Activated "Mouse Keys" on my macbook to simulate click with "i" key, now I can´t login anymore

I have an older macbook pro (maybe 2016 or so) - I´m not sure what OSX version it is but I updated it some months ago so it´s likely the latest compatible one.
Now somehow the mousepad stopped registering clicks. In order to be able to save my work and try to reboot it, I activated the "Mouse Keys" feature https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/control-the-pointer-using-mouse-keys-mh27469/mac that allows to simulate the mouse-click with the "i" keyboard key.
After rebooting the macbook however, I cannot login anymore. The password contains an i, so I suspect that this is the reason.
The login screen only shows the User Name with the password field below, a ´cancel´ button below that and location, language keyboard icon, battery, wifi icon and date in the top right corner.
The mousepad still does not register clicks, but pressing the i button also doesn´t simulate a click (so i can`t click the cancel button for example) and enters a character into the password field instead (it´s all dots, so I don´t know what charater is entered). But pressing enter says it´s the wrong password. Capslock isn´t activated and the password is a simple lowercase word without any special characters, so I´m absolutely sure it´s entered correctly.
I tried pressing alt+cmd+F5 as the article about "Mouse Keys" mentions this combination to activate and deactivate the feature, but pressing it doesn´t seem to have an effect.
What could be the problem here and how do I get back into the macbook?

Question: How would I do this by typing instead of speaking? (Siri has a “Type to Siri” option, but Voice Control does not). Is there really no accessibility option for letting the user type the text of the button they want to click?
What I’ve tried: I tried Switch Control, but it scans for links instead of letting you jump to ones matching a given text. I’ve also tried Cmd+F in Safari to highlight links, but nothing I’ve found lets me click the highlighted link without using the mouse. I’ve been using Mouse Keys to navigate instead, albeit slowly.

How do we enable Secondary Click (Right Click) for Guest Users by default?
I know I can change the settings of an existing account with this command:
/usr/bin/defaults write /Users//Library/Preferences/com.apple.driver.AppleHIDMouse.plist Button2 -int 2
However, the guest account has no files in its home folder, as the data will be wiped every time it logs out. How can I configure the Secondary Click as Right Click for the Guest account?
p.s. there is no Guest User Template in:

I use the Logitech Trackman and love being able to scroll up or down with just a simple click of a button.
However, I would like to be able to scroll a page (usually webpage) when I reach the edge of a window, without having to click anything.
So far I have looked into apps that could simulate clicking the scrolling button of the mouse, and scroll apps such as Smart Scroll, Smooze, Auto Clickers etc, but I wonder if there is an easier way because nothing I've found has worked quite how I wanted.
I am using an older computer (running High Sierra), maybe Accessibility or Automator would allow me to do that but I haven't yet found out how.
**Are there features of MacOS 10 that can be programmed to scroll on edge of pages, or easy ways to achieve this?**

As you can see, it has a numpad on the far right, just like my old one. When I enable mouse keys (I like to use the numpad to control the mouse sometimes), it works properly, but it also uses '789uiojkl' as mouse keys, which prevents me from being able to type normally. This wasn't an issue on my other keyboard. Is there any way that I can disable the '789uiojkl' mouse keys but keep the numpad ones?
From what I understand, the '789uiojkl' should only be available for keyboards that don't have mouse keys, but mine does and it enables both of them, which is beyond pointless and extremely annoying.

I've owned a 2012 Macbook Air for >8 years and it's been the best computer I've ever owned.
Throughout the years, I've sometimes washed the keys and screen with soap and water (small amounts).
A few months ago, I washed the keys and then realized shortly after that several of them do not work. From what I've read, this is due to electrical damage with the keys' circuitry.
I've removed the keys and attempted to clean the inside with a cotton swab and rubbing alcohol. In addition to spraying it with canned air.
No dice.
Seems I might need a new keyboard. This seems to be a hard fix to do alone and I've got a quote from a trusted local shop that can do it for ~$175.
Currently, I'm using the laptop with an external keyboard. This gets pretty cumbersome and it loses its portability. If the laptop has to act as a desktop from now on, then I can live with that.
Just wondering if there's any possible quick fix I can try with the keys before considering dishing out money. Thanks!

I wanted to test the Mouse Key functionality on my MBP and so went ahead and checked the enable mouse keys option under Universal Access settings.
As expected the trackpad was disabled and I was able to use a combination of Number and alphabet keys to move the pointer around.
However, for the life of me, I just couldnt figure out a key to uncheck the box with the pointer right over it.
I tried the return key, spacebar.....what not.
I ended up doing a force power off and power on.
Anybody know what key is used for triggering a selection??
Thanks

I understand there is one correct answer to this question. I would like to know how you guys do it. I definitely will find useful tips to improve the typing overall. Thank you so much in advance.
edit:
Ok, I need to specific, I am using MacbookPro 2016, which only have left control key. (I wish we could modify the right option key to act as a control key, but the left option key stays the same)

Mac mini: Mouse left click not working
Today the left click of the mouse connected to my Mac mini is not working. I tried to change mouse and I tried the mouse on a different Mac, and it works. The problem still persists on my Mac mini. Can this be a hardware problem? How do I resolve the issue?

Apple lets users who occasionally want the use of Mouse Keys to enable/disable it by pressing Option (⌥) five times. I use Maya, so I'm constantly using the Option key to manipulate the camera, and this usage often triggers Mouse Keys. Unfortunately, this disables the rest of my keyboard (see this Apple KB page ) and I can't use other helpful shortcuts. I can of course disable it again, but it's annoying when I have to do it again and again.
I went to the appropriate place in System Preferences to disable this (Universal Access > Mouse & Trackpad), but it's greyed out. I've done extensive searching and haven't found anyone with a similar problem.
Why is this happening, and how can I stop it?

Recently, I had to shut down a Mac with no mouse and only a PC keyboard with no Eject key. (Incidentally, there are several solutions to that puzzle, and the one I settled on was to use the Terminal.) But as I first approached the problem, I thought: There is some universal access feature there to help if one can't use the mouse, isn't there? Yes: MouseKeys. However, this nice page with the keyboard shortcuts for MouseKeys in Lion suggests that you have to enable a checkbox in a System Preferences pane before you can use it. So, how do you enable MouseKeys without using a mouse?

I'm running macOS 10.12 on a MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015).
Randomly, mouse keys was enabled when my hands were not touching the keyboard. I don't have a bluetooth keyboard (although I do have a bluetooth mouse which I was not using at the time). This is the second time it has happened.
This is either a software or hardware bug, but it seems oddly specific to be a hardware bug when I don't see other random keypresses.
1. How can I diagnose this? I can't find any mention of 'mouse' in
system.log
.
2. Is this a known bug? I can't seem to find any other mentions.
3. Can I prevent this from happening again?
