I am trying to set up GitHub codespaces on my new iPad Pro so I can code on it at Uni. I started by going to the Visual Studio Code (online) website and connected to my Uni Github Account. To run any (python code) I needed to set up the codespaces so I created one. When I am on Safari everything seems to be working. But when I created a shortcut to the codespaces - meaning "Add to Homepage" from Safari, and tried to access it something weird happened. Every time I connect, the Touch works, but my keyboard does not respond; I can't write any code, log in to my account, or do anything. I would like to know if someone has encountered the same problem or has a solution to this problem!

I have the iPad Pro (12.9" 3rd Generation) running iPadOS 15, and an Intel Mac Mini running MacOS Monterey 12.3.1 (latest versions per of this writing). The iPad Pro is connected as Extended Display, which shows a MacOS Desktop space on the iPad. I currently have the Apple Pencil (2nd generation) and the iPad Pro Smart Keyboard Folio (without Trackpad). Both of these devices can control the MacOS computer. The Keyboard be used to type, and the Apple Pencil can control the mouse cursor in MacOS. (NB: Unfortunately, touching the iPad screen via fingers does not control the MacOS mouse cursor). Can the iPad Magic Keyboard (with Trackpad) steer the cursor when iPad is an Extended Display for MacOS like this? I simply want to be able to control the mouse cursor on my Mac with the iPad's Magic Keyboard Trackpad.

I’ve got the Magic Keyboard (the one with the hinge that holds the iPad Pro suspended in air above the number keys) and everything works except the trackpad. I can go into the settings app General > Keyboard > Hardware Keyboard and the brightness reacts when I slide the control. Hardware Keyboard settings showing brightness control Note, on a rare occasion this is fixed by disconnecting everything for 20 seconds and reconnecting the USB C cable and then placing the iPad back in the keyboard, but often this issue persists and needs a power down. What can be done to fix this so the trackpad works?

Each time I use an app with a text box (such as Slack, but other apps as well), an irritating (and useless) “floating keyboard” consumes screen real estate and is distracting. Attached is a screenshot to illustrate what I am talking about. How does one deactivate that keyboard for good? I can drag it around but I just don’t want it there at all. I have never needed it and have no use for it. It seems to simply be an annoyance. Thank you in advance. enter image description here

Whether with touchscreen keyboard or external Bluetooth keyboard, it is possible to select some alternative keyboard layouts. But is it possible to remap keys arbitrarily so as to support various layouts that are not supported in iOS out of the box? If not, are there any workarounds like by installing third party keyboards such as gBoard? If not, would it not theoretically be possible to develop a third party installable keyboard for iOS or iPadOS which allows one to define custom input layouts? And would it be possible to extend this mapping to support external Bluetooth accessory type hardware keyboards?

When I switch the language it takes a second or two before I can type in a space which is especially annoying as I'm constantly switching back and forth. Instead, iPad just ignores the fact that I pressed the space and I have two words collided.

How can I select password using keyboard shortcut on iPad
I suppose the same keyboard shortcut would work on iPhones too. I just want to use a keyboard shortcut to populate the password for a given website. I use BitWarden, but the password button I have to press is a generic one on the status/autocorrect bar.

Otherwise is anyone aware of any iPad keyboards with "hackable" or jailbroken firmware?

I am using the Apple Magic Keyboard version for the UK using a Dell laptop running Windows 10. I am having the following struggles, i) I cant seem to access the # (which is part of the key for 3 and which also has the £ symbol above it.) The # seems to be a third symbol available on the key but I cant seem to access it. I dont know what combination of keystrokes would acccess this special character. ii) I have the same problem as i) above but for the symbol which is on the 2 key which has the @ symbol above it. iii) On the 2 key there is the @ symbol above it but it's not correctly mapped. When I select it I get the " instead. The " and the @ seem to be the assigned the wrong way round on my system. How do I correct this please ? Not sure if it's a good idea to present 3 problems on the one post or if I should create 3 separate posts - one for each issue - its just they all seem closely related. Thanks in advance for any help. enter image description here Robbie.

Proper Ukrainian keyboard layout for iPad
I have an iPad Air (4th gen) with Magic Keyboard. However, I’m very displeased but the fact that the “Ukrainian” keyboard layout is non-standard in iOS, with two vowels (*и* and *і*) swapped. This is very annoying. Is there a way to fix it?

I have a Dell Precision laptop that is running Windows 10 Enterprise. I recently bought a bluetooth Magic Keyboard (Apple) that is giving me intermittent issues when I connect it to my Dell laptop (via Bluetooth). It works fine for 10-20 min and then suddenly the keys start repeating erratically and on their own . I then have to end up rebooting my laptop - and then everything works fine for 20 min - and then the same thing happens. I believe I may need to download the latest drivers to address this compatibility issue ? Also please note - I have connected a Dell 4K monitor to my laptop (so I have 2 screens). I doubt if having 2 screens is creating the problem.
