Activated "Mouse Keys" on my macbook to simulate click with "i" key, now I can´t login anymore

I have an older macbook pro (maybe 2016 or so) - I´m not sure what OSX version it is but I updated it some months ago so it´s likely the latest compatible one.
Now somehow the mousepad stopped registering clicks. In order to be able to save my work and try to reboot it, I activated the "Mouse Keys" feature https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/control-the-pointer-using-mouse-keys-mh27469/mac that allows to simulate the mouse-click with the "i" keyboard key.
After rebooting the macbook however, I cannot login anymore. The password contains an i, so I suspect that this is the reason.
The login screen only shows the User Name with the password field below, a ´cancel´ button below that and location, language keyboard icon, battery, wifi icon and date in the top right corner.
The mousepad still does not register clicks, but pressing the i button also doesn´t simulate a click (so i can`t click the cancel button for example) and enters a character into the password field instead (it´s all dots, so I don´t know what charater is entered). But pressing enter says it´s the wrong password. Capslock isn´t activated and the password is a simple lowercase word without any special characters, so I´m absolutely sure it´s entered correctly.
I tried pressing alt+cmd+F5 as the article about "Mouse Keys" mentions this combination to activate and deactivate the feature, but pressing it doesn´t seem to have an effect.
What could be the problem here and how do I get back into the macbook?

After a decade using a combination of Moom and BetterTouchTool for window management, I've decided to give the new Window Tiling capability a try on macOS Sequoia (v15.5) on my 2024 MacBook Pro. In System Settings, under Desktop & Dock, I've enabled "Drag windows to screen edges to tile." I noticed when I drag a window to the edge, at the same time when the window's outline appears on the screen, I get a "click" feedback on the built-in trackpad that's so jarring I keep dropping the window. Is there any way to turn off that unwanted trackpad feedback while keeping the tiling capability as is? Turning off "Force Click and haptic feedback" in the Trackpad settings doesn't resolve this issue. Perhaps there's some hidden terminal command I could run? Please help. 🙏

I'm having troubles with replacing the trackpad on my MBPr 13" Late 2013. I've tried two replacement parts. With the first part only click works, but nothing else (I cannot move the mouse pointer at all), and with the second part nothing works at all. I tried the original cable and replacement cables but the results are the same (old trackpad works with the new cables / new trackpads do not work with the old cable...). So I'm kind of baffled because I could not find anybody having troubles doing this. One of the quirks of my makbook may be that it has a Russian keyboard.
I've tried resetting SMC and NVRAM to no avail.
Have anybody had any luck replacing the trackpad? Where did you get the parts? I'm kind of reluctant purchasing yet another one...
Thanks

I have a MacBook Pro (Early 2015) and roughly 2 years ago, the keyboard and the trackpad stopped working. So I stopped using it.
Two days ago, I had the idea to try it again. And it did still not work.
Then, I tried to install Pop!_OS via USB and I was able to use my keyboard and my trackpad already during the installation process.
A friend of mine has sent me a USB flash drive with macOS Catalina on it to try a fresh installation. However, the problems are back and while trying to install macOS, I am again, unable to use my keyboard nor the trackpad.
What could be the problem here? The hardware itself works fine for obvious reasons.

Is there any way to use trackpad force touch for right click?

I'm using a MacBook M3 Pro, with Sequoia 15.5.
I have the Dock set to automatically appear when the cursor hits the bottom of the screen.
I am using the touchpad, not a mouse.
In fullscreen mode (e.g. iTerm2), it fails to do so. I have to initiate additional downward gestures, sometimes more than once, to coax the Dock into appearing. It turns out that the gestures that don't work all have something in common: they lack the trailing stop (finger remaining on the pad).
Steps to repro:
1. Put iTerm2 into fullscreen mode. (Reproduces with other apps like Chrome.)
2. Quickly perform a downward gesture on the touchpad so that the cursor warps to the bottom pixel of the screen, lifting your finger off the touchpad at the end of the gesture.
3. Nothing happens.
4. Initiate somewhere between 1 and 4 more downward swipes; Dock now appears.
I found these steps *not* to repro:
1. Put iTerm2 into fullscreen mode.
2. Perform a downward gesture, getting the cursor to the bottom pixel, **without lifting your finger**.
3. Dock appears after an annoying delay (about 300 ms) but reliably.
How can we have the same behavior as in non-fullscreen mode, whereby the finger is not required to stay on the touchpad? Note that the hotkey ⌘⌥D is not available in fullscreen mode.
Also, is there a way to kill the delay before the Dock appears? (I know about tuning the animation speed with the
autohide-time-modifier
parameter, which is not related to the initial delay).
This question is similar to the nine-year-old, unanswered question https://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/252999/disable-autohide-dock-displaying-slowly-when-in-fullscreen
However, my problem is with the finger having to remain on the touchpad.
The mouse behavior is different. If you make a quick movement to the bottom of the screen, and then quickly stop moving the mouse, nothing happens; you have to make an additional movement to get the Dock to appear. If you continue moving the mouse for some fractions of a second after the cursor hits the edge, then the Dock appears. There is no requirement to keep the finger on the mouse.
With the touchpad, even the additional additional downward gestures do not make the Dock appear if the finger does not dwell on the touch pad.
If the touchpad behavior were like the mouse behavior (no requirement for lingering finger contact) it would be a big improvement. How do we disable that?
I don't use the mouse; it's collecting dust in a drawer. It cannot be used while it is charging, and it required weekly charging, so I just switched to the touchpad. One less accessory to lug when using the laptop on the go, too.

Disable trackpad feedback? Don't want any tactile/haptic feedback when clicking
Can I completely disable the haptic feedback from my 2015 MacBook Pro with Retina's trackpad? I want to click without _any_ kind of vibration/feedback. Ideally it should feel like (as I imagine it would were this disabled) pressing onto a solid bit of metal. I.e. the case surrounding the trackpad.

Operating systems have "accidental click protection" to prevent touchpad taps from counting while typing. But this M1 suffers from a lot more accidental taps registering.
*I have used maybe every portable Apple has made since the black-and-white PowerBooks. This is the first time I've seen this problem to this degree.*
Is this a common/known issue with M1 portables?

Too often, when I try to move my cursor and click, or try to drag something or select text, and my two fingers end up on the trackpad at the same time, all my open tabs shrink into this view:
This is extremely disruptive as it makes me lose my focus and then I have to locate the page I was currently on, click it and then resume working.
I can't tell what this specific feature in **Safari** is called (I want to still be able to pinch to zoom in and out of a page), and couldn't find info anywhere on how to completely disable it.
***Can I disable this? (or I can use another browser, obviously...)***

The method used to select text with scrolling:
1. click the index finger on the touchpad
2. Use the middle and fourth (ring) finger to scroll up and down
3. Use the middle finder to move the cursor to the end of the selection once scrolled to the correct portion of the page
The experience faced when using the select text with scrolling:
* After an initial scroll down, scrolling stops and no longer has an effect. While the index finger is still down the middle and ring finger scrolling motion does not result in a scroll down.
* Starting an initial scroll - the mission control (swipe up with 3 fingers) action starts showing
* After an initial scroll up, scrolling stops and no longer has an effect. While the index finger is still down - the middle and ring finger scrolling motion does not results in a scroll up.
Mac details:
* MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2021)
* version 12.6
How can this issue where selecting text and scrolling stops half way with M1 trackpad - be fixed?

I have BetterTouchTool installed, but that program lacks a 'single-finger Force Click anywhere on the trackpad' trigger. Is there another workaround to achieve the desired effect, e.g. using AppleScript?
I'm on a 15" tMBP, should that be relevant.
