I have pretty much tried everything I can find, but I haven't manged to get it to work. I have somehow managed to have GRUB2 available with WUBI , and have tried that way to start a live USB. Unfortunately, I have no idea how I've managed to get GRUB installed (I've tried for that long and I've forgotten to document things). In other words, how do I boot from a USB on a Lenovo Yoga tablet 2 1051L/F overview ? I do have a USB to micro USB and a USB hub with four ports, a keyboard, and a USB pen drive with LXLE on it, so I do have the hardware. Any help would be much appreciated.

Wubi limitations
I am using Linux on VM but now I want to have full fledged experience. But I don't want to partition my PC. Will Wubi work since Ubuntu is ok for me. Specifically I want to ask whether installation through Wubi will install full fledged Ubuntu with no capability compromised edition like Live CD?

I'm trying to install Linux Mint 13 with Cinnamon via the 64 bit DVD image from within Windows. I've tried both installing it to C: which is my Windows system disk, but also to D: which is another physical disk entirely. The same thing happens on both disks. The Windows part of the installation completes and it tells me to reboot. When I reboot, it tries rebooting into Linux Mint to start the installation, but I only get a prompt saying grub >. If I try the boot command, it says no kernel is loaded. I've tried looking at the boot record in EasyBCD, and it looks like this: Entry #1 Name: Windows 7 BCD ID: {current} Drive: C:\ Bootloader Path: \Windows\system32\winload.exe Entry #2 Name: Linux Mint BCD ID: {62256248-e57d-11e1-9eca-d50aae34d088} Drive: C:\ Bootloader Path: \linuxmint\winboot\wubildr.mbr Booting Windows 7 works fine obviously, but I'm not sure why Linux Mint fails. The Bootloader Path for the Linux Mint installation checks out. Any ideas why this is happening, and/or what I can do to troubleshoot it? I really want to install this via Wubi, and not have to mess around with partitions.

Some time ago I installed 12.04 from windows xp on a separate "linux" partition via wubi. this partition was allocated 50 GB. my problem now is that obviously the root directory does not have access to the entire volume but only to about 10 gigs which is now not very far from being exhausted. when I call partition monitor I get this: system monitor the hard drive is divided into 3 partitions altogether: the windows volume (sda1) with 146 gigs, a "save" volume (sda6) for backups and stuff with some 103 gigs and the linux volume (sda5) with about 50 gigs of space however being host of this strange subdivision "loop0" where the root directory seems to be placed (so this 10 gigs of the loop0 division seem to belong to the sda5 partition, at least thats what I get) my question is: how can I make the ubuntu root directory to have access to the full 50 gigs of the partition instead of being restricted to the loop0 subdivision to give you some more info heres what the df and mount comments tell me: terminal

I cannot figure out how to boot to Ubuntu. When I go to "msconfig" -> "boot". I only see an option for Windows. The Ubuntu file hierarchy looks like this: D:\ -> ubuntu -> disks, install, winboot The disk file root.disk is about 18gb. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Tried searching the internet for a solution but couldn't find anything. Is it Wubi's fault or is it not designed to give support for UE? If latter, what is the alternative to it (without actually giving UE a seperate partition).

Install Ubuntu 11.10 on it using a CD 3. format the partitions with Windows and wubi on them. Will this successfully make Ubuntu 11.10 as my main OS? In case anyone is wondering why I want to do so: simply because I never use windows and it's just sitting there idle, taking up space.

Now I want to increase the size of this drive. How to do this? I've configured the system for PHP MySQL and installed a lot of software and fixed wireless connection problems a lot of things i don't want to loose these things and start troubling again. I heard of backups, but I think it will take too long. Is there any other simple and fast way?

wubi pros and cons
Do you have experience using [Wubi][1] and if so, what are the major pros and cons ? I am of course particularly interested in potential problems. [1]: http://www.ubuntu.com/desktop/get-ubuntu/windows-installer
