Kdenlive a different way if you happen to use it on Centos 7. Any help is highly appreciated.

I am trying to use kdenlive (0.9.10) on Ubuntu 14.04 to create a simple music-mix clip (for youtube). This clip has a total length of about 90 minutes and is composed of several mp3 tracks, which sometimes slightly overlap. In addition, I have static images which do not overlap. The whole music mix clip does not have any actual moving images in it. To render this project I have chosen the HDEV 720p PAL profile, which is supposed to 'render fast' (according to a youtube video whose source I cannot find at the moment). I started rendering and it gave me an estimated time of about 25 minutes. However, this was 6 (six!) hours ago. Now kdenlive states the estimated time to be about 12 seconds, but this already for hours! I can see the output file building (a m2t file) which grows about 12 kB (i.e. 12000 Bytes!) every second. The current size is about 200 MB. How can I render this video clip faster? I am doing something fundamental wrong? Why is this video clip (which does not even contain 'video') taking such an incredible long time? Maybe there are ways to make it differently? If there is a better tool, I will try this instead!

Until this moment, I have installed packages solely on Ubuntu. Now, I am trying Kali Linux,namely uname -v #1 SMP Debian 4.9.18-1kali1 (2017-04-04) A friend, who unfortunately knows less about Linux than me, told me of his problem to install even basic Packages on another Debian distro, though this seems odd, since I heard, that the Repository of Debian is far more bigger than that from Ubuntu. I tried apt install kdenlive apt install audacity apt install blender The fruitlessness of my striving made me modest and so I tried apt install cowsay But even this could not be installed, could you give me an advice how to deal with this?

I am new to the video editing software kdenlive and tried to use it to edit a large avi file. I added the avi clip and started a job to find the scenes in this avi. Halfway through the clip (after 30 minutes or so), kdenlive` suddenly crashed. How can I fix this problem? Additional information related to my questions will be given below once they are asked. As I have no idea whether the issue is related to Ubuntu, the desktop, kdenlive or the avi file, I cannot be more specific at this point. **Additional information** - Sometimes the program outputs the following: Unable to start Dr. Konqi But there seems to exist no package which might solve this problem.

I'm importing my mini-dv tapes to my computer system, and I installed Kdenlive, and wanted to try it for the task. But it's complaining about a missing module that is already installed. Is this common? Is this a bug? What can I do to resolve this? I would really like to have the ability to use an software suite like Kdenlive for importing/editing my dv's(I have also compiled Kino, but it complains about:WARNING: dv1394 kernel module not loaded or failure to read/write /dev/raw1394). This works: # dvgrab -a -format raw -rewind -t prefix- for importing dv's from camcorder, so the firmwire modules are functioning, and it must be some really easy mod for kdenlive capture to work. EDIT #1 I found out that I can use the software without that module, but I still would like to fix the missing module, and maybe get some info on it. If someone knows about this error, module and or fixes, please post an answer for this.

I just installed kdenlive on ubuntu 18.04 and tried to launch it but I get this error kdenlive: error while loading shared libraries: libQt5Svg.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory libqt5svg5 is already the newest version (5.9.5-0ubuntu1). If someone could give me some suggestion on it.
