After a decade using a combination of Moom and BetterTouchTool for window management, I've decided to give the new Window Tiling capability a try on macOS Sequoia (v15.5) on my 2024 MacBook Pro. In System Settings, under Desktop & Dock, I've enabled "Drag windows to screen edges to tile." I noticed when I drag a window to the edge, at the same time when the window's outline appears on the screen, I get a "click" feedback on the built-in trackpad that's so jarring I keep dropping the window. Is there any way to turn off that unwanted trackpad feedback while keeping the tiling capability as is? Turning off "Force Click and haptic feedback" in the Trackpad settings doesn't resolve this issue. Perhaps there's some hidden terminal command I could run? Please help. 🙏

I've been using my Macbook Pro M2 for a few months and couldn't complain. However, since yesterday I can barely notice the haptic click feedback of the trackpad. I have not changed anything in the settings. I did however clean the Laptop with a screen cleaner (which I have done countless times before).
I compared the click feedback with my girlfriends Macbook and the difference is very noticeable (and it seems to be getting worse).
Any help would be appreciated.

I want to set up my phone so that I have a ringtone and get notifications without sound (haptic only). I have tried 1000 different combinations and didn't manage to do it as I want but I noticed something strange:
Let's take instagram for example - when I go to Settings>Sounds and Haptics and turn off Play Haptics in Ring mode it turns off vibrations as suggested and there is sound alerts when receiving notifications. But when I go to Settings>Notifications>Instragram and and turn off Sounds it turns off BOTH sounds and haptics. Now is that normal or is that a bug.
I just want to have a ringtone for all incoming calls and put notifications on vibration.

I want the phone to vibrate when the ring is silenced. I have Vibrate on Silent enabled and System Haptics disabled.
- If **Accessibility** > **Touch** > **Vibration** is enabled, the phone still vibrates when I touch the screen for more than a fraction of a second.
- If **Accessibility** > **Touch** > **Vibration** is disabled, the phone does not vibrate when calls come in.
How can I disable all system vibrations, but have the phone still vibrate for incoming calls and alarms?

Trackpad works fine but there is no haptic feedback in Macbook air retina 2018
The trackpad stopped giving haptic feedback suddenly however force touch and other gestures are working fine. Hence, it didn't seem a hardware issue. Also,I did SMC reset and NVRAM/PRAM reset. No improvement.

I recently upgraded my iPhone 6s+ to iOS13.
Haptic Touch is getting in the way of how I use the phone. It's slower than 3D Touch, pops up and distracts me when my finger rests on the screen and provides no functionality I didn't already have.
Is the only way to get rid of Haptic Touch to restore from backup to iOS12?
Am I missing something about Haptic Touch? It seemed like a UI hack to allow 3D Touch features on budget iPhones, but for some reason was forced on everything?
**For those searching on this:**
"3D Touch" is used by pressing hard on the screen, e.g., in text areas, you can press hard on the keyboard and move a cursor around, pressing hard again to select words, sentences or dragging out a precise selection with only your thumb.
"Haptic Touch" is used by resting your finger on the screen and waiting until there's a vibration. E.g., the keyboard cursor can be activated by resting your thumb on the space bar then dragged around the text. You select by touching the screen with a second finger (without removing your first finger from the screen... you'll need two hands) then dragging one of your fingers to expand the selection.
---
Update: Tried 13.2, it's still not possible to disable only Haptic Touch in the settings menu.
I've submitted a feature request here, if you're in the same boat, please do the same: https://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html

I have a problem with my MacBook Pro 2018. There no haptic feedback on the touchpad. It worked with Catalina well, but only for a few days.
The touchpad works very well with all gestures. There is only no vibration when I klick anything.
What I did:
- restart the MacBook
- NVRAM reset
- SMC reset
- I set the MacBook to default configuration and don't logged in with my Apple ID.

I have iPhone 7 Plus running on 13.2.3.

With iOS 11 & 12 on my iPhone 5s, when I held down the home-button to activate Siri, I would get a haptic vibration when Siri was ready to listen for a command.
Now, new phone (iPhone SE), and new iOS, iOS 13.1.2: No haptic feedback after pressing the home-button for Siri. When Siri responds to a command, *then* I get a haptic shake.
➥ Is this the new normal? Is there a way to activate the haptic-shake-when-listening feature?
The haptic feedback was quite useful when using the iPhone without looking.
I am not using the "Hey Siri" always-listening feature, nor do I want to.

What are the remedies for a trackpad suddenly malfunctioning?
The trackpad on my 2017 MBP (no touch) has suddenly started functioning improperly, at times. It is ultra-sensitive at times, clicking everything every second while at other times it is inactive. No haptic bump, no clicking on screen. Is there a remedy for this? A way to reset it, so to speak?

Can the haptic feedback level be lowered on the ForceTouch trackpad for MacBook Pro?
The haptic feedback on the Force Touch Trackpad is too loud/clicky for my preferences. If I disable force click, that turns off the haptic feedback entirely. I also have reduced it to the minimum force which helps, but is still too loud.
That's not what I'd like, though - I want force click enabled with a significantly reduced haptic force click sound.
Is there a setting to change this whether it's a hidden preference or adjustment or if it's something in the system preferences?

One fine day, the Taptic engine on my iPhone 6s decided to stop working. The phone is being used normally and there was no mishandling, dropping, jerks/shocks to the device or exposure to moisture/liquid.
This has happened previously a couple of times, where restarting the device has generally resolved the problem, but not this time. It has been around 4-5 days and the Taptic engine simply won't give any feedback when force touching an app icon, receiving a call etc.
I have tried restarting the device multiple times, and have also reset the device entirely, but to no avail.
I am running iOS 12.1.4 (current as of this writing). How do I resolve the issue?

I have a MacBook Pro with touch bar from late 2016. I was using my MacBook Pro normally by watching video's. After a view video's I closed my MacBook Pro and came back later. When I opened it again I discovered that the haptic feedback was no longer functioning.
My track pad was fully functional, I was able to click, to use right button, to use Force Touch and move the cursor normally. The only thing that wasn't working was the haptic feedback. I didn't change anything in the settings.

A small list of everything I tried:
- Fully shutdown, and restart
- SMC reset
- ^ Control⇧ Shift⌥ Option ⦿ Power while power on
- ^ Control⇧ Shift⌥ Option ⦿ Power while power off
- NVRAM reset
- By rebooting pressing CommandOptionPR and waiting for 20 secs
- Booting while holding D, gave as result: "ADP000", no problems found
- Starting in Safe Mode, no result
- Booting from a USB stick with a clean install of macOS
None of these procedures worked for me. I' hoping that someone who had the same issue knows a fix. Otherwise, I might contact Apple. I'm able to use my MacBook Pro normally but it just bothers me the haptic feedback isn't working.

I know there's no tactile feedback, but then it hit me - maybe there’s a setting somewhere for sound. You know, like the beeps you here when pressing buttons on some devices.
My guess is this is just not possible, but before I make the suggestion to Apple I wanna make sure!
Any ideas?

I have a 13" MacBook Pro Retina early 2015. A few days ago I was working on a spreadsheet and then it suddenly crashed (black screen for several minutes). Once it finally started up again, the Haptic feedback had stopped working. After more use I have found that the battery is draining faster and when I close the lid from 100% charge over night, I come to it in the morning and it's well below 50% charge.
I believe I have reset the SMC, with no change. Updated the software to Mojave V10.14.
Has anyone else had this issue, or any ideas of a fix?
Thanks in advance.
